Initially, when I stumbled up on "My Schoolhouse" I was relieved that I located a tutoring center…read morewithin reasonable driving distance. My fear however, was whether the school would meet the needs of my child. My initial meet with the director Ms. Donahue, was brief because I was press for time. I decided to return to the school, because of what I had witness on my initial visit. I was intrigued with the children's attention and interaction. On my second visit, my daughter and I met with Mrs. Donahue, whom is not only pleasant but also attentive. I was pleased with the academic and life skills that the school offered. To say the least, our second visit, was my daughters first day at "My Schoolhouse. Overall, I am pleased with the "My Schoolhouse" contribution towards the improvement of my daughter skills and academic education. Ms. Donahue is simply amazing and I am grateful to have such a caring and accomplished teacher to educate my daughter.

My daughter attended My School House during the 2023-2024 school year. I'm leaving this here…read morebecause they've disabled Google reviews, and I think parents should be aware. In my opinion, the school isn't what it's made out to be. The owner has a strong sales pitch, but the actual curriculum felt very watered down. I tried to set up a parent-teacher conference early on and kept getting the runaround. I also found out that many of the "teachers" are college /highschool students without formal credentials. That alone might be fine, but when I asked about the curriculum, no one could really explain it, and the owner was rarely around. There were also some concerning incidents. One staff member fired a teacher in front of the class while yelling and using inappropriate language, which upset the kids. There was also a situation where a younger student and an older teen locked themselves in a bathroom, and that same teen was later caught watching inappropriate content on a school computer with little supervision. Overall, it just didn't feel like a safe or structured environment. I really hope things have improved, but I wanted to share my experience so other families can make an informed decision. I will never recommend this school to anyone.

This school is in a category all its own. We were fortunate enough to hear about it from a friend…read moreand it sounded exactly like what we were looking for. We enrolled our 9 year old son in 3rd grade in 2017 and the school/staff/philosophy/quality has far surpassed our expectations. The founder and principal, Wendy Soderman, is a visionary and is extremely bright. She has successfully created a culture where quality education, teaching of virtues, and integration of EQ, are woven into the daily experience for the students. One of the first things that caught my attention is that the cafeteria has been designed to look like a quaint, outdoor communal dining area. To me, this sent an immediate message that Ideal is attempting to create an atmosphere of community and innovation, rather than at atmosphere of institutionalization and conformity. This is a microcosm of the bigger picture at Ideal. They provide structure and order, but they also provide fun, laughter, community involvement, emphasis on self-awareness, enriching experiences, and fresh ideas. The teachers and staff are AMAZING!!! They are passionate about their jobs and it shows. They treat the kids with dignity and they help them really work through things, individually and together. It is the kind of school that most of us adults wish we could've gone to as children. I wanted to write a review because I find reviews extremely helpful when searching for quality businesses and organizations. We all want to find the best places for our kids. If you're one of those parents searching, look no further. Ideal School truly is ideal.

So after 13 years at IDEAL, it is that time to move on to have two high schoolers. I feel so…read moreblessed that I found my way to that school. I remember searching for a preschool that would be nurturing, as well as a place for where my kids could grow and learn. IDEAL allowed me to be part of the journey... helping create memories for all the children with setting up different activities and parties... the teachers are truly like family and the connection there is not something I think can be felt anywhere else. I look back through the years and think, "JUST WOW..." This place has really made an impact. How do you really say goodbye to a second home? The reality is that you really don't. The lessons my children have been taught will carry them on for the rest of their lives and the memories we have made will last a lifetime. Thank you IDEAL for what you do. For anyone looking for a school to start their children in... I urge you to look here.
