My experience at Hana Designs was nothing short of amazing. As someone who is going through hair loss due to chemotherapy, I was emotional and grieving this loss. Hana right away put me at ease and provided me with information that I didn't even know I needed. She took the time to look at my natural hair, she found three wigs that matched my hair color perfectly and all three looked so natural and, dare I say, attractive. So this store sold us a $2,000.00 human hair wig and did not send instructions on how to care for wig. Also people that need wigs have illnesses/ diseases and are suffering Yet this business charges overpriced merchandise And services like maintaining wigs and nickle and dime you. SO VERY FRUSTRATED W/ lack of empathy and price gauging and I have found the non human hair wigs are easier to work with and are cheaper- WE WERE RIPPED OFF AND THE 2K wig we purchased looks like crap every time it is worn- disgusted . read more

Hana is absolutely terrible and was unwilling to help me with 2 of the past wigs I purchased. I thought maybe the 1st one was a fluke. Purchased another 5k human hair wig. Within a couple of months, Same exact issue!!' She was so rude, condescending, unhelpful and told me to deal with the manufacture direct. Well that went no where too'. Hana was a doll. She is so very accommodating and easy to work with. We went in on a guess to purchase a wig stand brace. She had a used one which she gave us for a small donation to her charity (those individuals who cant afford a wig). We were happy to donate. We took our synthetic wig in to see if it can be styled for an event. Hana wasn't sure if it would take curls. She convinced us to leave it with her and she would try her best. We gave her a photo of the look we wanted it styled and all was set. We heard back about a week later (we were in no rush) and came to pick it up. She did call us before hand to let us know it would take curls. When we picked it up, it had curls but was never styled. We paid her the agreed amount and left. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was the fact we paid for styling and it was not done. We didn't want to make a scene so we paid and left. I would highly recommend Hana Designs for anyone needing assistance with wigs. Her salon is wonderful as is she. We will definitely use again. I've been here twice. The first time was before I started chemo and wanted to check out their stock of wigs. The female who helped me was very understanding and brought me tissue as I burst into tears while trying them.on. The second visit was after I started chemo and wanted to have a wig on hand when the hair loss started. The gentleman who helped me found me several in stock options very close to my natural hair color. He was very knowledgable and showed me the correct way to wear a wig. I felt no pressure to buy any particular wig and there was a significant cost difference in my two final choices. I opted for the more expensive one but only because I liked it better, not because he pressured me in any way. Recommend this place for their selection and customer service. On a separate side note regarding the review on LGBT, on my first visit I went with a friend and we could completely pass for girlfriends. I wish other reviewers mentioned the heavy fragrances in here so I did not drive almost an hour for nothing. So the good is, it looked amazing inside. Wigs galore, some on sale for $150! The warning to my fellow canaries out there, if you have an injured immune system, post-cancer therapy chemically sensitive, have allergies, asthma, MCS, Mast Cell issues - don't bother going in because you won't be able to. Once in the front door foyer, the heavy incense caused an immediate reaction. Inside away from the foyer, it did not dissipate. Could not see or breathe, on the verge of full blown asthma attack. I came here with my mom as she was in need of a wig for her cancer diagnosis. I am a cancer survivor and in need of a wig. I was recommended Hana designs by my GYN Clinic. When I got to the store I felt rush and that Hana was annoyed that my husband and I didn't make an appointment even though walkins are welcome. As we looked around I have to say I was shocked at the PRICE of these wigs, they are some of the most expensive wigs I have research. When she did come to help us, she was still rushed but more helpful. She grabbed a wig of the rack and said this is your wig style. And I had to admit she was right. We were both in a hurry as she had another customer and I had to go to my chemo apt. I asked her how much the wig was and she said $200. My husband and I both heard her say $200. She took it to the counter and rang it up. I signed it and ran out to my apt. 2 days later when looking at my discover bill she charged $700 for the $200 wig. We were both in a hurry and should have prof read better, but bottom line I was over charged. I have tried repeatedly to contact Hanna designs with no return calls or emails. They are happy to overcharge and not return inquiries. I will now have to go through the hassle of disputing it with my credit card company. Why can people just be honest and helpful, instead of jaded and dishonest. Buy your wig elsewhere. Feeling very taking advantage at a very bad time in my life. read more

