I moved to Oceanside about 4 months ago and have been STRUGGLING to find a new salon... My place in SD was hard to beat - but I think I finally found my new place! This was the 6th salon I've tried in the 92054 area?? I was a walk-in the first time, and wasn't thrilled with my technician. She was rushed, not friendly, and clipped a cuticle. Yikes. BUT - I liked the salon itself. Lots of colors, larger establishment, good chairs, clean and modern, good prices. So I read a bunch of reviews and picked Kay for my pedicure and next visit ~~ She is amazing. Gentle, but very thorough, massage is great and she pays attention to detail. I'm in love! I've been back to her twice now and I am very very happy! She doesn't know it, but, I'm all hers : ) Please give this place a try and please ask for Kay! I haven't had my nails done here yet, so I will come back and update my review when I do. read more

I don't usually have mail but I got them for a few months when I had a lot of US and international travel. Each nail tech I had was able to accommodate my specific nail art requests! Yes! I have returned! Hello 2023! So I broke my foot in October so I haven't had the opportunity to come get my pedicure because it was in a cast & boot up until last week. So, made my appointment with Vicky per usual, & it was still amazing thanks to her! Always request Vicky she is so kind and tries always her best to make things right. She is amazing. Today though it was unfortunate because they stopped treating and removing ingrown nails. They had signs posted everywhere. Look at recent updated picture. But Vicky did what she could to make my toes feel comfortable though without removing them. This is unfortunate because I get them constantly... and not a lot of places treat or remove them anymore. Though I understand why, this was sad to see because that was one of my favorite things about this place. Overall though, it was a great experience as always, and it was nice to see they did some updating with their lighting and fixtures. Just sad to learn about the ingrown nails. read more

Always the best service. I would call in the AM to make appointments for later on in the day since they are always very busy. Only specific ladies can do designs on acrylic nails so be specific so you get the right person. I have r had the pleasure of having Tara and Jen do designs on my nails. This salon gets five stars for customer service, and one star for the actual nail work. I live in Los Angeles but was down in Oceanside for the holiday and needed to have my nails done. I was twelve minutes late for my appointment, and everyone was so kind and accommodating even though it was clearly my fault, and I felt terrible. But that's where the excellent service ends. I have Gel X nails, and I needed a refill. Several of my nails ended up with air bubbles which means they weren't cured long enough. But, all in all, they looked pretty good when I left the salon. I also had a pedicure with regular polish, and when the pedicure was over, I continued to sit in the chair. Over half of the pedicure chairs were empty, and there was no one else waiting to have their nails done. I was sitting there because I letting the polish dry, which is what my LA nail salon always insists that customers do. But not this place. Maybe (??) two minutes after my pedicure was over, my technician came back by, put my flip flops on my feet, grabbed my wallet and phone, handed them to me, and gestured that I get out of the chair. And of course, since the polish was still wet, my toe nails got ruined. And then today, I woke up with one of my Gel X nails broken. A little more than five days later! Please keep in mind that a gel tip had been put on this particular nail at the salon. How on earth does a fake tip break?! At this point, I would really like my money back. read more

I had a gel manicure and pedicure the day before going on vacation. That night the polish on two nails chipped off. I went back early the next day to get them repaired before my flight out. The tech that did my manicure asked me what I did to chip the nails. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary that I did. While fixing my nails she said that her UV light wasn't working right the day before and she had another customer with the same issue but it happened while she was at the salon. The tech proceeded to do another coat on all of my nails. She assured me that they should last through my 10-day vacation. While on my flight later that day I noticed all of the polish on one nail was gone. I have no idea how or when it happened. Through the course of my vacation I had several more nails lose the polish. They completely came off the nail. I ended up having to get a manicure while on vacation because my nails looked so bad. I returned home on a Saturday night. I called the salon on Sunday and asked to speak with Karen. I let the person I talk to know about my situation and that I was unhappy. She told me Karen was the person to speak to and call back on Wednesday when she was in. When I spoke with Karen I asked her for a refund for my manicure. I let her know that a faulty UV lamp was used originally, the polish came off of most of my nails and I had to have the nails redone on vacation. She said since I waited so long to tell them about my issue she would only give me a discount. I told her I did come in the day after having them done for a repair but there was no way I was calling Karen from another country when the rest was falling off. I brought it up with them as soon as I returned. While being a long time customer of this salon I was surprised how Karen treated me. Her salon used faulty equipment causing me to have to pay for another manicure and she was only willing to give me a discount? Karen flat out refused to give me a refund, again saying that I should have brought it to their attention much soon. I understand their policy but I was out of the country and could not call them. Karen was unwilling to waiver at all. I will never go to this salon again. They have lost my business and I will make sure to share this experience with others so that they are aware of how they really treat their customers. read more

I decided to try here after reading the reviews. We just moved to the area so I need to find a new tech. My style of looking is the entire salon should be well qualified and know their stuff without having to request one single person. Short answer: I will not be back. I called two days before and made an appointment for 9:30am when they open. When they opened about 12 girls showed up and only 2 workers. They had a hard time deciding what to do with all of us and it didn't seem to matter if you had an appointment, no one looked it up to verify and their was no employee ready to go for you. The lady simply said "they are coming." I got an older lady. I picked my color which was pink and she brought back a blue. So I nicely let her know I don't think that was the color and she proceeded to look but couldn't find it. I ended up picking another color. She proceeded to do my dip powder after soaking off my original nails. The entire service took about 2.5 hours. It turned out okay, but the process was rough to say the least. She kept using her drill and accidentally getting my actual skin. It burned like crazy. You could obviously see in my face I was in pain. I pulled my hands sometimes and she knew that was the issue. She apologized but it was still very very painful. I'm also used to dip being neater when applied vs. all that drilling to get it to look okay. She would apply the coat, dip my finger and instead of just tapping the side to get the excess off she would pat the excess into my nail... that's a first for a girl who's been getting dip for 5 years now. Nice establishment but not for me. It may be for others, or I just got a bad tech but I will not be endorsing this location. read more

