I've been with Hancock Bank since 1978, personal and business accounts. I have never had an issue of any kind, and I use debit cards on-line a lot, everything runs through Hancock, never lost a dime. My most used card gets hacked about 3 times a year, they catch it every single time, they kill that card and send a new one I us one of my other debit cards, transfer money accordingly online. I've heard about others with issues and sounds like they played dumb or maybe they just are dumb, but you have common sense and are financially savvy this is a good bank because it seems they have little patience for idiots. read more

Stay at home order Conavirus (CANCER SURVIVOR) MOBILE DEPOSITED A CHECK SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO LEAVE HOUSE. Handcock Bank locked my account, froze my money then called me. I did everything they asked me to do to resolve this just to be hung up on and treated poorly. I have been a Handcock Customer for 10 years. I asked them to void the check just unlock my account. Their response to me was that the check was already deposited. I asked how a check can be Fraudulent and be deposited? They then hung up on me. Terrible! I was with Whitney Bank since 2003 and now it's 2019 (btw I now reside Arizona so that's why I'm sending money this way) I got a call from the finance department asking me why am I sending checks to my own checking account. The woman was condescending as heck to the point I hung up on her because she's asking me questions that she should know about her own job. Long story short; I send money from Bank of America to Han-job Whitney (pun intended) And now they can no longer accept this process of me using Bank of America bill-pay to keep money in my own checking account. I called the customer service line to ask for the main building since it's no longer in New Orleans, LA because that's the address I had to use to send the money to my account and the Han-job Whitney customer service rep said, "I can send it to any of their locations to deposit my money with BOA billpay." Absolutely no incentives to bank with Hancock Whitney! There's a $10 charge for going below a certain balance. (They told me $8 when I signed up) & they told me there would be a $20 charge to close the account, which they did not mention. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I am on hold right now. It started as an estimated 2 minute wait and now it's more than 10 minutes. Seriously ever aspect of this bank sucks! The worst banking experience of my entire life. They have have fees for everything and when they mess up they refuse to credit your account. They will hold checks for 5 business day and will allow your account to over draft even though you have checks deposited. Their customer service sucks and I would give them a lower rating if I could. When I opened my first account on the Coast with them I went to them because they have several branches and ATM's. But when I set up my automatic bill pay, they withdrew money that I had not authorized on days that they were not supposed to costing me over $180.00 in over draft fees alone. I fought them and had to talk to three different managers before they agreed to give me back 1/2 of the fees. Then when I told them to stop the online banking, they went on for three months charging me a fee for NOT using it. when I learned about it and brought it to their attention they refused to waive those fees even after admitting it was their fault. If this is your only choice, keep your money under your mattress!!! read more

Do yourself a favor and don't use Michael Buras at Hancock Whitney in Covington, LA. We went to meet him regarding a loan for some home renovations. After we paid him $500 for an appraisal of our home, he tells us that we cannot get the loan until the renovation is complete. Isn't that what we said in the meeting?? Why would we need a loan if we have completed the renovations? Also, he doesn't return phone calls or emails for approximately 4-5 days, if at all. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! Was told to send money to Uncle for operation via billpay was SUPPOSED to be fastest and safest way. He got check after 4 phone calls from bank stating they really wanted to make sure. THEN check bounced NOT BECAUSE there wasn't any money but because they had a "technical issue with one of their banks which printed false routing numbers on checks!" WTF and this is my problem how????? No apologies no let me fix this no hey we will get right on this. NOPE just told oops you will need to start over. MY uncle had to cancel his operation which to say the least is NOT GOOD! I have 4 accounts with then and will be cancelling ALL OF THEM! Run. Hancock Whitney being considered a Bank is about as accurate as McDonald's serving a 5 star burger. They can't even manage to deposit a check without depositing it, reversing it three times and being unable to figure out how to undo the erroneous process. Additionally, they lack common technology such ss ATM depositing that most Banks feature. Lastly, don't even think about calling in for support as you'll be on hold for Over 20 minutes (don't worry, the voice recording will tell you the hold time). read more

The wait in the drive thru is too long when there is no customers inside and 5 tellers. If a customer has a longer than normal transaction they should be asked to come inside. If I knew my transaction was going to take up too much time , I would have no problem going inside. This isn't just one time, this is everytime I go to the CrossRoad branch. read more

Don't use this bank unless you want a bank telling you where you can spend YOUR own money. I previously tried to place an order with Coinbase and Hancock bank rejected it, I thought it was because they thought it was fraud so I went to the bank to explain it was me and I would like to repurchase. They told me I couldn't because they do not allow transactions for any crypto-currencies. I don't know where they got the idea they can tell customers how and where to spend money, isn't this America? Obviously they realize how popular crypto-currencies are becoming and do not want to loose business competing with crypto currencies so they figure they will control customers money and won't allow customers to purchase. What's the next website they won't allow customers to purchase off of? I'm closing my account, there is no way a bank is telling me where or how to spend the money I work for. read more

