I called this place asking how much the lessons are, and to my surprise master Francis told me to come in and get a 1st hand experience of how the lessons were gonna be! As a little girl I did Taekwondo for a brief time but remember how much fun it was and the implements it taught me for respect. My significant other and I wanted to find a hobby we could do together. Master Francis and his staff were so welcoming. Master Francis offered us to come in and see how everything was ran by attending a class for free. This session kicked our butts and taught us we had ligaments we didn't even know existed, lol. This place is awesome. First I was very impresses how friendly and welcoming the students were to my child. These were kids of ages 6-13 helping my 4 year old learn and feel welcoming. Master Francis, and coaches are super patient with the students. They really do focus on every child, no matter if it's a full house. Place is kept clean, they even have a homework room for students. Hands down one of the best taekwondo training centers in California. My kids attended this academy and grew to become black belts. Hans Tae Kwon Do has been the best investment in my granddaughters life. Master Francis and Master Pete are the most friendly, well skilled individuals. They really love the kids and make it fun as well. They are very committed and dedicated. I love this place I have been going here for about 5 years and I have seen some great changes in me. I have seen my discipline, myself respect, my goals in life and my effort in other hobbies or school related items grow to the max. In fighting I have grown to be a successful champion I have got some great achievements like a gold medalist at 2016 nationals as a green belt and a bronze medalist in the grand slam that only the top ten best could attend. I even got a chance to make IME/ Mexico team. I have got a few golds, silvers, and bronzes at state championships. My son joined Hans in 2011 to get healthy and fit. We had tried other sports and none were right for him. He fell in love with it and wanted to go every day. I started more than 3 month ago. I'm a 37 year old guy that works 12 hours a day. I first committed to go twice a week. Work out was tough but great. Everybody is helpful and polite. Suddenly I've seen myself going 3 times a week. Now I'm totally hooked. I go 4 or 5 times a week. Nothing better than end the day training with black belts. Some of them belong to USA team. That's how good the level is. Master Francis and coach Pete will push you and encourage you to be better every class. I feel part of the Academy. Best desition ever. Try it out. I was taking both my kids here i have a 4 year old boy when we started he was very hyper would cry for everything and just had a hard time listing to directions. He was there for about 2 months and as I saw that he wouldn't stay put or listen I called master Francises and asked him if there was anything we could to better his performance and he told me that my son just knew what he wanted and that he was very confident and that we just needed to give him time. I asked him if he thought he was too young and he said that he had kids around my sons age so we continued going. I do understand my kid is very active but did notice he would call his attention and sometimes it wasn't even his fault. Again understood my kid was very active so one day as class starts my son has an issue with another one of the kids and master Francis grabs him by his arm and my son starts crying telling him his hurting him and his answer was I know instead of letting him going. I checked his arm and it was red from him grabbing him. At this point I'm upset and he asks me can I see you in the office and I'm thinking well his going to apologize and no instead he tells me that my son talks back to him and that he can't keep teaching him. I understand and respect his decision but I find it so unprofessional that out of all the other times he could of told me that he decides to this when he grabs him from his arm also I had already talked to him about a solution and tells me that he has kids around his age he decides to drop teaching my son instead of bringing up solutions or maybe even give a few warnings before dismissing him. Very disappointed with the way everything was handled. read more
