First time back in a salon in years. I must say I was hesitant when Sici started cutting my hair before washing it. I'm old. I've been to salons across the world & this caught me off guard. When she took me back to wash my hair, despite my doubts about the cut I found myself able to relax & just close my eyes & breathe. I haven't been able to shut down my brain in I can't remember how long. It was just quiet, calm & peaceful. That 5 minutes meant the world to me, Sici! After the wash, Sici did a few more snips, blowdried & straightened my hair. I looked in the mirror & I was SHOCKED IN DISBELIEF. GOT TALENT? SICI DOES. Cici is an artist and a hardworking business woman and an absolute magician when it comes to working with her. I was in desperate need of a haircut and was driving around aimlessly until I came across this place, and I'm glad I did. I have never in my life been to a place so efficient with a stylist who was so quick and sure. I suppose I had the honor of getting Sici herself, and she was incredibly friendly, talkative, and again, QUICK. I showed her what I wanted, and without batting an eye, she went to work and I got exactly what I wanted in about 10 minutes. Granted, I didn't have that much, but short hair can be a pain for some stylists for some reason, but she was so deft and sure. I love it. This is the first haircut I've had in a long time where I didn't have to look in the mirror and think, ok, in a month it will be ok. NOPE, not this time! Money well spent here. I am new to the area and was nervous to trust someone with my hair but after my visit today I felt so comfortable and was so happy with my hair. I came in with uneven, brittle ends and came out with amazing healthy looking hair. I feel so much better and the cut is amazing, my bangs are awesome and my length is perfect. This review is for Brigette at Impressions Salon, as she is the only stylist I have seen at impressions Salon. I think that the stylists are all individual businesses within the salon, but please don't quote me on that. I went to Brigette, because a friend had gone to her and I liked the work she did. I have been frustrated with my wavy/curly hair and was looking for a change. My first appointment was for a "blow-out" or as my Tutu (Grandma) used to call it, a wash, set, and style. I wanted my hair to remain wavy/curly so Brigette used a diffuser on my hair (which is the only way I ever dry my hair) and it turned out fabulous. At this point, I needed a trim, but I wanted to see how she did with the blow-out/wash, set & style before I let her get anywhere near my hair with a pair of scissors. So, as she dried and styled my hair, we consulted with what I wanted out of a trim and what she could do for me. I booked another appointment for a week later for a trim My regular stylist always seems to take any length that grew off with her scissors, even though I always tell her I want to keep as much length as possible. I don't have split ends and generally have very healthy hair. I get the impression that most stylists think that once a woman hits a certain age, their hair shouldn't be longer than BSL (bra strap length) and should be at shoulder length (yuck, not for me). At any rate, when Brigette trimmed my hair, she truly left most of my length, just evening up the ends. She also cut more layers in, which is something I had wanted for years and was told by my previous stylist was too young for me. I LOVE my more layered style and she also thinned it out a bit. It is much lighter and the waves/curls are more pronounced with the weight taken out of it. Did I mention how much I love my new style? I've gone to Sici twice. First time was good. She did a good job. Second time was horrible. She cut my hair incorrectly and now will take months to grow out enough for me to get it back to how it should be. I specifically told her I needed blond around my face, she did dark around my face and throughout roots and then did blond highlights throughout with foils but did not take the color to my roots (leaving nearly an inch from my root). When I brought it up after drying my hair she said it was cause my hair didn't have enough weight to hold the foils. I've been having my hair done with foils for nearly 20 years and never had this issue. I had told her blond throughout and dark low lights (specifically blond around my face cause that is where my greys show up) as this is how I've had my hair done for the last 2 years. I had a coworker take pictures the next day and sent them to Sici and asked her for a refund. She never responded. This was highly upsetting that I paid for bad hair coloring and bad hair cut. Not to mention she talks /negatively/badly about the nail salon next door, other clients and even other stylist who work in the salon. I never heard back from Sici, so I went there to try to talk to her. She walked away from me, was rude, and would not take responsibility. She said