My experience at Long Island Spay and Neuter began on a high note, characterized by exceptional…read morecare and attention for my pets. Dr. Burger, a traditional veterinarian, genuinely connected with his patients, providing compassionate and knowledgeable care. The practice's commitment to affordable spay and neuter services was a significant asset. However, over time, the focus seemed to shift towards profitability. The transition to a larger facility brought changes that negatively impacted the quality of service. The once-familiar voices answering the phone were replaced by unfamiliar staff, leading to frustrating delays in communication. The ability to see Dr. Burger diminished, resulting in a rotating roster of veterinarians that disrupted the continuity of care. Obtaining essential medication for my dogs, particularly their anti-seizure prescriptions, became a cumbersome process. I found myself needing to visit the office monthly or manage complicated interactions with online pharmacies, which added unnecessary stress. Ultimately, Long Island Spay and Neuter has transformed from a trusted veterinary practice into a business that prioritizes profit over patient care. This shift has compromised their integrity and has drawn unfortunate comparisons to less reputable practices in the area. I hope they can realign their focus on the well-being of their patients and restore the trust they once inspired.

Animal Emergency Services, Selden THANK YOU FOR AWESOME…read moreCARE! Thank you for the outstanding care that was given to my nieces cat, Luna today. This is the second time I've had a reason to come to your emergency hospital. I have found the care and the staff to be outstanding and compassionate. Your front desk staff is pleasant, personable, attentive, and quick. While waiting for our cat, I watched how staff treated other patients as they came and went. One couple was met with our vet tech and a gurney in the parking lot to bring their dog in. Staff were amazing. Today, Dr. Mel thoroughly explained our cats problem and how sedation would be needed for treatment. She took photographs of the cats's mouth to help us understand the problem and she explained what medication we would be leaving with. Our pet was given an injection that would last for two weeks. We went in at roughly 1030 and we were out by 3:30. After the staff time invested, diagnosis, sedation, several medications, surgical work, the fee for service on a Sunday was $760. I thought this was a more than fair and reasonable bill. The vet tech.(whose name I did not get today) did an exceptional job of explaining the statement. Another vet tech, John I met on another day was equally as kind. The entire team seems so cohesive. That is a difficult thing to achieve in any office . My only complaint is they are an emergency room. When needed, This is the vet office that I would want to go to on a regular basis. Sheila Carpenter LMSW
