They have a good selection of traditional Chinese dishes (and some they'll make that is not on the menu if you know what to ask for) and also what I consider "western" Chinese dishes. They served my favorite shrimp chips as a type of appetizer to hold you over until your food was served. They weren't greasy and were very light and flavorful (as far as shrimp chips are concerned). Service is unattentive, but I'm not surprised. I'm an American visiting a Chinese restaurant across from my hotel in Spain. I know service is different here, and to be honest, I was too tired to be bothered too much anyways. I realize we were way early for dinner since they are open till midnight but we we're hungry. The staff speaks mainly mandarin and Spanish but they are a gem! The gentleman who helped us was great. For food we ordered: Xiaolongbao relleno de carne, setas y foie (Xiaolongbao filled with mushrooms and foie) - these were yummy but just ok. If you've eaten a lot of XLB you'll understand. They were small and the skin was thin but not the right amount of thin in the right places. It was too thin on the bottom so they were already broken when they came out. There also wasn't much juice inside. The vinegar sauce is local and not as tangy as other vinegars but very good. Arroz frito Shanghai Mama Receta tradicional (Shanghai Mama fried rice with tradicional recipe) - MUST order this. It has great wok hey and the taste is so unique. It has great seasoning and they did not skimp on the ingredients. Every bite was yummy. Pato Shanghai Mama crujiente en salsa de almendras (Shanghai Mama style crispy duck in amand sauce) - also a favorite! We were surprised at this dish but MUST GET. It was cooked perfectly. The flavors were intense but not over whelming. The duck was almost like Peking style with the crispy skin and fat but it was sliced and topped with almonds and sauce. Great with the fried rice. At the end of the meal they served us peanuts that were roasted in something sweet. Perfect way to end the meal. I realize this place is a chain but the food is so delicious and unique. Arrived 15 min before opening and there was already a line. Made it in on the first seating which was great. Was asked to visit their bar first as they slowly made their way through bringing people in to the restaurant to dine. Felt pressured ot order a drink, which I didn't really want to, so I didn't like this flow of entry to bar, to restaurant. Fortunately the drinks were tasty and very theatrical. Was eventually escorted into the restaurant. Seating is like a giant oval around an open kitchen. Energy is electric, loud, stimulating. Almost feels like your dining outside in a street food alley with neon signs everywhere. The food consisted of fusion and/or modern interpretations of street food classics from across Asia, and other parts of the world too. Highlights for us included the crudo japo-mexican de salmon and chili crab concha blanda. We did find that there was a high degree of citrus and thought that the tako de pulpo was a bit too acidic. The Techno music is loud so just be aware of that. I loved it and couldn't stop dancing in my seat. It is first come first serve. Regis told me to go as soon as they opened. Even then, we got one of the last seatings by the bar where all the action is. It was so much fun seeing all the chefs and sous chefs shouting and working in harmony. Our server was amazing in recommending many of the dishes and drinks. I also got a kick out of their cool straight jacket chef's attire. One word to describe the food here; it is very avant-garde (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Singapore). Our favorite dish of the night was the Vieira Asada (scallop with a green sauce). Honestly, I don't think you will go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Love how they describe each dish as they present it to you. I also never had the bartender come by and take the time to describe the drink in great detail. Truly an amazing unique meal from start to finish. I do recommend that you get a bit dressed up.
