I am an avid south Jersey golfer. Have played most of the courses in the area. This course is very run down compared to most while still charging a premier course rate. The carts barely ran! The girl at the bar was great, but the Marshalls were RIDICULOUS on this course. We were playing 15 minutes behind (because of waiting on a group in front of us) and were told THREE times to speed up to the point we were running to our balls even though nobody was on tee behind us. Have never had that happen before. Was wild. Totally harassed during our round. Won't be back and don't recommend. Way to stuffy for the level of course quality read more

What a surreal day to play golf. I was visiting relatives in the south jersey area for a wedding and decided to spend a half day to play some golf. My brother lives in the area and has went to this course numerous times with his son and clients and never had any issues. Well today, 06/15/18 was different. After booking our tee time we arrived, paid the cashier and headed out. The starter was able to get us to start early and it was wide open. No groups in front or behind and the weather was perfect. When we got to the second hole, the range marshal pulled up to us and asked if I had golf shoes. I told him I did not since I'm visiting from out of state and didn't bring golf shoes. He said that's fine, just the next time bring your golf shoes. I said OK. Then we get to the third hole and he pulled up to us again to remind us that we need to wear golf shoes next time. We said OK again. We wrap up the forth hole and the same Marshal pulls up to us yet again and this time he stated "The management says you have to leave". Mind you that we are playing at a perfect pace, not drinking and repairing any divots. Perfect behavior and no reason for the Marshal to even come by us. We were escorted back to the clubhouse by the range Marshal. We went in and told the cashier that you seen our outfits, the starter seen us and the other Marshall's seen us and nobody said anything about my flip flops. I even told him they are golf flip flops! The Marshall said that we can get a rain check and I said again " I don't live around here so I need a refund". They obliged. Sad thing was My brother has quite a few employees and he was going to set up a Christmas party at their facility. They lost a customer. Thanks for destroying a great today. It saddens me that there are great historic battlefields all throughout this part of Jersey were patriots fought for liberty and freedom to only become such a uptight rules, rules ,rules nanny state. read more

Hanover Golf Club - Golf Near Me - Wrightstown, New Jersey

First nine lulls you into a false sense of security, then the back nine brings you back to reality that you're really not that good.....at least in my case. Course was in good condition. Tee boxes were not too chewed up. Rough was a little high, which was not good for losing balls, but the idea is not to hit into the rough. Fairways were good and the greens were in good condition and FAST !!!! My only complaint are the WEEDS !!! Clover all over the place, which was the biggest downside. 18 ate my lunch, and dinner.....but for the price on a weekday afternoon, it's a good value. read more

Worst staff and worst run golf club I've ever been to. 75% of their tee times canceled due to possible rain (it never rained all day). Not a single group in front of us all day due to cancelations. Group begins us we're our friends and we had a full hole of separation from them from the 3rd hole onward. No other foursomes as far as the eye could see. We were told repeatedly to pick up the pace even though there was no possibility of a backlog of groups. Rangers out on the course constantly following us for no reason. Blonde female employee rushing us on the 10th hole right after we purchased drinks and food from the clubhouse (and had a good 20 minutes of separation from the group behind us). No cart girls anywhere on the course, would've been nice to be out there selling water on a hot humid day. Golf carts weren't permitted in the parking lot, first time that's occurred to us for any course we played this year. Finished 18 hole within the normal pace of play time written on the scorecard. No employees to be found after completion of 18 hole. They all probably just wanted to leave 2 hours early from closing time. Will never be going back here again. read more

Golfed at this course for the first time. Great price. Well maintained with especially nice greens and tee off areas. Was very frustrated by the placement of the No Cart signs placed a considerable distance from the greens. It meant carrying several clubs and schlepping a good distance every hole. Made for slower game and a lot of walking. Also, on another note, the Ladies Bathroom Facility was very outdated, bleak and needs repair (one of the toilets actually rocks off of the floor). read more

