I am filing a complaint against Diane Chong (Mi Ryoung), licensed real state agent and Hanmi realty for not refunding commissions paid for a rental that was never available for possession.
On May 29th 2012 I signed a lease agreement for a housein Flushing with a move in date of June 15th. This rental location was found by our real estate agent of Winzone Realty and the property was listed by Diane Chong (Mi Ryoung) of Hanmi realty. As per our agreement I paid $1500 commission to our agent and $1500 to the listing agent as well as the deposit and one month rent to the landlord on the day we signed the lease.
On June 15th we had all our furniture packed and ready for the move but when I went to the landlord to get the keys, I found out that they had not been able to vacate the premises and were unable to provide possession. I informed the respective agents and went back the next day to resolve the issue with the landlord. After speaking with the landlord, we agreed to cancel the lease because it was going to take too long before the house would be available.
I called my agent the same day and she returned her portion of the money the next day and told me that the listing agent had told her that she needs a week to return the money.
After a week my agent contacted me and told me that Ms. Chong no longer wants to return the commission and that when she contacted Ms. Chong's broker, she got the same answer.
Than I tried speak to the owner of the Hamni realty, Don Bok . He refuse to hear my complaint nor the nature of my call. His words to me was " Sue me" & than hung up on me
