Quiting was a too difficult decision to make because we can see the changes in our son. We still love and enjoy coming. We can see the progress my son made in that short period of time. Johnny and his team have a very unique teaching method. Funny and joyful but firm and clear. I can see how they help the kiddos learn to focus and be more attentive. We love the circle time where they talk about a moral or a concept. They repeat the store many times to make sure the kiddos get the message. I hope we can keep coming to this special place and if we couldn't the reason would only be the long commute not fitting in our schedule. They also tend to work things out with you. So if you have a problem text or call Johnny.

I signed the contract, I brought my daughter for about 5? Classes. On the 5th class there is 3 orange cones they set out have the kids run up to them when the yell the magic word and they were supposed to touch to cone and run back and hit their stance. My daughter was BRAND NEW, the drill was NOT explained I sat there and watched I was one of the only parents not on my phone. The instructor yelled the word my child bolted the opposite way. She came back the word was yelled again... again my child bolted the opposite way. With NO explanation a simple "run to the cone" was not said. The instructor now is next to my child ... yells the word and he almost expected her to bolt (she tried) he grabbed her upper arm and tapped her face with two fingers right by her ear. ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!!!!!! I (as a professional coach even just a mother) WOULD NEVER EVER .... Grab a child OR even tap their face. I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and even embarrassed that my child didn't understand the drill and was not explained the drill. I never came back, I kept paying but I cannot bring her back here. As a domestic violence survivor this situation made me extremely uncomfortable to speak up about. My child is 4 you NEVER grab or get physically frustrated WITH A CHILD. The instructors name is Johnny. When your payment does not go through (I keep my card locked) they call you and harass you and INSTANTLY charge your card before you even can finish your sentence!!!! Stay away!! They clearly are money hungry and CLEARLY have not had ANY safesport training.

We're regulars at the 5:30 AM Zombie Class -- yes, it's early, but 100% worth it! The atmosphere here is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. Everyone we've trained with has been incredibly patient, caring, and fun to roll with. The instructors are fantastic across the board -- Keith goes above and beyond, dedicating a ton of his personal time to help us grow. David is calm, patient, and excellent at breaking things down, and I've really appreciated Alex's wisdom and thoughtful insights as well. Whether you're a complete beginner or experienced practitioner, this is one of the best jiu-jitsu studios in town. I highly recommend dropping in and becoming part of the Infinite family!

However, the details of instruction and the friendliness of everyone at Infinite, from the owner to beginners, is unmatched. Gustavo (owner/instructor) continues to compete and master his own craft while stressing the importance of technique over brute force to students. I appreciate this approach as an older practitioner, especially after training overseas at an MMA gym which had the opposite mentality. Gustavo is also supportive of kids and adults who want to compete and does his best to be mat-side with them at tournaments. Regarding the kids classes, I also appreciate the few minutes he spends a with them at the beginning of class talking about their day and trying to connect BJJ lessons to proper behavior off the mat.

If you are looking for a place that goes beyond just physical techniques, this is it. Kovar's focuses heavily on building character and self-discipline. Over the past year, we've seen a massive boost in our child's confidence, which has translated into how they carry themselves outside of the dojo. One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the emphasis on anti-bullying. The instructors don't just teach kids how to protect themselves; they teach them the importance of standing up for others and de-escalating situations with integrity. The teachers are phenomenal--they are patient, encouraging, and truly know how to engage with younger children to keep them focused while having fun. We are so grateful to be part of this community and highly recommend Kovar's to any parent looking to empower their kids!

