Terrible service unhelpful for people with mortgages. I fell behind 1 month consistent with payments every time on time. They want to foreclose instead of offering options like moving the 1 missed payment to the ends of the loan. I also found a program that is willing to pay the one missed payment on my eh and they refuse to work with them. They are scammers and prey on people when they are most vulnerable. They are NOT an credit Union. They are a loan shark circling around you until the perfect time to eat. Got anywhere I mean anywhere. I have big banks but still got treated better than I do here. So we have been there maybe 5+ years? We are seniors. We have our SS auto deposited and my husband is still working. His check is an auto deposit. So we get a $500. ck that comes in every month from an annuity. This is mailed to us. Today was the last straw!! There is 20k sitting in savings plus what comes in monthly. This particular check they constantly say they want me to sign before deposit. It's in my husband's name. "Just put it in", no funds back, nothing. They made me sign it, then it was rejected and we had to wait 8 weeks for a reissue. Today they want to put a 7 day hold on this check. I said why? Their reply was, "it's an insurance check." I said no it's from a 401K. They argued and would not bend!! Why are they putting us through this? "Policy" was their answer. We have NEVER BOUNCED ANYTHING, NEVER HAVE A LOW BALANCE. Credit scores over 800!! I am DONE!! They are slow at everything and have no common sense whatsoever! Their lack of customer service is beyond ridiculous! I worked in banking for years, I know how things work. Don't bother going there, they are horrible!!! read more

Love them. Had started with them when I got my car loan a few years back but since then I have added a checking account for myself, opened a checking account for my teenage son, will be opening up a checking account for my other son and helped my mom open up a checking account with them. The staff is great, very personable and kind and have always been extremely helpful. I personally would highly recommend HAPO. read more

My mom bought a car and wanted the loan with OnPoint Credit Union. However the car dealer must have had pushbacks to HAPO because they didn't do as she asked, and she didn't notice. She normally pays her loan old school in person, but she needed to pay online and as I was helping her navigate the website was shocked it was a $12 fee both for debit or ACH transfer from bank account. Absolutely ridiculous. She had to pay the fee to have her payment on time. I may be helping her to get her loan away from this predatory credit union. They certainly score no points with trying to get her main bank accounts. They don't deserve your business or time. read more

I'm glad that I can provide this location with their listing on Yelp, as well as their first review. I have used HAPO for smaller loans in the past, but we recently had an excellent experience working with Misty in the home loans division at the Vancouver branch. She was great at getting documents to us quickly, and was so efficient that we were able to close a week early! That's one extra week I got to enjoy in my new home! The building is brand new, and appears to be built to a high degree of energy efficiency, which is cool. I would highly recommend working with HAPO to orchestrate your next home purchase. Its so much better than working with a "big bank" where you never get to meet the people helping you. I've been banking with them since I lived in Yakima around 2016, and am really happy with them. There was another credit union from Hanford that was based in Yakima, but this one was founded for the employees, not the execs and elite, and I like that ideology. I like the convenience of online banking and their services support my online and ATM banking style, but when I've needed help the people in the branch have been very helpful. The main desk helpers are not bad, and I never have less than a 3 star experience with them, and quite a few 4 star experiences. Where they really excel is in the business accounts. Service is always 5*, and the types of accounts are great. If you are an entrepreneur, have a side hustle, or even a small private practice like i do, this is the place. With no minimum balance on my plan, more transactions than i need, and the security of a professional account--and the service--I cant think of why I would ever go anywhere else. I'll never open another acct with BoA, nor WF. I currently also work with BECU and love them, but there are no branches in Vancouver. Frankly I haven't been impressed with other credit unions in the area and I don't like impersonal big banks (escalation is a nightmare with them). Only other option for me around Vancouver would maybe be Keybank. But that's not at all because I'm unhappy with HAPO. Just never put all your eggs in one basket if you are professional, and you don't have to fear getting taken for a ride. read more

Wanted to open a savings account with a local bank/credit union. Wanted to support our local businesses and have a local access to funds as needed. I have most of my funds with a National Online bank, who I love! Completed my online application and waited. NO message from HAPO with my new account information, access to setting up online access, or instructions /information to help me find my way around with my new bank! Absolutely nothing! After 3 emails to their, " NO " customer department requesting account information and being told I needed to visit my local branch for that information, I told them to cancel my account and I would remove my start-up funds from their grasp. I will stay with Ally Bank, my online bank that offers better rates, easy transactions ( on line ), and excellent customer service assistance, information and help, 24 hours a day. read more

Sent FAX to CU as directed by HAPO staff. I have the FAX transmission receipt that it was received. FAX apparently lost. Kylie, supervisor, declined to reimburse me for the $25 FAX transmission cost. One would think loosing a customer over $25 is a high price to pay. read more
