Atmosphere: chairs looks like they were dragged through the mud, some legs on them were bent, and the chairs were small. The place looks very old and has chipper wood around the windows. No music was played, no one was there, and the only entertainment is 2 TVs, one with Spongebob and the other with Marvel Rivals gameplay. It wasn't tidy. The floor wasn't very clean, either. 3/10 Service: The people were nice and got our food to us about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the nacho supreme platter from Happy Joes pizza in Crookston, MN. When I think of Nachos, I think of tortilla chips with lots of cheese, jalapeños, and I like onions and sometimes black olives with sour cream and some hot sauce on the side. Well..... I took a chance on their version of "nachos" .... I wouldn't call what I got nachos... they came in a small pizza box. It consisted of a couple of small handfuls of taco flavored tortilla chips with a sprinkling of cheddar cheese and that is being generous! maybe two Tablespoons of taco meat, a few tomato pieces, a few slices of jalapenos a bit of onion and lots of lettuce with sour cream and hot sauce on the side. Crookston's favorite pizza joint, Happy Joes has been turning out pizzas for 40 years. Thinking we would escape the house and left over Christmas food, we found Happy Joes to be a popular place. I think half of Crookston was in here having the famous "taco" pizza and the "nacho" pizza. The kitchen staff was working hard to keep up with the phone in orders and those who stopped by. Cheese stick pizza are also a favorite. Pizzas are made on site with good quality ingredients. Nothing fancy here--just a family friendly place that serves good pizzas each and every day. This was my first time visiting Happy Joe's pizza! There is lots of parking right outside of the restaurant with handicap parking available. The restaurant was clean and has a ton of seating. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, Hawaiian pizza, and cheesy crusts. The pizzas crust was delicious! Not too thick not too thin. Have been in town this week visiting relatives and we decided to go here for their buffet lunch. For 8.75 its all you can eat with several pizzas to choose slices from as well as a couple of hot dishes (casseroles for you non-Minnesotas types!) and salad. As someone coming from halfway across the country, I found this pizza to be very reasonably priced and pretty tasty! The service style is a little unconventional however the wait time wasn't long. You can't come to Crookston without going to Happy Joe's. While the prices are higher than chain pizza places, you definitely get a quality meal and a cozy atmosphere. The lunch buffet never disappoints and is always full of salad, hotdish, cheese sticks and multiple pizzas. They have also expanded into gluten free crusts and online ordering for your convenience. Took 1 hour and 40 minutes to deliver our order. A medium pepperoni and bacon and a medium dessert pizza for $30. The pizza was not terrible, but not great either. Not warm and pretty bland stuff.