that she did everything to make it right. She attempted to redo the foils around my face after drying and I had brought it to her attention of how far away the blond was from the root. She was irritated. Said there was nothing she could do cause the foils wouldn't stay put. It's cause she didn't pull the foils tight to my scalp and put the color to the root. This is how my previous stylists have done foils, and there was never an issue. I have been embarrassed of the way my hair looks, my coworkers the next day pointed out that there was even more areas throughout that had about an inch gap from my root. Paying $145 for a bad hair color job and hair cut. I do not recommend this salon and definitely not Sici. I've never had a stylist be so rude, it was uncomfortable hearing her talk so negatively about the nail salon next door, her clients and other stylist. I'm sure she will now speak negatively about me. It is horrible customer service. It is also not how someone should be running business. She refused to make it right or issue a refund even with pictures and my message of concern of how it looks. read more

I'm a female and wear my hair really short. I moved to the Aurora area about a year ago from another state and was stressing over who was going to cut my hair, as it's not a simple "snip, cut, trim" deal in dealing with the quirkiness of my hair and the style I like. I had been seeing the same stylist for at least 4 years before I moved here and as most people know, it's REALLY really hard to lose a stylist that understands your hair plus always gives you fabulous cuts! I tried a stylist at another Aurora salon when I first moved here and she was pretty good, so I stuck with her, but the last 6 cuts (I have to get a monthly trim/cut) were slowly going downhill ... in other words I WASN'T happy (nor was my hair). Plus I was starting to feel like she wasn't really into having me as a client. So, to Yelp I headed to check out reviews and found Impressions Salon. I also checked out comments on their Facebook page, and with a little fear ... booked an appt. with Marci, the owner. Based on other reviews, it appeared she did great short haircuts. Well, I couldn't be HAPPIER with my decision to give Marci a try! She UNDERSTANDS my hair, the type of super-short cut and look I want to achieve, etc. I've had my second appt. with her and the 2nd cut was even better than the first - she said the cut done by the previous stylist wasn't the greatest for various reasons and that the first cut she did was trying to deal with that while not totally scalping me to get all the different layers back to a more manageable level. And I knew she wasn't trying to tell me a story - she was being honest with me ... I KNEW that the other stylist had done a real chop-job on my last visit to her. I've definitely experienced better. I decided to give it a try after using a groupon-like deal. Never again. It was a complete bait-and-switch situation where the stylist wanted to charge me an additional $80 for highlights. Totally not worth it, and the cut wasn't very good, either. Terrible experience! The owner Sici Welton who says she has been doing hair for 25 years still seems like she just got out of school. My hair was fried because she left me under the dryer for too long and there was a huge hole in my haircut which will take months to grow out. She has spotty English and half of the time she couldn't understand me. If you are going to run a business in this country at least learn to understand your customers. The salon is extremely dirty with dust everywhere. Fingerprints all over the glass and spots on the mirrors. Her station particularly was very dirty and messy with product spread all over the place, so much she took up two stations. When she waxed my eyebrows I noticed a used stick left in the wax which she used on me...omg...Really! I know that wouldn't pass under Colorado State Law! Gross! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Bought a Groupon. I want to start by saying that Sici is nice but I will not be returning. To begin with, Sici wasn't ready for me until 15 minutes after my appointment time. So that's frustrating. Two people walked in after me so it appears she was triple booked. I was informed for a simple haircut because I have long hair, it would be $10 more than the Groupon, which isn't stated in the fine print. It states for hair color it's $10 more, understandably since more color would need to be used. It says nothing about a haircut. She asked if I wanted to contact Groupon and ask for my money back but I desperately needed a haircut. I wish I would've. I felt completely rushed and not taken care of. She put me under the hair dryer for 15+ minutes to dry my hair while she worked with another client. Very unprofessional. It's not the worst haircut I've had, but I'm not impressed either. Not a good experience at all. Take your money somewhere else. read more
