Everytime we come here the for is always pretty decent. The food is good and the variety is great. Plenty of options for everyone. When we got in we were greeted right away they sat it's immediately and took our drink order. My son is a very pick eater but he saw the hibachi stand and got some noodles, chicken, ham and eggs and they made it fresh for him. It's a pretty good variety for people to make their own hibachi. They have a huge dessert table and they make fresh sushi on the spot. . I like coming here cause the food is always great and the price you can't beat! $15 for two people is awesome! read more

This is one of the better buffets in Hialeah. I feel it use to be better before but still good and the service is always good and fast. I have not been there in months and got a craving today. I usually go straight for the noodles, shrimp, and maduros/plantains (big fan!) For my first plate. This time I added little fried shrimp pieces which surprisingly were really good. My second round today was the fried rice, some nuggets, more maduros (lol) and then oreo ice cream. The rice I have noticed is never really good in any buffet but I wanted to give it a shot. It was average, I wouldnt get it again. The ice cream waa good as usual. Well, can ice cream ever be bad? Overall, I do like this buffet. I cant say it is the worst place or the best. Being a Florida native there's been many Chinese Buffet's I've been to. This little gem in Hialeah, Fl is a great place to go to. Not only is their staff nice and well attentive but the staff is always bringing out fresh food. Unlike other places I've gone to, Happy Buffet is my number one choice for your money. Sushi, Salmon, Chicken, Beef, and since there located in the heart of a Spanish community they even have Lechoń! Fresh steamed white rice, several kinds of soups my favorite is the hot and sour soup. They have a Hibachi in the back, so you can select your chicken, steak, or shrimps to have them cook it to your liking. I didn't like it, it's more a Cuban buffet than a Chinese buffet. The only Chinese food in there was the poorly made uncle Ben fried rice, soggy honey garlic chicken and extremely greasy spring rolls. Everything else was practically Cuban food. And most of the food was not pleasing to the eye. We had to ask for them to make honey garlic chicken without the honey garlic so the kids could eat it. The hibachi raw meat was not well chilled nor covered. We ordered water and we had green things floating in our water cups. And the restrooms were disgusting. I told my child to "hold it" and we left to use the restroom at Publix. I can honestly say we are never going there again. read more

Dreadful food. My family and I went on a slow day and, even so, there were many items not on display, had to wait a long time for things like bourbon chicken and the fried rice. Not many people are comfortable with buffets in this wasn't the exception, nevertheless, I ended up here while looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. The place is packed at lunch time, not only by sitting customers but also take out and food by the pound. This Chinese buffet with a Cuban touch will give you all kind of options from pulled pork to orange chicken. I like to try a little bit of everything and I need to admit most of the staff I tried was pretty good. From the meats to the veggies, everything looked and tasted very fresh. I was only disappointed for the dessert but it was more of my choice; I had several options and I guess chose wrong. The worse buffet i have ever come to . It's dirty, the foods cold, they force you to wear a mask but majority of the workers don't wear it. Nobody is using gloves that's a high red flag for restaurants. I got a stomach ache after the few bites I had from here. Never again. Even the hibachi food was undercooked. The staff is amazing, the waiters actually keep an eye on your drinks to refill them, most restaurant you have to call the waiter for more drinks but not there , they actually care for their customers. I mainly visited this place because they had sushi but to be honest it wasn't that good and there wasn't that much to choose from but the other foods I tried were good. The service was average. We were seated as soon as we walked in tho when paying the lady stood there and just watched as we payed and waited for us to tip her. Copy of the email sent to the health department in tallahassee I am writing to you to leave a complaint, a situation in the place called "Happy Buffet" 1533 west 49th st, Hialeah, fl, 33012. On Saturday 22 I started to eat at this restaurant with my girlfriend and her daughter, a child under 10 years of age, while we ate, I noticed that the glass of soda girl the straw white, had "something stuck", looking more closely I saw a black slime along, I had a viscous, sticky consistency, (my experience working kitchen allows me to distinguish which is a type of fungus from the machine soda that was not cleaned for a long time or ice machine) to keep looking I also found spots black on the ice which would have to be clear almost transparent, talk to the employee, who offered me talk to the manager, while waiting and taking photos, a waiter claim me , I could not take pictures and had to go ... to get the manager asked only apologize, charging me and asked me to remove my