Over the last 11 Months with "E W Smith Agency" we found that our agent does not follow through with issues and/or question that we asked for like; 1. We question the age of our home stated it was over 55 years old or on that policy implies our ages? 2. This agent informed us that if we lease a Hyundai that we would be penalized and would have an "Increase in the insurance costs" so we took agent advice and leased a GMC terrain only to find out we had a increase in insurance anyway. Called him and he stated "I will run another quote" it has been (Two Days) not response! The GMC Dealer told us that the Insurance should go down! Know we have to find another insurance agent and we did and the insurance is the same as before! WOW you have check out Insurance Agent also! When we called to cancel our Auto Insurance and informed this FIRM that we are going to change our agent on our home owners insurance they sent cancellation notice not only our car, but our home as well. Called there office and what a "trip" they informed me that I told them cancel our car and home! Read my above paragraph above! All hell broke out then. Agency is unprofessional to a point that; Citizens, Foremost and all other insurance companies should not use this FIRM. Then the agent called us told us it is not my fault it is your problem. Agent quoted "You have to find another agent for your home owner's policy" like we do not want you and yours at our agency. We informed this agent that we already found another agent to service our foremost policy and this agent seems that we did not do that yet! Well this is the way this Agency handles customers! The Hanover Insurance Group had never contacted me following this accident. I made a number of attempts to contact them by leaving voice mail messages and online contact to no avail. When I finally made contact with them, their representative George Vasquez said "they tried to contact me and sent letters out to my address." I was upset with their false claim. I informed him that my phone number is listed in the phone book, additionally the police report lists my Insurance Company Amica and my policy #. If they really wanted to contact me it wouldn't be that difficult. Carl Ricci their appraiser inspected my vehicle on 11/13/2012 and left me a copy of what he wrote. When I spoke to Colin Young he informed me that he didn't know if Hanover was accepting liability and he would talk to his manager and call me back. When he called me back he said that they would agree to pay 50% of the damage estimate, because there are conflicting stories. I stated that the police report clearly states that Fiorillo was found at fault and issued a verbal warning for improper passing. When I saw there was no changing his mine, I told him I would pursue legal action for my damages. As a side note, at the accident scene when I spoke to Officer Thomas he explained to me that "he was going to issue a written infraction to Fiorillo, but Fiorillo stated that his wife was in the hospital, and might have to have her foot amputated. He felt that he had enough on his plate, and a verbal warning was issued because Officer Thomas felt sympathetic for Fiorillo.." read more

I find it very disturbing that local and federal governments do not better regulate these crooks. THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF PAYING CLAIMS!!!! They are deceptive, sneaky, shady and adjusters such as Ashley Judd in Michigan are trained to ONLY deny claims. They misguide you, give you incorrect information, and set you up to be questioned by the highly paid law firm they have on retainer. How can someone sleep at night knowing they have cheated so many innocent insurers? Shame on Hanover Insurance for being so crooked. DO NOT USE. Almost 5 years ago i had a house fire.They are still trying to avoid paying.They have demanded reams of paperwork, spoken to my neighbors about me and called me names...FIVE years! Ive lost rental income on this place,and my only mistake was choosing this company..Ive paid for numerous depositions, expert testimony etc...This is a terrible company and save yourself heartache.
