Rich the instructor is inspirational and insightful without being pushy or overly critical. He works well with all age groups and abilities. It is obvious that Rich loves the art and loves teaching. I enrolled in the adult class and my two daughters were in the kids class until we moved to the west coast. My girls who are not into sports loved their classes and I loved watching them. Rich was great at getting the best from my girls. I also got a good workout from my classes. Rich is great at ramping up the intensity without burning people out. I've worked with other instructors at other schools who did not respect their students limits but found that Rich will encourage you but not break you. Moo Duk Kwan is a great martial art and Rich runs a great school.

Soo Bahk Do, a traditional martial art, provides each practitioner a multitude of different benefits for adults and children as they develop his/her confidence through regular mental and physical training. These benefits include: physical coordination, mental discipline, self-confidence, philosophical perspective as well as self-defense just to name a few. Mr Rich Ahlers began his training in 1985 and has taught Soo Bahk Do for over 10 years and competed in tournaments locally, regionally and nationally throughout his training career. He has won numerous awards as well. I have personally trained with Mr Ahlers on numerous occasions in NY, NJ and CT. He executes excellent hand and foot techniques for self-defense and displays a passion for The Art of Soo Bahk Do that all prospective students will experience and learn first hand. Please stop in The Newtown Youth Academy (NYA) and see for yourself. If you are interested in learning martial arts, you will discover a new passion and establish personal relationships that will last a lifetime. 5 Stars!!!