Middle of the road course in the middle of the state. Nice layout, not very expensive or crowded but the greens need some TLC. I'll go back. The 18th hole is the signature hole, an over 610 yard par five over water, fun stuff! read more

Looking for the the best golf in central NJ for the money? Hanover has to be on your list! Seniors $25 w/cart after 12pm. Greens are challenging and very good condition. Fairways well maintained. No frills for sure, but an excellent cost effective way to improve your game for the $$. Cart paths, bunkers and rough area needs some work on a few holes but who plays there anyway? This course was considered a dog track 10'years ago. The new owners have done an outstanding job revitalizing it. Word is starting to get around, but I hope they keep putting money back into course improvements which they have been over the last 4 years! Well done management! 19th hole is small and basic but again this is not Trump National. The dogs are good! Very good value and conditions for the routine, twice a week retired golfer, who is mindful of a budget. read more

The first thing to mention regarding HGC is that it is cheap ... or to be kind, affordable. The issue with a location being affordable, whether it be a golf club, bar or restaurant, is that it tends to show. This is generally the case with Hanover Golf Club. The bunkers are stiff and the tee boxes are well travelled. My wife and I played 18 the other day and the ladies tees are dismal. It is a very fair course, only a couple dog legs and good distance. My biggest issue was nit that they were out of chicken fingers in the clubhouse but that the yardage markers were way off ... very inaccurate. Hanover Golf Club - The monster ... longest par 5 in jersey - Golf Near Me - Wrightstown, New Jersey

My parents and I visited this golf club a couple of weeks ago. This was the first time we golfed in a long time so we were a little rusty to say the least. The staff hired to get us set up with clubs and golf carts was so rude. Had a nasty attitude and told us to "hurry up" because other people would be behind us. Meanwhile I didn't see a soul behind us until we were on hole 5. I didn't come here to deal with miserable uppity golf employees but it was a nice time once we were a few holes in. read more

I REALLY liked playing at Hanover. I was actually shocked at how well maintained the course was, considering that it is A) pretty damn affordable (by golf standards) and B) a public course. In fact, the twosome we played with actually annoyed me quite a bit, as they kept taking divots with their practice swings, and really didn't seem to care that they were tearing up the fairways. ugh. The greens were healthy and even, with good breaks. (I tried to fix as many ball marks as I could! Again, it seems the clientele may be the worst thing about this course.) There were holes with changes in elevation, the traps were raked and the hazards were enough to be challenging without being frustrating. The course wasn't crowded, but I played during the day on a Friday, so that may have had something to do with it. The yard markers are off, but thats really the only REAL knock I could find, other than the beer is a bit expensive. I plan to play this course many more times in the future. read more

Made a reservation for 32 golfers for May 4th. After making the reservation I received a call several hours later advising me that I can play Hanover as long as I give them a $200.00 deposit. With all the golf courses in New Jersey this is one of the least desirable courses to play. We have been playing Hanover for over 15 years but I was so upset at their demands that I cancelled my reservation, will no longer do business with Hanover and found a golf course more than happy to accommodate my group. . read more

I haven't played Hanover in prob 8 years but I'll tell you what the greens roll true and for a public course are fairly quick. Staff is very friendly and the price $32 on a weekend at 2 pm is one of the best deals in the area . I saw a review on here where a customer complained because he made a reservation for 32 people and they asked him for a $200 deposit well that's just common business sense how can you expect to make a reservation for 32 people and not expect to have some sort of deposit . It's a business thAt depends on tee times being booked and if you were to not show or didn't call to cancel that would be a loss of revenue of nearly $1000 I would not have 1 issue giving a deposit for that large a booking . I have been playing Hanover for the last 5 years and the course has become one of the best in the area. The course is in great shape and the greens have never been better they are smooth and fast.The course layout is challenging and will give golfers of all capability a lot to think about. Hanover is also one of the most reasonable courses to play $$$ I have played courses for twice the price that don't even come close to the condition that this course is in. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more