Marinoble's offers a variety of instruction in different disciplines! We went in and told them exactly what we wanted, and did not want, for the first few months and they were able to accommodate us with everything we needed. We love our instruction here so far, we look forward to going, and are sad to leave. My littlest is sleeping in his Gi uniform right now. Marinoble's offers such a variety of classes it will accommodate any child and adult. The facility is huge! They have five separate "floors" to instruct various classes simultaneously; including a cage, a boxing ring, a knife throwing center. This means parents can work out in their own class while the kids are having fun learning in another part of the gym. They offer MMA, Kickboxing, JuJitsu, Submission Grappling, BOK FU, Weapons Disarming, and traditional Boxing by actively competing trainers at both the amateur and professional level. My only requests would be large fans, please. The room smells of many sweating people. Okay, not major BO or anything, just man sweat. Of course, the women smell wonderful when we sweat [wink, wink] which can only help deodorize it so much! And the some of the equipment could be maintained better, but it's minor stuff, like having enough properly pumped and working speed bags. **So this is what sold me! The prices are reasonable and they offer family discounts off both the enrollment and tuition anywhere from 25% - 50% off. Then the owner, Dave Marinoble, offered free passes good for a few days of classes to try it out. When I asked when the days would begin, the manager, Kim, told me not to worry about it; to take my time sampling the various classes to help make a better decision. No pressure, wonderful. I brought the boys in and they happily welcomed them and gave them semiprivate instruction to catch up with the group. The looks on their faces said it all. The instructors were so happy and fun while they taught, my boys were grinning ear to ear the entire time. When they finished, their first question was, "When can we come back"? Another good sign! Happy, nurturing teachers, great management and the owner is awesome too. He teaches many of the classes. He has more energy than I've seen any person have! Maybe he can lend me some for my "tired parent" days? Instead, they got me working out in the back room and even I had a blast. After the first day, I told Kim, "We're sold! Give us a few more days to choose which classes", which was fine. For every age 5-85 and every skill level. They train active competitors, kids, soccer moms and everyone in between. The gym is female friendly. The variety of classes and times makes it easy to get a butt-kicking workout in every day. The coaching is fantastic! So far I've had Kim and Abrahm, and the boys have had Tiffany? and Dave Marinoble, plus a few others. We've liked them all! **I strongly recommend checking this place out for fitness, self defense training, and competitive sport, for an adult or a child! We're having lots of fun so far. More updates to come....

We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. There's been a bit of improvements/changes including adding that new weights pulling rug area, and the removable of the 2 walls that used to be there. That's quite a big change and it opened up the space and the gym looks bigger now even though it is the same size. I did a bunch of lifting with free weights and worked out with my wife, and the kids rode spin bikes. We all had a good time. This is a pretty good location, especially when it's quiet and we almost have the whole place to ourselves. One star knocked off for the water that was lukewarm and even cold at times while I was showering. Not sure why it was inconsistent and not hot.

When I heard that In-Shape Fitness has childcare facilities, I decided to give it a try. I toured…read morethree different locations and settled on Roseville even though it was further away from my home, because the childcare space was bright, clean and the staff are so friendly. There are always plenty of staff in the childcare for both big kids and babies. I immediately took advantage of the free personal training session on my first visit. I worked with Liz. I clicked with her right away because she specifically cared about MY goals for my fitness. I wanted to turn my health around so that I could increase my healthy lifespan with my two kids. I just had a baby at 40 and was very overweight and incapable of many physical functions that I consider important. In my first month working out with Liz, I gained 6 pounds of muscle and lost 8 pounds of fat. I felt physically strong and capable, but also mentally strong because I was confronting something embarrassing for myself but pushing through. After some months I switched to other trainers because Liz is actually the training boss lol. I had been spoiled... but I was very happy with Eric and Alex who taught me new exercises and were just as knowledgeable and caring as Liz. I stuck with Alex for the rest of my time at In-Shape Roseville. He always estimated my ability just right. He would never give me more than I could do, but also not less. I pushed it every single session and got stronger and stronger. Every session was packed with activity and I felt like my time (and money) was being fully valued. From the moment I would walk into the gym until I left, I was making a huge impact on my health and future. Over six or seven months, I spent between two and six hours at the gym every week. I know for certain that putting in that time gained me years with my kids down the road. Unfortunately I moved out of county and have switched to a new local gym, but I now have a knowledge and skill set to continue on my own. It's no overstatement to say In Shape Roseville changed or even saved my life. Every staff member helped me. Also, every member is nice. There's no awkwardness or feeling fat there. Everyone is super nice and down to earth, all ages and all body types. Special thanks to Carmen, James, Nayel, Eric, the beautiful lady trainer that moved to Nevada and Raymund. Especially for Liz and Alex, I know that I will achieve my fitness goals and live a long healthy life with my family from what you taught me and what you enabled me to prove to myself.
