The worse bank to have. They never want to give you your money and put a hold on the stupidest amounts. They borrow money from locals bc they never seem to have their own cash and blame it on that fact why you never get anything until 5 to 7 days. They dont put a 24hour hold They take 5 to 7 days and 90% of the time its a 7 day hold thats 7 business day hold so you have to wait a extra 2 days on top of it!!! I hate this bank !!! read more

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the service I received at the Hancock Whitney Bank drive-thru location on Elysian Fields Avenue on Saturday, 01/31/2026. I arrived at the drive-thru a few minutes before 12:00 noon and was behind a white pickup truck. When I pulled up, the truck appeared as though it was about to leave, but instead the driver placed the vehicle in park and remained there for several minutes. After 12:00 noon, the driver then sent an empty canister to the teller. When I pulled up immediately afterward, the teller refused to respond or assist me in any way. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I was present before the noon closing time. I then contacted customer service to report the incident. I waited approximately 20 minutes to speak with a representative, who showed little concern about what had occurred and did not seem interested in documenting or addressing the issue. This experience was unprofessional and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I've had at the Elysian Fields Avenue location, and it has left me seriously considering moving my banking elsewhere. This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. They are so incredibly security uptight and will make you come into a branch to verify identity even after you are approved to open an account. It doesn't matter if the bank is 30+ miles from where you live. In my wife's case, immediately after she was approved for checking, they restricted access to her account. No online access, and they even had the audacity to reject her direct deposit for TWO MONTHS. We couldn't even access it by ATM. Calls to customer service, after waiting on hold for some time and escalating to supervisors, were never returned. Then they started charging monthly fees, and after a couple months they successfully managed to steal our opening deposit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK FOR REAL. They are absolutely horrible, and the FDIC really should shut them down for fraud. read more

They seem great, until you have a fraud dispute. Once someone has your money from your Hancock Whitney account, it's theirs forever. The "fraud department" does not speak with customers ever in any way, so you're stuck talking to customer service reps who have no idea what they're talking about. They will tell you over and over for weeks that your claim is "pending" while in fact it's already been denied. No appeal process, no recourse, no notification. They like to present themselves as a hometown bank and make you think they care about you, but it's all just advertising lies. Stick with one of the big banks, at least they know how to handle fraud. When I brought my 15,000.00 check to them I was told they would release 200-300 for my use after a couple of days. After I signed the check and deposited , I was told no I'd have no funds for the entire 7 business days. I had an emergency and needed to fly to Florida. I asked the branch to please be flexible and allow me just the 200. I was originally promised. The young lady who was on the phone with me was quite abrupt and boarding on nasty. I got upset and stated I was going to withdraw my entire 15,000.00 after it cleared. Her response was exactly this " I really don't care go right ahead. I feel very slighted she would not even ask a branch mgr if there was any flexibility with this at all. Then got very nasty . Whitney Hancock must have 100's of folks walking into this branch daily with large checks of this amount wanting people to open accounts bc she sure could have cared less if I was to go elsewhere with my business. I also have a reoccurring deposit every month of approximately 2600.00 that I was going to have direct deposited in your bank! I've been receiving these funds since 2002. But with the attitude of that particular branch associate I really am having to decide if I want to do my banking with a bank and a bank associate that I'm totally unimportant to and has no flexibility at all for a emergency situation that I was facing. I actually had to be stuck calling a friend and they Zelled me cash into my Wells Fargo account thank god for the good people in this world which in my opinion doesn't include Hancock Whitney. I guess I should have just taken my check to where it would have been appreciated Wells Fargo bank in Florida! We are a Bookkeeping Service. I logged into Hancock Whitney, they needed to confirm my identity. 10 minutes later while working in Quickbooks Online, I went to update banking transactions...once again I had to verify my identity. An hour later I logged back into Hancock and YES, I once again HAD TO VERIFY MY IDENITY. Actually they were verifying my client's identity, so this involved a back and forth with text messages with him to get a code. While this may be protective banking, it's also ANNOYING!!! This 1 star is for the mortgage service not directed at any one branch or person in a branch!! The company they use is awful. Their computer system apparently gets holidays off. It's a computer!!!! It does NOT recognize my phone number that it texts me and calls me on about a late payment! The computers take 5 or more days to talk to each other when a payment is made!!! read more

These people are horrible! They refuse to help. This is in regards to the phone help as they asked me a set of "verification questions" they refuse to give me the origin of, except to say they're from "public records," that I knew 2 of but the others were about where people who I have no knowledge of live. I couldn't answer those, so they wouldn't help me. I can't get to the bank when they're open physically, so this presents a real problem and impacts my life and ability to access my money. Try any other bank before this one. I gave them my name and the last 4 of my SSN. I was calling from the phone number they have on file for me. I could give them pet's name and mother's maiden name, etc. I hate these people so much. My 14 month .20% CD rolled over without any notice to a .05% 14 month CD.Realizing a few days after the maturity date I attempted to terminate the .05% CD and was informed there would be a 2% early withdrawal penalty applied.Though the employees at the local branch are all very pleasant the decision came from corporate.Unbelieveable! read more

Our banker called us because we needed to update our filing with the Secretary of State. We went to the Louisiana Secretary of State website and updated our annual report. I have called the Carrollton branch repeatedly during business hours to let our banker know but they do not answer their phone. Our banker did not even give us a card so we do not know his name nor have a direct number to call him. read more

When I have a check deposited into MY BANK, having a hold put on this check, which I have an account with, then charging me overdraft fees during this unnecessary hold of monies is just plain criminal. There is literally no time this bank is open that I'm not at work. - Non-existent customer service. I exist online. I do all my banking online. This bank's online account has been IMPOSSIBLE for me to get set up. When is their customer service available? Oh, only the same times the bank is open, WHEN I'M AT WORK. I don't know about Whitney as a whole, but I'm not pleased with the service at this branch. When I first opened my account, I was greeted with "What you need?" by a "manager" who proceeded to spend 45 minutes setting up my account between having a personal conversation with her coworkers. That should have been a sign. Since then, almost every teller there has been rude or short to me in some way or another (notice I say "almost"; some of them have been really nice, which is the ONLY reason that I gave them two stars instead of one). The last straw was today. Long story short, the teller deposited my money into someone else's account. I called the branch to get it rectified, and I was told, again by a "manager", that the teller who assisted me was on lunch and I would have to wait until she got back, and even then, the money "should" be in my account today. This is ridiculous. I don't have an issue with Whitney in general, but please think twice before doing business at this branch. read more

this bank will lie to you about overages. upon opening an account I was told I had overage protection and that any charges that couldn't be covered would bounce back. this bank also cannot support zelle, venmo, or even make a deposit at the ATM! For this reason I opened up an acct at Chase and put off closing the Witney account until it cooled down enough to walk over there, thinking my acct was safe from overages. wrong! they had over 200 dollars of overages! and then had the nerve to tell me that I only can't get overages on my card ut I can if I give out my account number, to which I said, I did not give out my acct number, I have to update my card info every time I get a new one ( things like Apple music) they said I must have given the acct number if there's an overage. these guys are theifs and liars and they do bad business. also they are a bank that is behind the times and inconvenient to bank with. read more

Hopeless! The bank supplied mail-in envelopes for depositing checks by mail, and has refused their own envelope, which are addressed to WHITNEY P.O. BOX 61260. The returned deposits are labeled "refused unable to forward". When King Milling was president of the bank, it was a good bank. Now TERRIBLE!! read more
