The techs are also sweet and very caring towards our dog. All staff has been nothing but friendly, helpful, and thorough when it comes to the health and well-being of our dog. It is easy to get an appointment here or at their other location and at Rover the Rhine, they also have weekend hours. The only downside we've run into (and hence 4 and not 5 stars) is that our dog has gotten older and to get her medication anywhere outside of their preferred (usually more pricey) pharmacy is impossible. You can get a written Rx but no online pet pharmacy will take it because it's not faxed from the office (note: you can mail it in but if the script isn't given weeks in advance you run the risk of your dog going without medication for some time). They also refuse to call in the Rx so it's slightly annoying. Thus, if you are one who likes price shopping for your pet's medications, taking your pet here for care is not an option if you choose to use their vet services. It's really unfortunate because we love going here but since we suspect our pet will need more meds as she gets older, we might have to reconsider our options.

My pomsky puppy has had several appointments so far to get all of his puppy vaccines, neutering and microchipping. The staff has always been very kind and responsive to any questions/concerns I had. Cost of services is consistent with industry standards and they take the appropriate safety precautions such as performing bloodwork to ensure your pet is safe to undergo anesthesia. That option isn't always provided at all clinics which is very concerning. I would recommend them to others and plan to have them continue to provide excellent care to my pup in the future!

Owners are very nice. The workers are not caring like blue ridge kennel or even the hospital that took over. Our dog came back dirty and with kennel cough. My wife was appalled at the workers. They didnt care and told her so. The place was closed when she came to pickup the dog even though it was 10am. The dog was dying to go to the bathroom when she got home. He wouldnt eat for days. The worker made a comment about this being just a job. She came a few days in advance to fill out the paperwork. When she checked in the person had no clue and it was the same person. My sister still drives down from Dayton after moving to get her dogs groomed by Cat), and boarding every now and then. The "floating groom" option is one of our favorites as our dog can run & play in daycare while also getting a full groom, so he's both tired & clean when he comes home. They also host fun events throughout the year where you can get a themed picture of your dog, like Halloween or St. Patrick's day. The staff is always very friendly, accommodating, and some even greet Benedict by name when we walk in the lobby. Seeing 1-star reviews here really surprises me as I know myself and many other repeat customers have had zero issues with the Pet Spot and I would feel confident recommending their services to any dog owner. I would also like to suggest to anyone reading these low reviews to take some highly sensitive pet owner's opinions with a grain of salt. This is an all around GREAT dog care facility with extremely hard-to-beat prices for the area. Seriously people - be realistic. Dogs will smell a little when they get home. The lobby might smell if someone had an accident. It's truly insane to think your dog won't smell a little bit when they come home from boarding/daycare surrounded by other dogs running and playing all day. Expect to bathe them yourselves like a normal person or pay for an exit bath (a service they offer). If you want your pup to never touch dirt or pee then you should keep them at home or shell out the cash for Rover. Just my two cents!

The lobby smelled strongly in the morning when dropping her off, and smelled even worse in the afternoon when we picked her up. When they brought my dog back, she was whining, straining at the leash, and trying to make a beeline for the exit to get out of there asap - this is really strange behavior; my friendly extroverted pup usually wants to personally say goodbye with a wagging tail to everyone when we take her places. I asked the woman at the front desk how things had gone - she shrugged and just said, "looks like she passed." Then she said "didn't you get the email report?" I was confused and said no, I didn't have an email and didn't know what she was talking about. Also I'd literally just picked up my dog, so idk how they could have gotten a report out to me . "You'll get an email," she said confidently and dismissively. I have not received one still. We asked if it was possible to see the facility, since it was our first visit, and she instead showed us cameras from the lobby that "aren't live because the system's broken". So just static blurry photos of empty indoor play yards. We asked about how and where the dogs were able to go out to use the bathroom and she said THEY ALL JUST GO WHEREVER ON THE FLOOR and "they do their best to clean it up". At this point we left. We had to stop on the way home because she was so distressed - my housebroken dog had apparently been holding her bladder and her poop all day. She drank her entire bowl of water the second she got home, so I don't think she was given access to any while at daycare for several hours. She was limping and we have no idea why, because Pet Spot couldn't give us any information about her day. We had to give her a bath that evening because she smelled terrible. On top of all this, she's now developed a rash on her paws and belly as well as an eye infection which have required vet attention. Unsurprising since she was apparently laying around in urine and feces all day. Honestly I couldn't believe how bad of an experience we had - on a first day! - and I feel bad for my poor pup that I ever dropped her off here. Do not use this place.

