This place is incredible! My wife and I drive an extra 20 minutes (passing several other daycares) to take him to this one. My pupper (Agent Mulder) is not a morning dog and will usually hide under the bed if we try to get him to go anywhere too early -- but when he hears "daycare" he comes running, ready to go. By the time he gets home he's exhausted, which is exactly what I want. Another great reason we chose Playtime is because they're so flexible about when we can drop off and pick him up. They didn't tell us to pick certain days/times to bring him in, which is great because my wife and I have chaotic schedules. When either of us are fed up with our wild boy, we can just drop him off for a while and know he'll come back chill. The staff members are also fantastic and have more patience than I could ever ask for. I can barely handle my dog some days, yet they handle him AND dozens of others. I've tried about 5 other daycares and this one hands down takes the prize. Truly awesome place! read more

Until recently, our family was blessed to have two dogs, one Shih Tzu mix and an Aussie. The Aussie is 8 years old, the Shih Tzu was going to turn 8 at the end of September. We've had both since they were just puppies. so they grew up together and became very close buddies. We had been planning a family trip over the summer vacation for a couple of weeks, so we wanted a safe place that we could board our dogs for the time we were gone. Eventually, we found a place near our house so we decided to drop them there for a couple of days a week to see how they would do there before we left for our trip. On Tuesday, July 16 at 7:30 am we dropped off both of the dogs for their temperament testing and daytime boarding. Within the first two hours we get a call that our little dog had seizures. Now, both have been healthy dogs that had never had significant health problems. Very soon after the first call, we get a second call informing us that the little guy had passed away. My daughter left work and we both rushed to the boarding place. It's only a 3 minute drive from my house. We walked in, and they told us the dog was next door at the animal hospital. We rushed there only to see him lying there, dead. When we asked what happened, the people at the hospital told us they don't know. They said the dog was already dead when they first saw him. When they brought him in, they tried to resuscitate him, but they couldn't save him. We asked the doggy care assistant manager to show us the footage of those two hours that our dogs were at the boarding place. In that video we saw that even during the temperament testing, our little dog was not comfortable. He was scared, but they didn't even care to call us to let us know anything. Instead, at 8:15 am, 45 minutes after we dropped them off, they put both dogs out in the play area along with the other 17 to 18 dogs, both big and small dogs. The footage we saw showed our little dog with his tail tucked in between his hind legs as he sat scared in a corner of the play area, far away from the other dogs. Finally, after a long while, one of their handlers goes to bring him inside. She walks him over to the holding area, but we can't see that area or where he goes  because of the way their camera is set up and a tarp covers that part of the footage. It is obvious from the footage that our little guy was very scared, he was walking back-and-forth trying to find any way out, going by the fence, trying to scale the fence, almost as if he was wondering how to escape. We even saw our other dog walking near him and protecting him as the other dogs would try to come over to check him out. For 45 minutes our little guy was scared for his life but no one, neither the dog handler nor any staff members, went up to him to comfort him. They didn't even have the courtesy to give us a call to let us know the situation. During all that time, nobody paid any attention to him. When we asked them why didn't anybody do anything, they told us it is their protocol to let the dogs walk around and watch other dogs and get comfortable. But the footage very clearly shows that our dog was not comfortable from the minute he was brought out to the play area... he was scared for his life.   After over 45 minutes the handlers finally took the dogs inside one by one.  They took our bigger dog inside before they took our smaller dog inside, so they took away what little comfort that he had and then the handler puts a leash on our little dog and still shows no compassion for this little pooch! Again, the gates and that area is not visible on the footage because of the tarp, and we were told that our dog passed away in that holding area. We had an independent autopsy done which revealed NO underlying health issues, which leads us to believe that he passed from panic, literally from being scared. This could easily have been prevented!! I pray nothing like this should ever happen to anyone's pet and no pet owner should ever go through the pain that we are going through.    Please do not take your loved ones to ... Been taking my pup here for two years and she loves it! Love how they have a set schedule for the dogs with breaks in between. My dog is always tired when she gets home and excited to go to daycare. Their prices are great and I trust the workers to take excellent care of my Billie! read more

Absolutely the worst. I would have never left him there if they would have told me about raw paw. I dropped him off in good health and picked him up with his paws raw and bleeding. And limping. They did notice this? And did nothing to help it. They didn't even tell me when I picked him up. I got him home and he was falling and limping. You couldn't miss it. The owner was ignorant. And denied everything. With no help or sympathy for my small 1 year old dog That can barely walk. I guess it's ok for this to happen to the small percent this happens to. Drop your dog off and pick him up bleeding and limping. Imagine this was a child at a daycare and this happened. lawsuits would filed. But because it was a small dog. So first in looking for a new dog. I thought I better do research for a place to take him while I'm at work. Well I spoke to somebody that just started there 2 weeks ago, she was great. This place sounds like if they had room for a human, I'd be there. Fun and helpful... this place actually convinced me to really pursue finding a dog because I know he will be safe at a nice place like this... I have used the first location for over 6 years. I started coming to this one after they opened. I am just as happy with this new location as the original!!! My pup, Sinnie is so happy to go to daycare. When I get off the freeway and head down Layton, that tail starts wagging! Then she starts barking until I park the car. She runs to the entrance, tail wagging until I open the door. The staff is always professional, happy, and a delight to deal with. I know everyone there loves dogs and treats them properly and respectfully. I started having her groomed there. Love the cut and sweet hankie around her neck. I hesitated taking my rescue dog (who has horrible separation anxiety) to the daycare center. I decided that it would perhaps be the best thing for him so I went to visit/tour the facility. I walked in looking for things that were negative - to my surprise, there were none. I've been taking him once or twice a week since June and he's loving it! The staff is very kind and helpful. I took my puppy there over weekend. He slipped and fell. They dont want anything to do with him. They will not cover him slipping and falling at vet. Do not take your dog here they dont care and if he gets injured it is on you. They will be hearing from my lawyer. read more

The BEST Doggy Daycare in town! My dogs Ezme and Loki have been going here once a week for almost a year and absolutely LOVE it! I have been looking for a daycare for my dog, Oreo, since moving to Milwaukee. I have trust issues with daycare places since having a terrible experience while living in California. So now I have to thoroughly vet a new place before allowing my dog to spend a full day at some place unknown. Yes, I'm that dog mom:). I called this place ahead of time, set up an appointment to see the facility and felt it was one of the nicer places I've toured in Wisconsin. I like that they have an indoor area for the winter but still let the dogs go outside to relieve themselves. Most of the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and are willing to answer any questions you have. Most of these employees also remember my dog by name when he walks in, which always impresses me. Once-in-a-while, like today, for example, there was an employee who didn't even smile or say 'good morning' and didn't greet my dog beyond a quick brush of her hand against his head even though he was SO excited to see her. So that's disappointing. Speaking of an excited dog, I think that's the true sign of a great daycare facility. My dog gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and can't wait to get inside. So I'm sure he's enjoying himself and that puts me at ease. Two things that kept me from giving this place 5 stars are: 1) my dog is always really thirsty when he comes home from daycare. I'm not sure why 2) He always has a really full bladder when I pick him up so I don't know how long he's been holding his pee. I know the dogs are allowed to pee inside but since he's house-trained I'm not sure if he just doesn't. We will continue going here because the location is close to work and to where I live and because my dog seems to like it a lot. We will be trying the grooming in a few weeks so I'll try to remember to update my review then! read more