In the course of my work, designing and manufacturing fine European and premium hair creations, I visit with specialist hair studios throughout the US, and around the world. I have spent many hours at Hana Designs over the years and witnessed on numerous occasions Hana's dedication to her Clients, her expertise and creativity. She also cares about her team and her vendors. She is a rare all-round good, caring person who even launched a charity to provide hair to children and adults who couldn't afford it. Just to enter her spacious studio, the delicate smell of natural essential oils, and how impeccably everything is displayed and spotlessly clean tells you immediately that this is a different experience. And you would need to travel far to find a larger choice of fine human hair creations for women and children who need to add to or replace their lost or thinning hair. There is also a very large selection of faux-hair wigs and partials for those on a budget or who just prefer this route, This is a special place. I have seen the range of wildly opposing 5-star and 1-star reviews below and it certainly begs the question, how can one studio be both that good and that bad? It seems improbable. In fact, it was seeing Hana visibly upset and asking her the reason that leads me to writing this review. I am not compensated to do so and Hana does not know I am doing it. Having seen the emotional toil cancer-related hair loss, androgenic hair loss, as well as Alopecia Areata in all its forms, can take on a woman or parents of small children, I can tell you that I would bring my loved one to Hana's anytime for a compassionate experience, expert advice, as well as a good value solution. And the one-star reviews? Maybe there are fair, maybe not. I could not say. Some mention competing alternative locations by name ??? But, personally, I have never seen anyone leave Hana unhappy. Sometimes frustration, anger and a feeling of loss can be misdirected. Best salon in the area! Everyone here is super knowledgeable and really helpful when it comes to any hair or beauty needs! I always learn something new coming in here. I have really dark brown dyed hair but I've always wanted to go platinum blonde. I was scared of damaging my hair but they came up with a solution to make me blonde WITHOUT BLEACH! How cool is that!? As a woman with permanent baldness, I've purchased several wigs here over the last two years. I don't dispute the selection or quality, however, I'm always surprised that when I walk in to look for a new wig, I get nothing more than a "hello." No one ever offers to assist me, offer their opinion, or make suggestions. I find what I like, pay my $500-700, they throw it in a bag, and we're done. There is nothing else I pay that much for that is handled in such a non-customer service oriented way. I guess it's working for them, but it seems cold, and I feel like I'm interrupting them in order to hand over a lot of money. I also agree with the reviewer who mentioned the heavy incense. I like the fact she does things for cancer patients. However, my experience with buying a topper was not good. Hana assisted me to purchase a way overpriced topper. I liked the color. When I got it back she had put brash highlights in it--I'm 70 and didn't like that. Then she cut bangs into it, which I did not want. She didn't tell me how to put it on & when I went back, she was rushed & rude. She also added $40 worth of shampoo/conditioner into the $1,000 topper. She doesn't accept returns. I had to take it to someone & have her dye it. To this day, I hate the bangs. She doesn't listen & does what SHE wants, not the customer. All she is after is a big sale. Beware! read more

NEVER GO HERE. I brought in my brand new wig for alteration because it was too small. When Hana looked at it, she argued with me and told me it was too big. She said she was going to make it fit correctly and add clips for security. Well, she made my wig even SMALLER!! Not to mention, the clips that she sewed in fell out within two weeks (and I was charged a good amount for those clips). I have since sewn my own on and they've yet to fall off. Obviously this woman doesn't know how to sew. A crackhead would have done a better job with the stitching on the cap. She ruined my wig and charged me $100+ for it. I eventually called her back to let her know this was not right and that I needed it fixed. I told her my name on the phone and she repeatedly called me "Jessica" (not my name). She was incredibly rude and short over the phone, even when I was trying to tell her she messed up. I made the decision today to go to Kim's Wig Botik and they INSTANTLY fixed my wig for $30!! Hana is rude, completely incompetent and will rip you off any chance she gets. By the way, she charges thousands for crappy looking short wigs. My mother is currently going through chemo due to breast cancer and we are in search of a wig. One of her nurses had recommended this place and I did a yelp search. This place had good reviews and so I passed the info to my mother who just called to book an appointment. She stated the 1st person she talked to was very nice and got her an appointment right away, unfortunately she needed to reschedule as sometimes her chemo runs over and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to make the appointment time. She called back and the owner answered. She was nothing but rude to my mother telling her "oh no, no, no that won't work" and stated she has clients already booked and that my mom needed to make an appointment 5 days out after her 2nd chemo appointment. My mom had explained to her that she works and she's trying to get a wig before her hair starts falling out because she didn't want to go to work bald. The owner responded with "Well you better get used to it. You're gonna be bald." Who the f**k says that to a chemo patient!? Well this place just lost a customer because we will NOT be going here. If I could give zero stars I would. Hopefully no one else has to experience this type of rudeness especially after all the other emotional turmoil that goes along with being diagnosed with cancer. read more

They should let you know up front that the deposit on a wig is non refundable. I put a $50 deposit on a wig that was only held for 4 days and Hana would not allow the $50 to be spent on any other items in her store. Hana was a very thoughtful, caring, and skilled stylist! My mom came in here for a wig and was a bit apprehensive at first, because of her hair loss she wanted something that still looked like her natural hair, just more of it. Hana evaluated my mom's hair and offered her many options to choose from. The first one that Hana offered was the best fit, but she also let us browse and take our time deciding. My mom was sold on that first wig-the color, even down to the salt and pepper sprinkled throughout, the curl and texture, everything was exactly like my mom's natural hair, and exactly how she wanted it. Hana also cut and styled the wig for my mom. The store was clean and quiet, with an amazing selection of wigs without being overwhelming. But the best part of it all was Hana! She was so experienced, kind, and patient. She made all of us, especially my mom, feel at ease and at home. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you are nervous about trying a wig.
