My 5 year old started classes with Mr. Michael in June 2023. At 5, she struggles with a lot of worry and anxiety. We started with Mr. Michael to build up her confidence and create ways to cope with her nerves. I would highly recommend Michael Kickaro's Martial Arts & Fitness in Danbury, CT, for any child who is interested in the Martial Arts. Mr. Michael is truly amazing with the kids, he makes them feel so comfortable and keeps it fun for them also, as they are learning. Our 6 1/2 yr old daughter, started with Mr. Michael at 4. She was shy and used to run off the mat, over to me during classes, but Mr. Michael always found a way to get her back on the mat and stay focused. Now she is in class with mostly boys and it doesn't even phase her one bit. We are very thankful that Mr. Michael has so much patience and never gave up on her as her confidence level and self-esteem has completely changed from when she first started. Our daughter absolutely ADORES Mr. Michael, and he cares about the kids not just in class but outside of class, and will do everything possible to help the kids with personal issues when needed. We find him to be an amazing person to go above and beyond, as many would not bother or care and that's what separates Mr. Michael from all the rest!! Mr. Michael is very, very good with kids! I have a 5 year old that is new to his program and he finds a way to really engage himself with every kid in his class and make them feel special, all while teaching basic life skills like listening, following directions and respect (my son has trouble with these at home). When my son comes home, he is always super excited about what he did in class and is always excited to get his attendance stipe on his belt. I learned that the school owner (Mr. Michael) has been practicing Taekwondo for most of his life, and it really resonates with his students. I'm very happy to have started my child in his program and when my younger son becomes old enough, we will enroll him as well. read more

I signed my son up a couple of weeks ago and it was the best decision I could've made. He loves it and they learned a lot very quickly. The staff is amazing they work with each child at their pace to help them grow. I have seen such a positive change already with my son and his confidence level. He looks up to Mike and wants to be just like him. On the other side of it the remainder of the staff take their time teaching their students until the really understand and get the routine. I would recommend anyone with children to get involved it would be the best decision they would ever make. I can't recommend Mr. Michael's Kickaro's Martial Arts and Fitness enough! Mr. Michael teaches Karate at my school to my class, as well as two others. To see this man's smiling face walk through the class door, instantly excites the students. They have so much respect for Mr. Michael which he in turn teaches them to respect others. It's such a great outlet for the physical kids and Mr. Michael really gives these kids a sense of pride in what they do in his class. The first thing my students say to their parents is, "Guess what I did in Karate today!!!" He's incredibly nurturing and supporting to the kids he works with; not to mention his attention to detail about each child. I was so in awe of his ethics, that I started attending his kickboxing classes! This man will get you results. Fourteen pounds and still dropping! And ladies, NOTHING else has ever worked for me.
