If I could give zero stars, I would. Hand & Stone has some of the most misleading and dishonest membership practices I've ever dealt with. When you try to cancel, they tell you it's just a "small charge" -- but in reality, it ends up being another full-priced $90 service that you're forced to pay for whether you want it or not. And it gets worse. Even after signing their cancellation paperwork, they continue charging your bank account and keep your membership active as if nothing happened. It feels deceptive, predatory, and completely unprofessional. I highly recommend avoiding a membership with them and this establishment altogether unless you want to spend your time fighting charges you never agreed to and chasing down a cancellation that should have been simple. read more

This is my 3rd time with Chris and honestly, he is the BEST!! I have herniated discs in my neck and arthritis n my knees. I get massages at least monthly wherever I am as I travel a lot. I wanted to try a cryofacial to rejuvenate my face and was not disappointed. I am about to turn 70 and have a lot of deep wrinkles and sun damage from 40 years of living in Florida. I was impressed with the before and after photos and liked the idea that this was completely non invasive and showed results very quickly. I purchased 5 sessions and had my first one this past Monday. I was pleasantly surprised at the results I saw right away. My deep wrinkles were definitely not as deep and my skin was much smoother to the touch. In addition, it is much less expensive than the more invasive procedures which require a Nurse Practitioner to administer. I can't wait to go back for the rest of my treatments. When you book with H&S massage you must provide a credit card. That way if you don't show up they charge you full price! Last week I booked a massage and provided my credit card as per their "policy". I received several reminders via phone calls and text messages to confirm my appointment and reminders that if I didn't show full charges would result. After looking forward to this for a week, taking off, planning a full day of R&R this was central to a relaxing day, I got a call this morning saying, "Therapist had to cancel for a medical emergency and there are no other therapists at that time. How about another day?" I get it - emergencies happen. But this is the best part - I asked if I would get $100 for the therapist not showing? I mean if I don't show you charge me so what do I get now that you're are basically a "no show"? The answer you ask? "We will move your appointment without a fee" You are NOT going to charge me because YOUR employee isn't showing? As a customer you get nothing if they cancel on you. But if you cancel - be prepared to pay. And finally, the person calling me acted like they were doing me a favor for not charging me? This is offensive. This is backwards mentality and obviously requires re-training and a new approach to therapists cancelling on customers. read more

Wouldn't go back. Bailey did a good job on my massage except it was only 45 min long and she didn't do any scalp or arms/legs when I was on my back. ALSO, I got CHARGED TWICE for the service. Hubs had given me a gift card for my birthday for the full amount $128! My boyfriend purchased a massage and a facial for my birthday as well as a 3 month membership for me to get a massage and prepaid for tips. Every single time I have gone it has been nothing but problems. Each time they tell me I don't have credits and try to charge me. Then also ask for a tip when it has already been prepaid. I also specifically asked if I had to use the massages within 3 months of the membership purchase because I travel often and and received a response of "no you can use them whenever you want" and that was apparently not true. They have told me I have no credits and I can't get the last massage that was already paid for because it wasn't within 3 months of the purchase date any longer. The experience is supposed to relieve stress but I get stressed every time I have had to interact with them. Maybe it is better for regular members but it has been a nightmare. I recently visited the Daytona Beach location for Hand and Stone. AMAZING is all I can say. I was greeted so politely by the receptionist (I forgot to get her name), she let me know my appointment would begin soon and my message would be first. The lobby plays relaxing music to get you right in the mood for a relaxing session. Katrina was my message therapist. She was hands down the best. I told her my preferences and where I felt needed the most work. She really knew just what to do, thanks girl!!! Immediately after my message I was taken to another room for my facial. I believe her name was Melisa, only one S, we had a whole convo about it that I will save for a later date. Anyways, this lady has fingers of an angel!!! She's also very knowledgeable in her products and skin care. I asked questions about what she was using and she took the time to explain the process. The page does not load well in certain browsers. They applied my gift card to the wrong person. They charged my credit card for a massage that was supposed to be applied to the gift card. I am a regular customer of Hand & Stone in Daytona Beach. Not only for physical health maintenance and repairs, but also for many other motives. It is about the people and the specialists first of all. I work with Mr. Chris. When you have therapy with him it is heavenly. He knows to go along the nerves and to apply such special combinations of pressure and rub that the pain and discomfort literary leaves the body and let room for a better breathing, calm state of mind, 100% relaxation, optimism, you name it. The sessions I have are beyond massage, beyond chiropractic, they often touch a spiritual and psychological relief. Lately Mr. Chris applied a technique of combining silicone suction cup massage with traditional massage, and this was the state of the art of all relieves, the text book of the best possible treatment. But it is all around you that makes you feel happy and relaxed: the welcoming desk people, the atmosphere, music, sounds, water running, fragrances, decorations, art on the walls and around. One interesting fact: Since I love to get there 5-10 minutes in advance, just to sit in the armchair by the wall plate with running water and fragrances and let me sink in all these, I can see people exiting the door after finalizing treatment. I highly recommend this spa location in Daytona. They offer gifts and promotions which is great for gifts or just to treat yourself even more! I was gifted a massage for the holidays and to be honest I was so excited it sounded like exactly what I needed. I never thought dealing with this place would cause more stress. So when i scheduled my appointment I had The whole day off this message was the highlight of that day I was truly looking forward to it. Unfortunately we live in a world where a pandemic is going on amd my job was short staffed and they called me into work that day. I went to work and called Hand and Stone as soon as I could to reschedule my appointment. I was upset I had to do this because I was so excited for this. When I got on the phone a young lady proceeded to inform me that i could reschedule but I would have to pay 50% of my massage for a cancellation fee. This was a gift that someone already paid for and now they wanted me to pay for it a again. I asked the young lady to speak to a manager she said she was not in. I was work and really didn't have time to talk so I told her I would call back later to speak to her. I called back at my lunch and Was told the same. Thing by the assistant manager that sorry but we take half the massage if you cancel within 24 hours. I asked the girl if I had Covid And I called and told you I was sick would you charge me the 50% and she said no because that is their staff at risk. My reason for calling to change the appointment was due to covid as well it just wasn't me who was sick it was multiple people at my job but I told the truth and didn't lie and that Doesn't count as part of a pandemic reason to them. Two days goes by and the owner calls me I guess to "fix" the issue but all she ended up doing is saying the same thing the first girl did and telling me if I spoke against them on Facebook or social she would get a Lawyer for defamation of character. Which can only happen if I say something that's incorrect or untrue. Bottom line is IN MY OPINION this company isn't willing to work around the fact that there's a pandemic going on in the world and other companies are short staffed and employees get called in to their jobs. They would rather charge me a cancel fee then keep me as a client who would have tipped the girl well over the $ it cost to cancel. I don't recommend this Location.I say location because this is a franchise and one may be different then the others they apparently don't have a corporate that sets the standards for customer service for them so hopefully the others are more understanding to the current situation in the world. read more
