    Amazing savory dishes...
    Bader A.

Pros: Lovely all around. Super friendly staff. Fast service. The food is delicious. MUST TRY! Cons: Absolutely nothing!

    £6.59

Overall it was a nice little cafe, the pancakes were the right price-not too much but not cheap, cheap. The pancakes were very tasty and nice and warm but I thought that the customer service could improve. We went around 9 in the morning, it wouldn't hurt to put a smile on and be a little more friendly. The waiter we had was actually quite rude and I felt rushed to pay and as if he wanteed us to leave.

Amazing pancake menu for breakfast and all day too!!

Amazing American pancake diner. Great choice of sweet and savoury extra. Brill with kids. Plus the coffee is good too.

After a heavy night I took my friend here for brunch. On the outside it looks closed. Walking up the stairs exposes a open kitchen and large seating area with cacti everywhere and a cool kat clock over looking the place. The service was enjoyable from start to finish..90 percent of staff including the chef looked genuinely happy to be working there dancing to the music smiling as they cooked and served. It gave it a buzz! The menu consists of well..a American diner..from the special board I chose the maple pecan nut shake and the Benny crab cakes.. my friend had the spinach and poached eggs dish with fresh mint tea. The Shake was huge and yummy and while I waited for my food I kept seeing indulgent stacks of pancakes being whisked away. My poached eggs were oozy and perfect and the crab cakes.. well very crabby! And rich..to break it up there was water melon on the side which refreshed the palette. My friend really enjoyed hers too. I really want to come back here :( please extend your opening times!!

They served up a fantastic matcha latte, and Liz got a cappuccino. I thought this place was a fine place to eat breakfast, or if we wanted to get a coffee or tea to go. Liz and 'Em had pancakes... although it looked like smaller portions they were filled quickly. I had a morning brekkie with meat, which came with toast, bacon, a small tub of beans, roasted tomato and spinach, and toasted eggs. It was all pretty delicious. The server offered sauces (hot sauce or ketchup). I was pretty content with the food. All types of folks come in and all are treated the same. If you're up around the area - or on the way to the World Museum, stop by.

It's a fresh and bright place, with a display of varying ice cream flavours depending on when you go. They also regularly run competitions to create a new flavour as the owner tells us, and when we were there she mentioned that the current competition flavour has a theme of "Sweet Shop Classics", in which the winner wins a tub of their own creation. Fab idea! * Although they also offer some incredibly tempting looking pies, scones, and freshly made pancakes, we were in an ice cream mood, and so had a look at some of the lovely flavours available, which on the day we visited included Creme Egg, Jam Roly Poly, Daim Bar, and Parma Violet. We were also invited to try some of the flavours before we decided what we'd like, and frankly that cemented the Parma Violet for me! We could've gone for a cone or a tub, but we decided to look at the very tempting sundae menu, and both chose "Mr Toots" which was two flavours of ice cream of our choice, with some crunchy bits, cream, a cone, and a fab little sparkler. I had Creme Egg and Parma Violet, and Phil R had Daim Bar and Jam Roly Poly. We loved the presentation, and agreed that they were delicious, and went down very well! They were also pretty good value compared to many other of the new boutique ice cream parlours that have popped up in recent times. The owner and staff when we were there were very friendly and welcoming, and as I enjoyed a pot of tea with a delicious home-made biscuit, I was able to watch another member of staff making fresh pancakes. There's something very pleasant about seeing it done fresh just for you! Coupling this with the value and quality of the offerings, and its location in Botany Bay with its free car park, I can guarantee that we'll be visiting again. I've got my eye on one of those colossal sized scones for next time! .... or that toffee fudge sundae... or maybe some pancakes. Oh god I don't know now! *The winner this time round was Wham! bar! Yum!

I've been converted .. any time I can get into Manchester first 8am I make sure to head to moose for breakfast. The service is always exceptional and the place is doing so well with more and more places opening up and it makes me so happy. The servers are always so nice, and the food is always so good .. I usually go for the grande bouche (French toast with bacon) or veggie version (no bacon) and it is to die for. You get 2 large brioche french toasts and a very generous serving of real maple syrup and I can't get enough. I usually put some syrup in my coffee and Ooof. The portion is great ... From what we learned, Moose is a small chain around the UK, and known for its hearty North American-inspired menu. Definitely true - the menu had plenty of US classics like benedicts, pancakes, waffles, and hash dishes. I was actually surprised by how many things were available, as the cafe itself wasn't all that big. Small enough even that we couldn't even get a seat inside! No problem at all though, as we were instead able to sit in their outside area which lined a cute cobblestone alley, adjacent to some shops. I've said it before, and I'll say it again for the typical American traveler... in England, do NOT expect service to be what you're used to. You'll certainly wait to be tended too, and the visits from a server are very limited. In no way do I mean this as a complaint, it's actually kind of nice to not feel rushed and practice patience :) All in all, the staff who did take care of us were very sweet! My husband had an americano and I enjoyed my flat white (I swear I've loved every coffee I've ever had during England trips). For food I got the lula puebla, which was a fancy avo toast. The smashed avocado was fresh and well-seasoned, and the toasted sourdough it was smeared across was so thick and delicious. Even more delicious was the chipotle chilli jam that came atop of it. It also had feta, chilli flakes, and two poached eggs. I was definitely a fan! My husband also really liked his eggs benedict that included griddled Serrano ham. I know, I know, travel all this way only to have a US-style breakfast but hey it did the trick! Wouldn't hesitate to pop in another Moose location in the future.

This tiny, Parisian themed cafe is situated on the Albert Docks in Liverpool and after hearing my best friend describe their pancakes as "the best in Liverpool" I had to go check out this place for myself. I took an old friend there when she came to visit me and ordered the cheese, tomato and egg crepe but asked to swap the egg for ham whilst my friend opted for steak and chips, which apparently was actually quite edible unlike my meal. The crepe looked pretty impressive when delivered to my table but was one of the blandest meals I've ever eaten in my life with next to no flavour, even with the several toppings I ordered, even adding sauces, salt and pepper to the dish. The place looks very classy indeed from the outside and as though it is the kind of place a formal dinner should be had or something for a special occasion. The place proclaims a lot of itself which I suppose is a typical sign of French arrogance which is not a bad thing at all as long as you deliver on the bold promises that are being made. The problem here is that I do not believe this place does deliver to the level it could do. I have eaten at many French restaurants and recently returned from a few days in the wonderful city of Paris and unfortunately this place does not quite measure up. In fact I believe places such as Bistro Franc and Cafe rouge which are slightly less central and expensive both offer a closer experience to that of France itself. This place promises much but unfortunately delivers little.
