I am a registered nurse who works for a pharmacy. We receive referrals from hospitals for home IV therapy usually antibiotics or TPN. We then find nursing for these infusions by sending referrals to home health agencies. I called to see how this company receives referrals and the woman who answered the phone was rude and did not seem to know what she was talking about. The nursing staff might be great, but I will never know because the initial contact person ruined the experience. read more

OMG! An actual housecall by a Physician? Who hears about that these days? After an initial scheduling glitch involving a visiting Registered Nurse they literally bombarded us with caring Healthcare professionals culminating with a Podiatrist who bandaged my Wife's lower extremity wound (CHF, Renal compromised, 4 weeks post-op back surgery). Horrible company, I have no idea how any doctor office works with them! They're so unprofessional! My grandma had surgery and they've been saying for a week they would have a therapist call her to set up an appointment and still no call.. she keeps calling everyday and no one will return her call, they keep saying "a therapist will call"... but no one calls. She was supposed to have her physical therapy appointment a week a ago! If her surgery doesn't heal right we will know who to go to and who's fault it is! This is a serious problem and they are being extremely lazy, unprofessional, and I would never recommend this company.. how are they still in business and not have lawsuits!!! read more

No matter how good you take care of yourself old age will do what it does. My grandpa has always taken care of himself but after hitting 80 his never been the same. We had used a lot of home healths before but never were satisfied always had to request everything more then once. Then I found curing hands through yelp they had a 5 star review and we though let's give them a try. This company is truly amazing very organized and on top of patient care from all aspects. Liana is the office manager and it looks like she has everything under control weather it has to do with her department or not she will make sure it done and patient is happy. Caring, reliable and outright generous. This wonderful establishment has maybe the nicest and professional nurses i have ever seen. Problem is i have a sick aunt who has been suffering from a very rare liver disease and she has been struggling for years and we have been doing this home health thing for 2 years now, Well the first company we went with felt to weird too many different nurses would change and a couple of them spoke no english and my aunt would just fight with them all day long lol ever since we switched my aunt has a young and professional nurse who actually cares about her well-being, my aunt and her nurse are of best friends i have actually walked in and heard her giggling and talking to her nurse with a smile on, i dont know how the young nurse did it but the quality of life has gone up for my aunt. thanks guys your great- read more