Great manicure, but be aware that you may be upcharged. Before my appointment, I showed the person at the front desk my nails and asked how much it would be for exactly what I was getting done. When it came time to pay, the cost was $10 higher. When I asked about it they gave 1 reason (soaking) for it being higher, and when I mentioned that I had been quoted a different price, they said it was due to shaping. Okay so -- much to say! This was my first time coming in, and I will say I do not regret it. I think Happiest Nails & Spa does a better job than many nail salons, but I don't believe the work was exceptional. I'll break down my experience a bit better: Gel manicure + extensions: 7/10 (including price consideration) Pedicure: 4/10 (including price consideration) Customer service: 7/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Overall pricing: 8/10 I came in to get a gel manicure w/extensions and a pedicure with regular polish. A woman named Vicky did my manicure, and another woman named Linda did my pedicure. They both were working on my nails at the same time, which was very time efficient, but I think this negatively affected their work. Linda was very kind, but did not do a thorough job on my toes whatsoever. She did give a great scrub and leg massage, but the actual nail job was not very great. I had to repeatedly ask her to trim my nails evenly, and she didn't ask me what shape I wanted them filed in. She did a pretty quick polish job, and as when I came home and looked at the nails, I noticed MANY flaws. Uneven polish, polish on the cuticles/skin, and she also left a noticeable jagged edge on one of my toes by not filing after trimming. I actually think my cuticles look worse than before lol. Luckily, unless someone is all up in your feet business, they won't notice. I would go back for a pedicure again just to try once more, but not with Linda. I deeply appreciate her kindness though, and found her very sweet! As for Vicky, I specifically requested her after hearing many positive comments about her manicure work. I am content with my manicure, but once again, not fully impressed. After my manicure, I noticed bubbling on the tips of the nails (working too quickly) and some dents, too (no, I did not hit my nails before they cured). Had I gotten a bolder color, this wouldn't been extremely noticeable. Luckily I went with a nude tone. My thumb nail lengths are also noticeably uneven. There wasn't as much attention to detail as I'd hoped. But despite this, the polish is evenly coated and the shape of the gel is fairly good. Vicky was not overtly rude in any way, but she was a bit cold and did not engage in much conversation I was trying to make. The woman at the front desk was extremely kind and both welcomed us in and thanked us on our way out. I appreciate her hospitality. I wish her and my nail techs hadn't rushed me in picking my color, though, as I'd just walked in 3 minutes before. The salon is extremely clean and they have nice decor inside. It is also organized, and they have TVs for entertainment. So that's really cool! Ultimately: The gel manicure was fine, but I would not recommend their pedicures. I will come back and maybe see what some of the other nail techs' work looks like! Pricing is fit for the work they do, so I am not too upset, hence the rating. Had the manicure been more expensive, I think I'd have been more disappointed. I ultimately spent just under $100 for a mani-pedi. read more

This place is terrible. I received a rude nail tech I didn't get her name. But she was berating my nails quality of maintenance and cleanliness. And repeatedly bringing other techs over to show them and comment her disgust. I asked for a dip nail with tip change and replacement of existing set. She did not remove the tips from over half of my nails. She tore off my nail aggressively damaging the real nails. My fingers were bleeding in multiple places as I left. And I was charged full price for a new set of dip nails/tips at $70. Don't go here. My nails also broke on several fingers within a week of getting them done. Horrendous establishment. read more

I had an appointment, and every time I call to make one, I leave my phone number. I've been going there for a long time. When I arrived for my appointment, my nail technician wasn't ready, and I had to wait an hour. While I understand that things can happen, everyone's time is valuable. I was frustrated that they didn't call me to let me know, as I could have just arrived later instead of waiting. When I brought it up, the owner told me I needed to be more flexible, which I found unprofessional. A courtesy call would have been the right thing to do. The nail technician who did my nails nicked my fingers 3x. I pulled away the first time but she proceeded without caution. I felt uneasy the entire time I was here as it felt like my natural nails were going to end up damaged from how intensely she was grinding my nails. I let her know it felt like she was grinding my actual nail, she simply responded with "I'm not." A better response to a customer would have been "I'll be more careful." She cut one of my fingers so deep that it ended up bleeding. I bled enough that there was blood underneath my nail. I went back to let them know letting them know I was concerned the finger would get infected. The front desk lady just said "it won't" and put a blood stopper / liquid bandaid on it. The nail tech stopped by and just said "oh sorry!" There's gel polish under the nails, the coating is thick and uneven. She placed the gel x nails crooked, my pinky nail is tilting out, my ring finger is tilting the opposite way. The nails are lifting already. I got these nails done for my engagement/proposal and I was very dissatisfied with the experience, technique and the price point. read more

For my birthday, she just gave me the most magical and dreamiest nails. Service went great and the lady I had was super sweet and very detailed with her work. I went to this salon twice for a pedicure. I got gel acrylics that stayed on for really long but the second time I went I requested a removal of the gel and acrylic. Instead of soaking the gel, the lady literally over filed and shaved down the gel leaving my nail extremely brittle. After a week the acrylic along with the tip of my toenail broke off. The work here seems to be rushed. The salon is clean, I'll give it that. But the actual quality of the work is not worth the charge :/ read more
