Quick, clean, and delicious. Best Pho I've had in England. Fried Udon fresh from the wok was great too.

HK Diner, which translates to Hong Kong Diner, is a pretty good restaurant. However, I would say…read morethat they were mainly a Malaysian restaurant (the owners are from Malaysia, and there are so many Malaysian dishes on the menu), and they should really capitalise on that fact and not just blend in the chinese food scene where they are mostly from Hong Kong. I suppose it is what people are used to, and maybe they thought by saying they were a dedicated Malaysian restaurant, they wouldn't get the people in who were looking for chinese food. Who knows. They have lots of lovely food here, that you wouldn't find in a typical chinese restaurant (because it is Malaysian food), like Nasi Lemak, Curry Mee and desserts like Bubur Cha Cha and Red Bean soup. If you aren't already familiar with Malaysian cuisine, those names won't mean much to you, but if you are, you will know they are fantastically tasty - and this place makes it well. They also serve bubble tea here (a hot or cold tea with tapioca pearls), which is the only place in Bristol that I know of that does it. I would highly recommend this place for those of you that haven't tried it out yet and are bored of typical chinese restaurant food. A real treat, two thumbs up.

When you're looking for a taste of the orient on Park Street there's only two places you should…read morethink of going; Beijing Bistro or HK Diner. For me, HK Diner has the edge. Not only are their portions more generous, but their food tastes more authentic too. As well as the vegetable dishes (which are mouth-wateringly chunky covered in soy sauce), the noodles are the best thing on the menu. It's not the best place to take a date, but is the ideal meeting point for friends and family. The service is warm and welcoming, and a night in HK Diner is not a wasted one.

Don't even bother. I sat waiting for over an hour for the takeaway to arrive and then the driver…read moredidn't even try ringing the doorbell! I then had the pleasure of dealing with the world's stroppiest employee (ridiculously moody, unhelpful and provided awful customer service) who insisted it was my fault and that I had provided the wrong phone number which is utter nonsense. Apparently the driver then went home and there was no one else capable of re-delivering it so they simply cancelled my order! There are tons of great Chinese and Japanese takeaways around Bristol. This is not one of them! Avoid at all costs.

The Japanese food is delicious, in surprisingly huge portions. I tried the Karai Chicken Ramen and they delivered enough noodles with yummy chargrilled chicken to go around about three people - and it only cost £6. Together my friend and I had so much food it was almost embarrassing. Luckily her boyfriend arrived later and hoovered up the rest of it! Given the portion sizes, it would be very possible to spend only around £8 here and have plenty of dinner for three people. The only negative I have to say is that we were seriously thirsty for a whole day after eating this food. I don't know if it had very high extra salt content, or if we just chose naturally salty things, but we did suffer a bit as a result of eating this food, which is a shame as it was very delicious at the time.