My mom recently had hip replacement surgery and the care she received from curing hands was extremely satisfying. My mom always said they were very nice to her and she learned a lot from their visits about how properly recover. I and members of the family also were at home several times to see the care and their presence they had while there. It felt great, I could leave the house knowing she was in great care. Curing hands is an awesome home health service. The staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly. We needed to find a place for my grandpa because he slipped and had an accident. At first we were very concerned of finding a decent and reputable company. Let me just say that we're glad that we found curing hands. My grandmother needed in home services after being released from the hospital. I contacted this agency because it was relatively close to my house and few others that I called did not seem appealing. Maria answered all my questions without hesitation and explained the process in full detail. My grandmother had surgery done at Adventist hospital and she needed a nurse to Come visit her at home to do wound care. The nurses who came to our house were great. They we're always on time and also took care of my grandmothers wounds. We also had physical therapy for my grandmother and Christine the physical therapist was excellent. My mother was weak and had very bad balance issues. Christine really helped her out and now doesn't have that issue at all. Overall excellent experience with Curing Hands Home Health. My mother was given home health by her doctor after surgery and we couldn't have asked for a better home health to care for my mother the way they did. They did exceptional wound care physical therapy and so much more. They even supplied her with a walker when Medicare wasn't providing it. Just the most pleasant people to have known and worked with. Warning to people looking for a home health agency, do not use Curing Hands in Burbank! Positive reviews are either from their staff to boost reviews, or from people who like their nurses, however it's very important to understand that the office staff at a home health agency is CRUCIAL. An elderly family member of mine who had fallen and also had a dangerous blood clot needed a Home Health Agency for several reasons. Our local doctor only used 2 local agencies so we signed up with Curing Hands since they have local nurses. The main nurse they sent out to our house who takes vital signs each week was fantastic. Also, 1 of the 2 physical therapists was great, very kind. (The first physical therapist had narcolepsy & would fall asleep during sessions, which wasted our very limited amount of PT visits! When I found out I called & got a new PT who was great). Also the nurse who helps the patient shower was nice. HOWEVER, the OFFICE STAFF is AWFUL, terribly disorganized & HORRIBLE communication skills! The receptionist & each of the 3 people they transfer you to, including Maria, are the worst communicators on the planet. Maria tries to be nice, but none of them bother to take down notes so they don't know the patient's history nor the family request for who to contact for communication, for instance, contact a son because the elderly father patient is hard of hearing. When we first signed up I called to introduce myself. Bad sign from the get-go. Receptionist had no idea of a specific point person to refer me to!! How is this even possible? They must get these calls every day, yet they don't have specific staff who we can call to communicate with?! That doesn't even make sense. I realized later it's because no one there wants to take responsibility nor be held accountable. Because of this, they don't keep thorough patient records. Having nice nurses is nice, but it's not enough! If they don't know a patient's history, how can they make sure that you're getting the care that you need & the care you're entitled to paid for by your insurance and/or Medicare?! It's not possible is the answer. Curing Hands cares ONLY about receiving money from Medicare! They're VERY good at pretending to care on the phone, but when it comes down to handling records accurately, that's where flaws become evident. If a company has poor records, to me this means they're lazy, disorganized & suck! 1) They never bothered contacting the patient's doctor for complete records as I requested! So they had NO idea of patient's recent history which affects the care needed, they only knew & cared about the fact that a doctor enlisted their services. 2) When I called to go over patient's history, I learned they didn't request any info from the doctor! How can they administer care without knowing history? 7 months later they still didn't have this in their files! Why? Because they don't feel it's important enough to get recent patient records! This is a HUGE problem because if they don't understand the medical history, they cannot work with Medicare & insurance accurately to extend nurse care for longer periods as necessary. 3) They dont understand the new 2013 laws related to Obamacare. Because they don't comprehend or even know about the new laws, coupled with the fact that they don't know a patient's history, they suddenly will just END your care!! Which is what happened to us! Since they never bothered writing down my name in their files after 7 MONTHS, they sent a nurse out to the house to deal directly with the elderly patient who has hearing trouble & was confused by the visit. That visiting nurse said the services were ending! That's when I called to find out why & was told "Patient's care was ended because not taking new meds & also because patient didnt progress past using a walker. Since not improving with physical therapy, we have to end ALL services, including weekly nurse to check vital signs & shower aid." What about the blood clot? "Oh, my dear, I don't know, but since there are no new meds prescribed, we have to end, that's it, I'm sorry you're not happy." WTH?! Maria doesn't know about the blood clot, the main reason they were coming to the house?! We're now VERY happy with a great new Home Healthy agency! Who knows the new Obamacare laws affecting Medicare. I also learned Curing Hands gave us wrong info, the weekly nurse should not have ended! They are DANGEROUS because they're clueless! I'm so happy with new service. Remember, nice nurses is not enough. Make sure your agency has a specific person who keeps thorough records, makes notes of your calls & requests, & knows the new laws! Otherwise, your service could suddenly end too! The NEW agency's nurse noticed patient had an odd cough & insisted emergency care. It turned out blood clot traveled to lungs! New agency's nurse SAVED our family member's life! I swear on my life this is all true. Best wishes to all out there. read more

My uncle had a stroke recently. He was admitted to Santa Anita hospital. Upon him being discharged the doctor mentioned he needed speech therapy and someone to make sure he takes his new medication correctly. So I decided to go on yelp. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to call the company myself. When I called suzette answered the phone. Very professional and told me a registered nurse will come see my uncle tomorrow and based on her evaluation we will move forward. Ana the rn called that night and scheduled her appointment . she showed up on time went over the meds and told us she will send speech therapist following day. Tina the speech therapist was great. My grandmother was admitted to Huntington hospital. She had knee surgery and had staples on her knee. And I couldn't do the wound care or remove the staples my self. ( since I'm not a nurse) the drs gave there own opinion on there own home health. After doing more research wasn't pleased w the drs recommendations. I noticed curing hands home health and there great reviews. So we went w them. Zena was an excellent nurse and did great wound care on her. Also the Rn came and removed the staples. We also had physical therapy Kristine was excellent( my grandmother loved her) on top of it we had someone come and help my grandmother with her shower and bathing once a week. After an accident and surgery, my doctor prescribed two weeks of daily visits by Curing Hands nurses. I am completely satisfied with the quality of care administered by the dedicated and personable nurses from Curing Hands. I was especially sensitive and protective of my injured hand, and the CH nurses were themselves sensitive to this. They treated me with care, compassion, and kid gloves! Aside from a brief scheduling issue, CH worked well with me in establishing a schedule that was convenient for me. I was actually sorry when their services were no longer needed in the judgment of my doctor. Ironically, I hope I will never again have need of CH's services. But if-God forbid- I do, I will not hesitate to ask my doctor to presecibe Curing Hands. read more
