If I could give an organization 0 stars I would. I recently booked a catsitter through this company for my 2 cats for 4 days. One of the cats is not always present when the catsitter comes, so I made sure to leave extensive notes, both in the booking, via chat, and in-person in the apartment with instructions for care. Upon my return, I found that that cat's litter box had clearly not been cleaned and the cat had no food or water. When I asked the catsitter about this, she admitted that she had not read the booking or the in-person note I left, nor had she listened to the voicemail I left while I was gone, and as such did not know that there was a second cat in the apartment. If I had been gone for a few days longer, my cat's life would have been in danger. She also said that she rarely reads her bookings, as "the instructions are the same every time." She shared that in the past, this led to an elderly cat needing an IV due to dehydration. The only compensation she offered was a free next visit...as if I will ever be seeking her services again. This woman should not be allowed to care for animals, and I am equally concerned that this organization has no checks and balances in place to prevent something like this from happening MULTIPLE TIMES!! I am livid, and would recommend any solution other than this for your petcare needs. read more

the best thing I ever did was to have the pet nanny look after my dog. the peace of mind knowing that she would be there was amazing. Every visit I received a text with pictures of them playing or walking. We were loyal customers for 3 years and previously left a 5-star review. However, the customer service and communication dramatically changed in 2018, and I can no longer recommend Professional Pet Nanny. Looking at other reviews, I see that what I experienced with the owner appears to be a pattern. During our most recent booking, we had to reach out repeatedly -- via text, email and Facebook -- just to ask for confirmation about visiting our home and our pets. More than 48 hours went by with no replies. Our first appointment time came and went, with no photo text or email, which is company policy. An owner, Kyle, finally called me (at 8:52 p.m. during my family vacation in Mexico) to tell she was "astonished" I would reach out via Facebook. Several other issues caused concern: -- When we finally did receive a photo, it showed only 1 of our 2 pets. -- Photos were taken at night. Our appointments were confirmed for mid-morning. -- When we arrived home, there was no daily log (also company policy, something always completed previously). I hate to sit here and wonder if anyone actually checked in on our boys each day. If the owner had acknowledged the poor communication and the anxiety this caused for us, I might have been willing to give them another chance. However, Kyle was not apologetic. She was defensive to basic questions, rash and abruptly blocked access to our online account. We're bummed that we no longer have our pet nanny Marissa working for us. Would not recommend this company to anyone. The first time we used them it was great. Then during the second visit, she asked about the flea prevention, we had skipped a month, she told me it was required for 12 months. We spray around our house religiously and our cats do not ever go outside. She waited an entire day and then left me a message saying that she would have to cancel our reservation. When I called her back she explained the reasoning. She then had the nerve to tell me she felt a flea bite leaving my house. When I told her that we were no longer going to use her services, she flipped out. She said I was treating her like dirt. I had kept the call professional up to that point, she is crazy. read more

We used this company for 5 years until last year or so. They WERE great. Kept our keys and we loved the peace of mind that they were essentially "on call" for any emergency. For example, we once had to leave town quickly for a funeral and they had our backs. And they once squeezed in an extra visit when we found ourselves flying to France but paranoid that we may have locked our kitty into the spare bedroom. We have three cats that require minimal care but they've also worked with giving them medicine when needed. They always went out of their way to bring in mail and tidy the house. Then, last year we filled out the form, as usual, to book them for our spring break trip. And that's when it all went wrong. They said they needed to revisit the house before we left with a new person. No problem but we scheduled times and it was always a no show. They also got increasingly adamant about flea protection. As it turns out, the last summer was crazy for fleas and all three of our cats were being treated every month with the standard topical medicine. They had not shown any signs of fleas in at least 6 months. I understand this policy as it helps keep all the pets they watch flea free. But then...THAT wasn't enough. They wanted us to take EACH cat to the vet and get flea protection IN PERSON, AT THE VET and provide proof. Can you imagine the price? Not to mention, 3 cats at a vet and by this point, we were days from leaving the country. We even suggested they call our vet to confirm that we had been purchasing our topical flea medicine there but nothing was good enough. In the end, they flat out refused to watch our cats and I was left calling on all my friends for last minute favors. Finally, we've canceled service with them but they never returned our spare key after multiple requests. The last time we were told that, as we were no longer clients nor in contact with them (???), the key had been destroyed. read more

