Great place! My puppy comes here twice a week. The staff is very friendly and focused on nurturing our family pets, including reports if our pet has an off day like not eating etc. The staff is amazing and caring. I have no complaints whatsoever. read more

Took our dog to happy hounds for the obedience class. She is a rescue, and is very hesitant with new things. By the last last she was doing the obstacles with confidence! She does all the normal commands and is more social, thanks to Diane and her training skills. read more

Diane is amazing and so are the high school girls who work there. Michelle comes off extremely rude and does not know how far her tone goes. She very clearly does not have experience with rescue dogs and how they may adapt at different paces. We took a class with Diane and absolutely loved it and learned so much. We were told Michelle was also great, but her attitude and defiance of knowing your dog better than you do is disheartening. We tried to enroll our dog in daycare on the long days we work and Michelle dictated what days my dog would be welcome and called me the first day in the morning and said my dog needed to be picked up because he was nervous. He was there 1 hour and I was still charged a full day and told he could only come for half days. With my husband And I working full time, half days aren't an option but we wanted our Corgi to get socialization and playtime with friends. That was the only reason for daycare. Then she told me she had sprayed my dog in the face when my dog barked once at her and my corgi is now terrified of spray bottles. All in all, if Diane and the high school girls were the only part of Happy Hounds, this would get 5+ stars, but Michelle's attitude, demeaning tone, and dictation of daycare days and hours had us pulling our dog out. She told my husband he could love our dog and still punish him when she had no idea how hard we've worked with him and how bad his life was before we rescued him. I hope Michelle gets it together because other people had warned us about her attitude and lack of professionalism and I see now how bad it is. The news is starting to spread and I'd hate to see this business go down because of an unprofessional owner who does not respect her employees. She basically barks orders at them. This is one of the BEST Doggy Day Care in the area. Toby has been there for 4 years now, started as a puppy. He has never gotten kennel cough and is always happy to be there. Michelle and Diane definely are experts,offering different levels of classes for your furbaby. The other caregivers are great as well. I'm not sure where these negative reviews are coming from. Our experience was pretty great! I decided to check out Happy Hounds because it's very close to where I live, and I wanted my dog to socialize and get out his energy. He's only a year old so he still gets pretty hyper sometimes. It was the first day of bringing my dog here and I was nervous - my dog is my baby and I am nervous leaving him ANYWHERE without me. When I first walked in, I could see the Happy Hounds is kept very clean and didn't smell or anything weird like that. (and I have a sensitive nose) On the first day, you get a sit-down with the owner to sign papers and all that kind of stuff. She answered all my questions, and I think she could tell I was worried but she put me at ease by explaining how my dog's day would go, and that she would be keeping an eye on him. I was also allowed to see the play areas where my dog would be all day and again, they were very clean and there were employees present in both rooms. All in all, I knew I had no reason to worry and I really didn't the whole day I was at work. We're home now and he's absolutely pooped out! The people who run this place are not friendly and kind of rude. We first noticed the rudeness when we picked up our dog and the woman behind the counter spoke to a woman about some thing her dog did....which in reality was normal dog behavior. She kept going on and on making the dog owner feel as if it was her fault. Very uncomfortable.. Then as the weeks went on she started on our dog saying it was aggressive and tried to nip at people. These comments were so out of left field because we have taken our dog to other day cares by places we lived and even to places we vacationed and NEVER had a problem. We stopped going here since it was clear our dog and this place weren't connecting. She's now in a new doggie day care where she's loved and she's enjoying her time there. read more

My dog has gone to training and been a frequent pup to daycare for the last 6 months. The second we show up he's thrilled to be there, all of the workers know him and make him behave while he is there. He's a bit of a wild energy so a day at daycare has him pooped and relaxed for a whole day past his day there. Highly recommend this place for high energy pups, they even get a nap midday! read more

The customer service skills, even of the owner, are seriously lacking. My dog ended up being so stressed out after a few weeks of visiting this place I wish I would have never put him through whatever happened here. They refused to give me a tour after I addressed my concerns. Don't take your pets here, they're left outside too long in the hot/cold elements with lack of supervision. read more

Diane and I had a disagreement. I still left my dog after she had me in tears because she was yelling at me so bad. She ran my dog until his paw pads were rubbed raw and bloody. She hurt my dog to get back at me and the owner was supposed to call me about it and never did. Some dog lover you are... abusive is more like it. read more

We love Happy Hounds! Our chocolate lab does, too. Each time we go, as we drive closer she begins to get excited. She knows the way! Then, open the door, look out! She wants to get in as soon as possible. We usually go Wednesdays (sometimes other days, too) and there must be 50-60 dogs waiting to get in, already in, or arriving with their owners! All of this a few minutes after they open at 7. Staff is friendly and busy! I always wonder about folks that complain, like I saw in an earlier review. Despite what their review says, I'll bet they still take their dog to Happy Hounds anyway! Keep up the good work, Happy Hounds! This is the best doggie daycare in the area. read more

I had a 1 & 1/2 yr. Old Lab/Shepherd/Dane named Barron who was a stray from Indiana. He wasn't potty trained and had separation anxiety. Barron & I learned so much when we took the Basic Obedience classes ... Barron's confidence level actually soared. I appreciated their patience with me and interaction with everyone to make sure everyone was on the same page . Happy Hounds was recommended by my vet so I signed my dog up for a 6 week training course. I attended one session and did not return. The place was very dirty and smelled bad. I own a small ranch with multiple animals and am not a shrinking violet about smells. There were literally piles and drifts of dog hair and a thick coating of dirt on every surface. I really didn't want to give my dog a down command and have her lay in the dirt that was everywhere. In addition, there was a large German Shepard in the class that was extremely dog aggressive. The trainer kept having us move around the room to practice commands in different areas. Every time this guy moved his dog the dog tried to attack another dog. My dog was constantly on guard and fearful because of this. The trainer stopped class to go get a large pinch collar to try to help the guy better control his dog, which did not help much. In talking with another dog trainer where I'm now taking my dog for training, she told me that she would never allow such a dog aggressive dog to stay in class, which I agree with. The trainer at Happy Hounds put all of our dogs at risk, possibly the people also, and we derived little value from the class given how fearful and upset all the dogs were. There are much better places to take your dog in the area. I would never take any dog to this facility for any of their services. They don't offer refunds, so I was out the $125, which I knew on the front end. They also never called me to find out why I didn't return. read more