However, during our last visit, Ashley made an extra effort to make Phoebe fell comfortable, and it worked. She's never been so calm. It's hard to believe she's the same dog. I have spent $$$$$$$ to care for my dogs. ($3-5,000 yr} I don't even question any care that they recommend. 1- Each year I bring the employees 2 cakes so they can celebrate my dog's birthday with him. GREAT RELATIONSHIP. 2- I have brought in homemade cookies, candy etc for the holidays. One year, I brought in personalized coffee mugs for everyone. They texted and said he needed his Bordetella shot. No problem let's get it done. I show up at 12:10 pm. 1- The building is locked. I looked around ..no clue. I finally saw a 3inch by 5-6inch note on the entry door. When I arrived at 8:30am I had my dog in hand, and at the same time, I am helping another lady open the door because she had a bigger dog and she was trying to handle him. NO ONE SAID A THING WHEN I DROPPED HIM OFF......even though I said I would be back at noon. 2 - I called ....no answer. I texted the same person who texted me to get approval for his Bordetella shot. no response. They don't have a problem when they want my $$$$$$$, but now I get no communication. 3- I finally decided to walk around to the side door. Someone did answer the door, and I stated I just want my dog. I am not driving 20-25 minutes north just to turn around and drive 20-25 minutes back. I was not happy and just wanted to rest. 4- As the one employee went to get Milton another employee decided to get involved. I was not having it. i am frustrated and really just want to go home and rest. CHEMO will kick your A--! Her comment to me was ..........FIND ANOTHER VET. DID I REALLY JUST HEAR THAT......FIND ANOTHER VET. WOW. I CAN GUARANTEE SHE DID NOT HAVE ANY PERSONAL INVESTMENT IN THE BUSINESS. SHE SURE THOUGHT SHE COULD MAKE DECISIONS THAT AFFECTED ME, MY DOG AND THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS. SHE NEEDS TO FIND ANOTHER JOB IF SHE CAN'T HANDLE IT. 5- For 40 years I was a supervisor for Bridgestone/Firestone. I was responsible for one location and then for 32 locations and finally ended up as a Zone Controller that managed 286 locations. Here is the simple, proper, CARING way to handle the situation. 1- Put a larger sign on both front doors. At least an 8x11 inch. Not black and white writing. Make it stand out. This sign should go on entry and exit doors. 2- Every customer that comes in, or even calls on the phone, needs to be reminded that "we will be closed from noon to 1pm today for a special meeting". Again, every customer. 3- Even though you are closed, one employee should be assigned to watch the front office in case of a customer that needs help. REGULAR CARE OR EMERGANCY CARE. This is the way I was taught early in my career, and I followed it for the next 40 years. NO EMPLOYEE MEETING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CUSTOMER. One person can miss that meeting. They can be caught up after the meeting. FINALLY.... this location changed management as of Jan 1. (I believe Dr Kyle retired 12/31). I was extremely frustrated this morning. Anyone that has gone through Cancer treatments understands that once the session is done, all you want to do is go home and sleep. There were many steps that could have been done to eliminate the situation. I now have a decision........ do I listen to an employee that 1- doesn't care, 2-doesn't know how to handle a frustrating situation, 3- makes decisions that affect many people with no $$$$ invested in the business OR do I forget the situation and continue to bring Milton to the same place that he/I are comfortable with?? Have I been blind in the past? Have I been fooled? It is SAD that i should even have to entertain this thought. By the way, someone just emailed me a copy of Milton's records. What I find VERY INTERESTING is that they did not leave any name or who it was sent from. To me that is a coward move.