site. That day we were all gastrointestinal problems, from stomach pains even vomiting., Delay in sending me this email did not know where to turn. I was vacationing and found this place through yelp online. And decided to try it! I really love this place. It has a lot of great choices of fresh food. This is the most disgusting place ever. I will never ever go back to this buffet. I was there yesterday with my husband. We went to go grab our food and noticed that everything looked not so appealing but we gave it a chance anyway. my husband's rice was mushy and all the food was cold. I like chicken teriyaki and I had grabbed one from the buffet when I bit into it it was completely and utterly raw. I stopped eating and called my server and asked to speak to the manager so that we can leave. At least they weren't rude when I showed them.they let us go and we obviously didn't pay for the check. Recently ate here and I was disgusted with the sanitation. Very dirty and unclean practices. One of the attendants changed a rice pan and to not waste the bit left in the remaining pan pushed it out with his own hands. The food is awful and greasy. It's cheap to eat here but come on, the food has to be at least tolerable. I see someone else's review states that their glad the place embraces their in a Latin community and they also serve plantains and papa rellena in the buffet, basically the easiest, greasiest things they can add to a menu and make it look good. It's unfortunate that here in Miami Pretty much all Chinese buffets are half Asian half Hispanic. If I wanted that I would go to a Latin restaurant. It's already Latin food everywhere I turn, I don't need more when I go into what's meant to be an Asian buffet. While checking the other reviews I agree that the place needs to be checked by the state for sanitation. And the service sucked. We got our drinks after a few minutes and never got a refill again. The place was empty when we went! At the end when I signed the receipt and didn't leave a tip the waitress slid the receipt back to me and started stabbing her finger at the tip line like I owed her something. Yeah right. Not sure if all the other reviewers were at the same place.. But I had a pretty bad experience here. Unfortunately, it was my bright idea to choose a Chinese buffet for family dinner. I was hungry at the time and decided, what better place to get your meal for your buck than at a buffet? It was only when I sat down to eat that I realized "what was I thinking?" The first beautiful sight upon walking in was a homeless man asking for money. Now, I'm not an overtly mean person, but what on Earth is a homeless man doing asking for spare change in front of a Chinese buffet in the middle of 49th street? I just want to eat my food and not feel guilty, sir, please, don't do this to me. The place was pretty busy but I'm not exactly sure why. Our "waitress" (kind of mean and didn't smile once) pointed at a dirty table (which was clambered right next to another occupied dirty table). Before I could even sit down and realize what a mistake I made in coming in here she was already asking my my drink order. That was strike 1. The only positive thing was their huge array of food. They had a lot of options and I give props to the overworked cooks that have to keep up with the mob of hungry customers. However, I'm assuming because there were a mob of hungry customers, flavor and sanitation was thrown out the window. My chicken was soggy (is that even possible?) and the rice was beyond hard. I took a chance on the sushi and was unsurprised by the chewy lump of crab that was probably fished out of a can. Back at my communal table, I was graced with the good fortune in sitting directly behind a fussy toddler. And by "directly behind" I mean, our pull out chairs were practically glued to each other. I had to slide across my brother' lap to get into my side of the table. Now, if anyone is still reading this morbidly long review, then I salute you, and ask if you're brave enough to go here... Don't. Our party consisted of myself, my parents, and my brother. Guess how much our check was? 50$ not including tip. FIFTY DOLLARS. And for what?! Three lumps of canned chicken and a spoon of rice. Always a nice spot to visit in Hialeah. Very extensive selection, and the fact that they don't deny they are in a latin community and add some latin flavor in their chinese buffet is huge! Even though the server's job is not complicated there since people get their own food they still have plenty to go around and refill drinks and keep tables clean which shows the management care about their guests. The only thing that could make this place just a tad better is if they had a few custimizable item's where there could be a cook to toss up some special custimizable fried rice for example. The food there is amazing although the place smells a little. I don't recommend going there after showering. I have to say my favorite part there is the mashed potatoes. They are amazing. The minute I walk in I find myself heading straight for them. Their chicken nuggets and pizza is just as good. Their service is pretty good. The waitress was really friendly and welcoming. They always look happy and excited to work. Finding people who do want to work is really hard these days but I think they have done a good job. read more