After I decided to take my business somewhere else due to Hancock's junk fees and unethical behavior I went personally to the bank to close my account... They refused to close it! Now I have a locked (Can't deposit money) bank account at Hancock, open with a valid routing and account number, with zero balance and just sitting there waiting for someone to make a mistake and try to charge anything on it so the bank can charge the $35 overdraft fee and send me the bill. Since the name of the payees never show on their statements they could charge the fee even if no one try to draft from the account and I'll have no way to check if it really happened. I had to write a request to close the damn thing and send it to Hancock's central by certified mail. One more fee from them and I'm taking them to court, I don't care who's right or if it ends up costing me 10x the fee... I'll sue'em This bank is always looking for new ways to fool its clients and steal their money, just one bit at the time, they are the worst I've ever seen, stay away from them, they don't even know what 'Fair trade' means read more

Absolutely furious about loosing my free checking after being with them since 1982! They take over the coast, buying out other banks and obviously at the customers expense. I also spoke with my local branch manager who said they have some options and he would call me the next day. Nope, he didn't. The only reason I give them a one star rating is that I can't go lower and the girls at the Lyman branch are great, the company as a whole is not anything like what it used to be. They have gotten too big for their britches. They will also tell you when you call to complain about loosing free checking that almost no one does that anymore. The first bank I called does. Having been in the real estate business for over 20 years and having an impeccable credit record of both repayment and overall credit, this bank categorically handled our business with two-faced lies several times, lack of care, and full legal threats after having our impeccable business and payment record for years. The worst banking experience I have ever had in 30 years of business. After never missing a payment for four years and never being late the bank came down with threatening legal letters and a deceptively slick representative who misrepresented what the bank would and would not do. We had a good loan (for us) but a bad loan for them apparently. We cooperated but the employee was "just doing his job" in enforcing a very non-friendly, aggressive procedure. We will never bank with them again, and when asked we will relate our experience to others. When confronted with the facts, the employee simply became defensive. I give them a zero rating now that I see their true colors. Just received the "updated" contract with them. If you have a checking account - if you let it drop below $250.00 they will charge you a daily fee. If you let your savings account drop below $249.99 they will charge you a daily fee. Spoke with my local branch manager and expressed my complete dis-satisfaction with these new fees and penalties. I understand she is not the policy maker - but she just droned on about all the "free" stuff you get with Hancock - 95% of which I don't use. Told her it was pretty piss poor that Hancock is basicly saying they don't want to do business with working class people. I have a hard time having people telling me I can't use my money - which is what they are saying. I have to keep $250.00 in an account unless I want a daily penalty fee. They are so busy eating up all the other banks in the area - but want to gig the account holders for the finances. They are already gaining interest off the money I have in my account - NOW they want to stick me with additional fees if I don't keep a minimum balance. Greed is all it is. Will be going back to my credit union as soon as possible. I urge everyone who has Hancock as their bank to read the small print VERY carefully and you will see all the stick it to your ass fees they are about to add on to your account. read more

I agree whole-heartedly with Angel M. Like her I have been with them a great many years since they were known as "Peoples First Community Bank" in central Florida. My elderly parents have been there even longer than I. Due to lack of a branch near where my parents moved to several years ago, I manage their account as well as my own. As the current economy has limited my income, both accounts must reside with the same financial institution for ease of moving money between accounts. When I informed them there new "fees" of $15 a month would mean losing two accounts, one individual tried to keep our business telling me about fee waivers which may be available to help us. However, the short-sighted, greedy branch manager where the two accounts were located would only do it for one account. She could not comprehend the accounts had to be treated as a pair and not individually. I received my worst banking experience with "Julia" at the Hunt Club branch. As with Angel she tried the same tactics and excuse, "everyone charges fees now". That is wrong. In my case FAIRWINDS CREDIT UNION has received TWO NEW members without fees. No fees if over 55 or at least one direct deposit or 15 debit transactions a month. Yes Hancock Bank, there are still places without fees but you are not one of them. I gave them one star due to past great years of service instead of no stars representing their present level of service. Hancock does not care about its customers anymore and it shows. Too big, too fast. Thanks for the past many years of service Hancock, but you just lost two accounts due to your greed. read more

Hancock took over People's bank a few years ago over here in Florida, at the time I had a loan equity loan with people's and Hancock of course assumed it. The loan came due in March 2013 and I asked to simply redo it as I had every 5 years with my old bank. Hancock refused because of an 8 year old bankruptcy, so I immediately started a refinancing with 1st mortgage and home equity with another company. The refi is not completed yet and Hancock knows I'm in the middle and they send me two letters a day asking me to pay off the home equity loan and to contact my local representative to make arrangements. My local rep says just to keep paying my monthly payments as I was (which we are) and that the credit bureau has been turned off. TURNED OFF? I wasn't born yesterday. Anyway I have been calling the recovery person that has been sending me the letters twice a day and he does not return my calls. They know I"m in the middle of refi and do not care to work with me. I will close my account when this is completed and will never recommend them to anyone. I also feel two letters a day is harrasing. I am 65 years old and never had a banking experience this bad in my life. read more
