We started going to Lake Country Dog about two years ago. We had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our puppy when I got news that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Between taking care of my grandma, my mom, and a new puppy, I was overwhelmed. I started sending Oliver to Lake Country Dog to give him some attention and to give me a bit of a break while I tended to the other people in my life. He loves going to "school" so much, that I can't say that word in front of him without him getting excited. I know that when he's there, he is loved and well cared for. My mom has been out of treatment for a year, and my grandmother passed away last August, so I don't have a need to send Oliver to Lake Country Dog for daycare. But he loves it so much, that I still send him once a week!! Natasha also grooms him, and always does a great job. One time, he even fell asleep while being groomed. This place is fantastic. In the recent weeks the owner has made lots of long strides to become a well known dog place in the oconomowoc area. Being the only boarding and daycare facility close to home, I enjoy taking my dog there. When I get my dog groomed, the result is always great! The owner is always aware of the things going on with my pet and everyone else's and is very well committed into making her customers happy. I've also never had a problem with any of the staff there. I am very happy that I found this groomer. The owner seems very passionate about her business and her work. Initially, the inside of the facility was kind of stark, but everytime I go there she has made improvements and changes. New kennels, a new gated entry, a cleaner smell, etc. It's quickly becoming a really incredible place for your pet. My dog always looks great when I pick her up and my dog never seems freaked out as she has when I've taken her to other groomers. The owner has a way with my dog that seems to calm her down a bit. I have been taking my Wheaten there for about a year now for daycare and HE LOVES IT! When we pull in he can't wait to get out of the car, running to the door and when he gets home he is completely worn out! I Love it! He sleeps like a baby for a day or two after his days at "School" and I love it! And the best part about it.... Natasha delivers them all at the end of the day! I took my dog Bella here today who is a Yellow Lab/Chow Chow mix. Her grooming was absolutely perfect! I have had my dog for six years now and have only seen this great of a grooming job done on her once when I first got her! She looks so perfect and was so happy with the staff!!! This was a negative experience for me. If I could give no stars I would as my dogs were kicked out and not serviced. I noted on the contract that my dogs are skittish at the groomers and that one has very limited vision - thus makes him scared around other dogs. Their website does not say that other dogs are running around loose while your dog is being groomed. Not a safe environment for any dog, let alone those who are skittish. What would have been helpful is if they could have told me at the beginning that my dogs were not a good fit for her facility instead of letting me drop them off, get all the way home - a good 20 minute drive - and then call me. That's what really upset me more than the fact that they were not serviced. Consumers beware - this is a sketchy looking facility at best and if your dog is any way skittish around others, then it's not the place for you or your pet. read more

Please beware of this business!!! I took my 3 dogs to get groomed yesterday, paid almost 200.00 with tip. My dogs have been groomed here 2 times prior to this with no problems. I write this because I'm extremely upset at the owners response to my complaints. I have been a good customer to this business always pre booking and leaving tips for the groomers. Upon bringing my dogs home we noticed a large lump on my cockapoos head. His eye was almost swollen shut. We immediately contacted the groomer, who stated that my dog was upset by being in the kennel. My dogs are all kenneled throughout the day and at night and are frequently boarded at the vet. My dog is very low energy and is rarely upset. I never suggested that anything malicious was done to my dog. We took my dog to the vet and he had to have his eyes examined with dye and had laser treatment to his hematoma. We informed the groomer that we would like are vet bill paid for and she simply replied that they weren't responsible and that this could have happened days ago. Anyone with any common sense knows a bumps develop rather quickly, which is also what are vet stated. She said nothing happened to Marvin and that if he got upset in his cage that wasn't her problem. I would like to warn anyone thinking of trusting your dog in this individuals care. She didn't sincerely apologize and was laughing at me because I was clearly upset. Very poor business!!! The saddest fact in all of this is she didn't even care. As an animal lover I would have at least felt bad and tried to make things right. She instantly went on the defense. I like small business because of the fact that you deal with people you can work with and trust, sadly this wasn't the case. Even if you are a current customer I would look elsewhere! read more
