This review is long overdue. 8 years long to be exact. Mr. Hanlon represented a family member years ago. He was with him from the beginning all the way until his citizenship. Over the years, Mr. Hanlon (and his staff) have always been efficient, honest, courteous and fair. What I liked about Mr. Hanlon is that he didn't promise he would win. Why, you ask? Because each case is different and each one has it's own intricacies. It would be difficult for me to swallow an idea that someone promises to win all cases at all cost. What Mr. Hanlon did do was deliver an honest timeline and honest expectations with respect to the case. Additionally, Mr. Hanlon is fair when it comes to attorney fees. For those that would rate him down because the fees were expensive, well, attorney fees usually are. He's a good man but he he's not working pro-bono and everyone needs to earn a living including the attorney. Attorneys are almost like mechanics. You either get one that swindles you, takes your money and leaves you broken down on the side of the road OR you get one that actually knows the ins and outs of their profession. Bottom line: Mr. Hanlon is very knowledgeable in immigration law and is an honest attorney. read more

We needed the help of an attorney that specialized in Immigration law so we chose Daniel Hanlon Law Group. Daniel took us on for a flat fee which covered us until the trial with the immigration judge. Little did he know how long it would be dragged out with COVID in 2020 and then stretching out into 2022. We finally had our hearing and we won!!! We were allowed a change of status and will be allowed a green card now. We had so much paperwork to submit to the courts and Vivian was there every step of the way helping Daniel and his team. Vivian was there late at night returning our calls and helping us with each form that needed to be filled out and filed by them for us. We ended up working with them for several years all for the initial price. We only had to pay if something needed to be resubmitted after it expired over time like a work permit or the fingerprints. We are so happy we chose this firm and these people because of their valuable knowledge and their thoroughness in documentation which meant only having to submit one time because they did it right the first time. I first met Atty. Hanlon in 2015 when I consulted his law firm to help me fix my papers here in the US, being a newly married guy and first time to move in the US. The process was painless and I felt like He is not a lawyer, but more of a friend and a brother. My first three years in the US went on smoothly then all of a sudden, things turned turbulent that I had to consult again at Atty. Daniel for help. I was his client from January 2016 until June 3,2016. I terminated his services because not only did he fail to do what he said he could do with 80 percent chance, he even failed to do the first simple task to get my case started. (The task that he never mentioned there is a chance to fail for.) I have spoken to other lawyers who couldn't believe what he had done. They had never seen anyone fail to do such a simple thing except this guy.According to these lawyers the reason for the failure was the poor submission and documentation which he submitted to the court.  Although I was aware of his inconsistent opinions over little things, I tried to trust his main point, ability to do what he said he could do and respected him till very end. I have wasted $$$$ only for him to fail to get my case started. I had an early indication that there was going to be a problem. His office once lost my very important documents and almost never found them. Right after I hired Daniel, I provided his paralegal with my supporting documents, which she misplaced.  Both paralegal and Daniel accused me of losing them or never having them. I tried to fire him at this point , but he said "Documents don't just evaporate. Maybe you have them at home." Well, documents don't just evaporate, that's what I wanted to tell them, not to be told.  He convinced me not to fire him by saying, "Even if you never had the documents, I can still request them" Like he thought I've never had the documents in the first place and he was doing me a favor? The documents were subsequently found the next day in his office. I should have known then that there was going to be a problem. He did apologize for taking time to find them, however never apologized for accusing me of losing or never having the documents. I actually never found him genuinely compassionate but I did like when he explained that he has a by the book style strategy when dealing with legal matters (although the way he handled my case, I am not certain he has the same book as other lawyers). I tend to forgive people and try to find the best in people and I did the same for him (For him, I shouldn't have) and continued to trust him after this. He told me many things which were not true, including that he always wins or someone with  worse fact pattern as me just won their case. He lied to me about a lot of things to make me convinced to originally sign his contract and then not to cancel it, not in a pushy way but by trying to look genuine and sincere. Despite his lies and failures, I wanted to do the right thing by notifying him in person that I was terminating his services. Rather than respect my decision, all he did was disrespecting me and acted rude which convinced me that he is certainly not a good person and that I made the right decision in terminating his contract. The way he acted made me think that it might even be possible that he knew he didn't do his best for my case. His true color is a crook, rude and corrupt person. The problem is that he knows how to be corrupt in a lawful way. My sister is a lawyer and she doesn't try to make money in a way that he does. This is how I know how corrupt he is. He has no real compassion for others. I do have a contract showing I was his client, have a friend who witnessed his lies, and have evidence that he lost my documents. He provided me with a small refund, even though money will not resolve the problems he created for me, and a letter explaining himself with lies and an invoice that included many incorrect charges, including $45 for reading my email "thank you so much"($450/hour), charging attorney fee of $450/hour for email that was reviewed by his paralegal, charging time to look for documents that his office lost, charging $45 attorney fee for talking to receptionist for 10 seconds (after I terminated him), charging $135 to read termination letter. He sent me a letter with his final invoice where he indicated that he is truthful and reasonable, which is impossible to believe given how he treated me and my case and especially given the outrageous invoice he sent me. I am truly sorry I ever met him. read more
