    Well stocked bar
    Denny B.

After decades and multiple owners, this place was known as Cantiles. Indoor dining - check, fully stocked bar with good bartenders - check, outdoor dining under palm trees - check, free parking on the dirt road - check. Enter new owner who changes the sacred name. Plain to see what they want to be. A place where serious drinking is done. Although there are no names on the seats, you know where Dan, Bob, Debbie, Art, Chrissy and Luke sit each day. Notice no Latino names. Santos runs a great kitchen and when they fire up the wood-fired pizza oven, it is the best place to get pizza at the right price, $6, on the coast. Meanwhile, if you want a big burger $6, this is your place If you are an alcoholic or maybe thinking about becoming one, this is a good place for that adventure. Plenty of experienced drinkers both male and female. Very forward, outspoken women looking for a temporary partner. The bar scene is like the 70's and 80's all over again. Five stars for the food, 4 stars for the pours, 6 stars for the chances for getting lucky.

My little (7) was tired of tacos (rude) so we went on an adventure to find pizza.

It might sound odd to say you're going to Mexico for authentic Italian food, but this is the place. Everything is delicious, fresh, and full of love. We always start with the Caprese salad. Then we share a pizza (always thin, crispy, and flavorful) and sometimes a pasta dish. A glass of wine completes the meal and sets the perfect tone for the rest of the drive. What really makes Ollie's special is the heart behind it all. The owner named the place after his beloved dog, Ollie. When Ollie passed away, he got another dog and gave it the same name. so "Ollie" has always been there, welcoming us back each time like an old friend. Also, I usually have a thing about bathrooms (I'm picky!), but this one is super clean , which I really appreciate. Friendly service, great food, and a story that sticks with you. Ollie's is a Rosarito must. As a sidenote : this place is only open in the late afternoons and evenings. It's walking distance from Las Gaviotas , which I know is a very popular place for Americans to visit.

From upstairs you can see the ocean. This place attracts locals & expat's alike and features karaoke on the weekends. We didn't come on a weekend, we came on a Monday and the place just had a few locals at the bar when we arrived for dinner. The food was really good, we tried too many things because the serving size is HUGE on some dishes like the shrimp molcajete & the carne asada Quesadilla. Either dish could be split between two people. My favorite thing was the fish taco and I could probably eat 2 or 3 if that's all I ordered. Bottom line the food was really good- the ambiance is kinda corky but I liked it. Our waitress was really nice although I wish we would have been warned as to how much food we were ordering- we simply couldn't finish a lot of it! All that said I will definitely go back when in the area, as I mentioned the fish tacos are fantastic! Recommended!! Happy eating!

That being said,…read moredecades ago this review would have been a strong 5 stars but now we are teetering on a high three, low four. The pricing has become ridiculous for this little lobster village. You're no longer getting a deal but you're paying for the view, the vibe, and the fact that you pinch yourself and say to yourself, "I'm only about an hour from home." Now that's pretty cool. The lobster still holds up and when dipped in the clarified butter with those homemade tortillas and refried beans/rice, you have to simply savor the moment. It's delicious. Grab a cold Tecate, a shot of tequila, and enjoy the view. It's so uniquely Baja.
