Well, if you enjoy dirty tables, unswept, sticky floors, a soda and Ice machine that doesn't work, and zero "bistro" atmosphere, this place is for you. I ordered a spicy california roll. It wasn't made as described on the menu, was not spicy (as it was just a regular california roll.) It was literally the teeniest sushi roll I've ever seen. Krogers is better, is a normal size and costs 1.00 less. The chicken "fried" rice was NOT traditional. It was literally steamed rice with turmeric powder added to make it yellow with a handful of last year's freezer burned veggies thrown in. It never even touched the inside of a wok. We both ordered two different beef dishes that tasted exactly the same. Mine was supposed to be spicy but zero spice. We spent 33.00 and it was very disappointing. read more

This place is consistently fresh, excellent food no matter what we ordered! We mostly do take out and packaged so well and you get your food so fast and always hot! It's been a minute since we've eaten here, but the Garlic Shrimp was always quite good - one of our favorite dishes! We always ordered it there, even though it always seemed to come with a side dish of "bad attitude". The older man who works at the counter is always so grumpy that we thought they should've named the place "Unhappy House"! We held out for better service after they remodeled the place and added the sushi counter, but the bad attitudes and poor service never changed. We did find a great little place on the other end of Lexington Avenue with a very nice and polite little family making great Chinese food just recently. We love their Garlic Shrimp just as much, if not more, which always comes with a side dish of "thank you". Asian Taste now has our business. read more

The bathroom was filthy, no toilet paper was left on the dispenser. There was no hot water to wash your hands. Makes one wonder if the bathroom is dirty, what does the kitchen look like. I hear a lot about Chinese restaurants being dirty and not clean at all. I felt nervous about eating the food, considering the above comments. I don't think I would go back there anytime soon. I've ordered from here several times - their poke bowls are so yummy :-) last night I accidentally ordered the wrong thing without even realizing it until I got home. They replaced my order with what I thought I was ordering and were extremely friendly about it and even told me exactly how to order next time to avoid the same issue. This place is absolutely terrible. No flavor to the food. I ordered sesame chicken and there was just a sprinkle of sesame seeds on the chicken. The broccoli was in just hard chunks. There is a take out section and a sushi section. You place your order at the take out section. That is printed out for the sushi chef in the sushi section.. . . who is in the kitchen manning a wok. so you wait. . wait. . wait. . until you are not willing to wait any longer. I am touchy about sushi. The first thing I notice is the counter is not clean, and has remains from a previous order. The next thing I notice is that the sushi knife is covered with smears from the previous orders. The last thing I notice, is that the food is uncovered, and the raw meat is only loosely wrapped, semi covered. After asking about my order, the wok chef aka sushi chef bustled out of the kitchen and started to assemble my order. But didn't clean ANYTHING first. Safety first when eating raw food. I only visit Lexington/Mansfield one or twice a year. But when I visit Lexington I always make an excuse to eat at Happy House. They have a substantial menu covering "Chinese food" standards (chow mein, chop suey, lo mein, etc.) but also dishes from more remote corners of that vast and diverse country. I would take me years to sample everything. My preference is for the spicy dishes so I look for everything with a red pepper mark. I'm comfortable recommending them to anyone. Maybe it's because we typically come is so late in the day (after driving from Chicago), but I never see anyone actually sitting down and eating at Happy House. An enormous percentage of their business must be take-out. It's not a very attractive strip mall, but it's nice and clean and comfortable inside Happy House. Happy House may not be the best Chinese restaurant in North America. But I'm confident its' the best Chinese restaurant in the Mansfield area, and probably the best Chinese restaurant between Cleveland and Columbus. So don't bother searching - just go there and enjoy the food. read more

A business that is obviously doing so well that it isn't in need of my money or my positive feed back , since when I called to ask if they offered delivery I received a very sorry "No. We do not." And then was immediately hung up on. Congrats to them for doing so well. My original post was a year ago. So, I decided to give this restaurant another try. This time I walked in and was greeted by a very grumpy middle aged man wearing a dirty, black, wool beanie. I looked over the menu, decided what I wanted, placed my order and paid. After a relatively short wait I received my food and went home. I ordered General Tso's chicken, which is supposed to be a spicy dish, what I got tasted more like Orange chicken and was extremely bland at that and not a single dried red chilli pepper in the whole dish. What kind of General Tso's chicken is that? Two pork egg rolls, I received 2 vegetable rolls. So, I was charged more than I should have been and they were also pretty tasteless. Lastly, I ordered fried noodles as a substitute for the white rice that typically comes with the meal and received fried rice instead. After giving it a go I found myself not interested in finishing that at all. I'd recommend another place other than this one for anyone looking for decent Chinese food but as of yet I haven't found one in this area that can actually pull off decent Chinese food. Promise times are VERY inaccurate , they text you that it will be approximately 35 min. When the wait time is actually over 1 hour . I visit the store at least twice a month. I've been going there for 7 years. 95% of the time, the food is REALLY good. About a year or so ago, they started serving smaller and cheaper tasting egg roles, which is too bad. The previous egg roles were outstanding. Just to start I just downloaded this app for this restaurant. Im not big into rating restaurants I have better things to do. I use to eat at the Happy House at least 2 times a month.Ive ordered sushi here they made it custom for me . Not a hard thing to do . Shrimp, avocado cream cheese crab meat and eel sauce. Two days ago I went into the restaurant to order my normal sushi and a meal for my gf . When I went to order the sushi the owner told me it will take awhile to get sushi , which was fine I just pick my Gfs order up and left and didn't get the sushi. I was a little disappointed but I always assume people are busy working. Today I went on my 2nd trip to the Happy House. They weren't busy, the sushi bar was set up and the employee that makes the sushi was sitting in the corner . I asked the owner if I could get my a custom sushi roll . I was told no we don't do that anymore rudly..Is it the end of world no. But I will never order food there again . Thanks for reading my vent if you get sushi here good luck .