This company was the first company I attempted to use for our new puppy earlier this year. TERRIBLE. They cancelled continually, the assigned walker was a no show several times, they complained to me how they had to cover for her. They weren't doing me a favor, they are a paid service - supposed to be professionals. Randomly, one night we received a bizarre voicemail notifying us that we were "no longer compatible with their company" (with no other information given, we were questioning ourselves, what a strange message!) Later found out the assigned walker quit, and they had no back-up plan. They tried to cancel repeatedly due to weather and ultimately dropped us as a client, because now all of a sudden we were too far out. Had to find a replacement in less than 24 hours for our 3-1/2 month year old golden. Would not recommend them to anyone and their 'range' of service is fake because we were well within. They sell you on how they send you photos during the visit which is nice (although they were too pushy with crate training). However, they were good toward my pup when they were here which is a plus. The few referrals we were given after being dropped, were unable to walk dogs in our area, so we were back to square one. read more

In the "before times" I used traveled weekly for work & never worried about anything happening in my home while out of town. Setting up a reservation is easy, with a confirmation e-mail outlining all needs (medications, water plants, collect mail, etc..) so you know everything you have requested to care for your pet(s) will be handled. The prices are excellent, the team always goes beyond, and the extras, like pet photos sent during your trip, house tidied up, always a new toy or treat left for pets, progress report to let you know of any issues (emergency vet visit, package that didn't arrive), & happy, content, well-cared for, safe pets waiting for you upon your return. Updating to review a new employee at Professional Pet Nanny...Marissa took care of our two dogs and brand new kitten while we were gone for a week on vacation. I can't say enough good things about her!! With our kitten being new, he was still a little timid being around the dogs. Marissa got them all in the same room playing together and they were well on their way to being best friends by the time we got home :) She sent us the cutest pictures every time she stopped in to feed/take care of them and it was easy to see they were having so much fun with her around. I am dismayed to write this review. I was heartbroken by this seemingly wonderful company. Kyle, the owner, had originally worked dilligently to help us almost 1 year ago when we moved to Cincinnati to ensure we got a pet sitter (we need occasional mid-day breaks for our dogs and go away every few months for a long weekend). She, personally, took over care for our dogs over the holidays this year when we moved from Oakley to Anderson. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, we had requested a mid-day potty break for our girls. Kyle had confirmed this and then had to cancel 2 days later due to her personal health issues that had come up (I completely get it, these things happen!). I contacted her expressing my concern for her health and inquiring if she could check with her other employees to see if they could still fit us in as really the girls just needs 5-10 minutes of being let out in our backyard and we were already committed to leaving town less than 48 hours later. She NEVER responded. I followed up with that issue the following week and requested one more "quick" mid-day visit and expressed my concern that she never communicated whether or not a walker could help us out as originally scheduled. Her response was "Oh, well I thought that was implied since you didn't hear back from me." Very unprofessional and unclear. I did let her know that she should be more direct with people, even in the understandable event that she cannot take a client (I get that that happens). Per the new visit request, she expressed that had a dog walker quit and couldn't accommodate us. While that was understandable as well, and she did give referrals, she neglected to tell us more important information (continue on reading - this is important). I requested a week ago one more pop by mid-day potty break for the dogs through our usual online process that is required to go through. I saw this morning that this had never been officially "approved" through the office, so I called and spoke with Kyle directly. Her first comments were "No, I didn't get that request" and "We can't fit you in next week." She followed with "well I offered your key back how did the other referrals go?" I explained that they couldn't fit a new client in on such short notice and asked why I would want my key back for just one visit with a temporary service. She said, "Oh, no we can't service where you live anymore. I thought I made that clear." I am FURIOUS. So you started the conversation as if this was a routine visit for you to take the dogs for a walk that you couldn't accommodate and failed to communicate with us, and then tell me that NOW you aren't servicing our area? All of those things are fine, but TELL US directly! She proceeded to talk over me and was rude and then YELLED at me at then of the call. She was flaky, unprofessional, and I am greatly saddened to no longer work with what was originally a great company. I DO NOT recommend working with them, particularly at this time, as clearly she is not capable of managing a business with effective communication with her clients. I have left rave reviews, referred them to other new clients and always left generous tips for the walkers. Again, we understand health issues come up (and your health first, of course!) and that people quit and you may be short-staffed. PLEASE communicate more clearly with your clients in the future. I would not be upset if this COMMUNICATION had happened appropriately from the get-go. This is no way to treat your clients and now you have put us in a very bad spot with our fur babies. read more

