Extremely Disappointed... This was my second attempt to attend a boxing class here and both times…read moreit was closed, despite the schedule on their website, ClassPass, and Instagram saying there would be class. The first time, the owner told me to always check Instagram for updates, so I made sure to do that last night. Today, I showed up again and found the doors locked! I re-checked their Instagram only to see that they posted just before midnight about a cancellation today. It's frustrating because I was excited to try a boxing studio so close to home. It takes motivation to even get the confidence to try a new boxing studio, let alone get there and give it a second chance. I'm not willing to give it a third chance after wasting so much time and energy. The owner needs to be more on top of things. Update the schedule online and give more notice of cancellations; not just post last-minute on Instagram.

My concern would be at night it would be enough light since it is in the back of the building. The outside of the building somewhat not welcoming. I didn't know where to go except I saw the logo. I was a little confused if the two buildings were the same or different businesses. If there was a banner or bigger logo sign I would definitely have no questions about where to go.

I saw a 10 day set on groupon and swooped it up. Gil is the owner and he is a former boxer himself. This is his gym. It's a down to earth gym but a lot of the times as an adult you get 2:1 or 4:1 time with Gil for the training session. He also works with you if you're feeling weaker. There's a good combination of pushing you and knowing where your limits are. He makes sure I am conditioning my arms with other exercises like the row machine, bench press and more since my arms a little bit weaker. But I rock the jump ropes! Haha. They also have free gloves to wear... of course they are a little bit sweaty from prior use, but then again would you really want to box at a fancy gym? No! You want the grit and you want to realness of this gym.

Reading my old review makes me sad because the overall vibe of this gym took a turn for the worse…read morestarting in late 2025/Jan 2026. The usual cleanliness of the mats took a decline. The family business vibe that kept me for 6 years was minimal. The owner (Patrick) turned into a MAGA keyboard warrior. I avoided Patrick's classes because it was 45 min of stretching and 15 min of workout. Coach Kirby's classes kept me going since my strength gains were worth it (and you don't need to take your shoes off for strength training lol). There was no point in coming here after the last certified personal trainer quit their strength program and more women gradually left. I would rather drive more to train at a different gym (more than one Muay Thai & strength gyms exist in Sacramento) than come here. I don't mind the cost as long as I am in a clean facility and the vibe is worth it. The only reason they have one star left is for Coach P. - he is a good Muay Thai coach and a rockstar. I didn't really go to Coach Rocci's classes until last year, but the few times I did his music was the best for sparring. Pro tip: use a different personal FB account to post political content where gym members can't see them. Regardless of whether people agree/disagree with your views, there is a level of professionalism needed if you want to be a successful business owner.

I love Pilates Heartcore…read more I've been to five classes so far - two private, one virtual, and two group - and have been led by five different instructors. Each class was wonderful, as was each instructor. I'm new to Pilates - before Heartcore I had only gone to/done two studio classes fifteen years ago + a few YouTube (mat) Pilates videos over the years - so I was very nervous starting out. Each instructor made me feel welcome and very supported. In addition, when I first started taking classes, I spoke with Katie, the owner of the studio, over email many times (to schedule classes), and she was so helpful and very quick to respond. The studio itself is spacious and very clean (including the bathrooms). Also, Heartcore has no "surprises" - something I very much appreciate; all policies are posted on their website, so everything that prospective + current students need to know is there. People may need to set reminders for themselves about things - an upcoming class they registered for, the need to bring grippy socks to class (which they do sell in the studio), when to cancel your registration to a class if you won't be able to make it, etc. - but that is to be expected at almost every establishment/business. I've been a member here for just about a month, and I don't foresee myself ending my membership anytime soon (barring a faraway move or something). I look forward to each class, and I'm so excited to keep going. I love this studio!

The prices are about the same, you're supporting a local business, and the value at Niavaroni's is so much better. Niavarani's is professional, VERY welcoming to females, adults, and youths of all shapes, levels, and sizes I like the management. The instructors are all amazing (EZRA REGAN is my favorite...you're AWESOME!!!). This is what I love most: I can go into a class for an hour, come out drenched in sweat, get an amazing work out, and feel great afterward. And the best part about Niavoroni's: When I come here, I feel like I'm part of a family.

A year ago, I would have rated it 5 stars. Now? It's just OK…read more Let me expand. I'm here for the kickboxing-- or, Muay Thai. Ezra was a fantastic instructor. Every week we would improve or learn. Now that he is gone, it just isn't the same. Now, the gym is focused primarily on boxing. There is very little new instruction in the way of kickboxing, and I don't think I've seen clinching (a large part of Muay Thai) even mentioned since. The sessions are very formulaic, and have very little variation anymore. Some calisthenic warm up, a round of shadow boxing, some running drills, a little bag work, then no/light contact basic punch drills with a partner. Then the same ab routines and maybe some jump rope. In general, the above isn't really a problem if it was just a cardio burn class offered at the local gym - but this is a dedicated boxing/kickboxing gym that commands a price 2-3x higher than your average gym membership. One thing that does give them a distinct advantage is the hourly class schedule. They run a lot of classes!