My husband and I have been using Professional Pet Nanny for several years now and they're fantastic! We travel frequently and use PPN to care for our two Australian Labradoodles. Tyler is our main care giver....and simply fantastic!! We usually have multiple night stays and feel the care is great and we always get texts/photos of our pups. Good lines of communication (Tyler always checks in on any changes with our pups diet/routine etc) gives us an extra level of comfort. We've had multiple situations with last minute changes in our travel schedule or delayed flights and PPN is always available to help us out. I'm writing this review with very mixed feelings about Professional Pet Nanny. I moved to Cincinnati in December & got a puppy. Kyle, the owner, did a great job of setting up our nanny meet & greet on a weekend, just days before I needed my first puppy visit. Jessie, our nanny, has been nothing short of fantastic since day 1! She truly loves my pup, & the feeling is mutual. As an individual, Jessie has made my experience with Professional Pet Nanny not completely terrible. I was notified by Jessie (our nanny) over a month ago that she would be leaving the company at the end of April due to her school schedule changing. She told me I would be contacted by the office to arrange to meet a new nanny. I attempted, without success, to contact the office to speak about our new nanny. My puppy is afraid of men, so I wanted to be sure we could meet our new nanny in a timely manner to feel certain my pup would like him/her. After several attempts to contact the office managers, I NEVER received a call back. I also was never contacted regarding meeting a new nanny. Without feeling like I had any other options, I cancelled all my future appointments with Professional Pet Nanny, and found another company to work with. I was contacted today by Kyle, the owner. She confessed that they never arranged for another nanny to visit my puppy. Keep in mind, our last day with our nanny Jessie is tomorrow. Kyle showed no remorse regarding the company's failure to contact me back and arrange care for my puppy. In addition, I asked our nanny to leave my apartment key with the office front desk at my apartment tomorrow (Friday), since I have a new pet sitter coming on Saturday morning. Kyle, the owner, informed me that it was their company policy to mail keys after the cancellation of services. She refused to allow my nanny to leave the key. Long story short, although our time with our current nanny Jessie has been FANTASTIC, the company has now left me in quite a pickle with no puppy care and no spare key to my apartment. read more

We initially had a great experience with Professional Pet Nanny, when Pat, one of the dog walkers, still worked there. We never had any problems, and she took amazing care of our three dogs over the years: one senior, one middle-aged, and one that she walked from the time he was 10 weeks old until he was an adult. I trusted her completely with my animals. When Pat retired, our experience completely changed. The business owner and her spouse, along with a part-time employee took over the care of our dogs. Every time I came home when the husband had visited, my geriatric dog had soiled bedding, and I had notes about how ill-behaved my younger dog was. Soon, PPN dropped us as clients without any notice, supposedly because my young dog was an intact male. The owner claimed that intact males were not trustworthy and could become aggressive towards humans. My intact dog had never had issues with people, but was a little excited by squirrels and would bark at some other dogs (something we were up-front about, has nothing to do with being intact, and that I discussed with the sitters). Before I moved to Cincinnati, I managed a pet sitting company and a kennel, and believe that my dog's behavior fell well within what an experienced professional could easily manage. I talked to both the part-time employee and our former dog walker, and both said that they'd had no problems with any of my dogs, but that this behavior from the owners, including dropping clients, was typical. We ended up finding another person to walk our dogs, and have had no issues in the past two years. To summarize, PPN's staff are excellent, but if you have to deal with the business owner, be aware that your experience will likely be very different. If you have a dog who is intact for health reasons or for breeding, has special needs, or is at all challenging to walk, you may be dropped without notice if the owner has to take over your visits. read more

Not only did she follow our instruction for care, but she also ran our dish washer and did two additional complimentary pop up visits to check in on our cat. Unnecessary but greatly appreciated. When I first found this company, I felt like it was a dream come true. Having a puppy and working full time, I definitely needed a mid day visit. I guess I should have known from the first meeting with the owner when the whole conversation was dominated by her. I'm not complaining about the girl who came several times and cared for my boy. She was great. However, after a brief interruption in service due to not needing, Kyle the owner came. I had not been crating as pup kept soiling crate. She called me after the visit and the conversation started ok then she flipped personalities or something and told me that my dog has trained me and now I have a dog that "pisses and shits in your house". Also stated "he needs to sit in his shit in the crate". She informed me that "none of my clients are doing what you are doing ". Very condescending and shaming tone. Almost as though she was saying my dog is ruined now. It's as though if you do not do what she suggest, everything is wrong. Apparently she thinks she is the dog whisperer. Overbearing and opinionated...not what I signed up for. I'm certain all of clients get good care but the professionalism needs some tweaking. read more

The really sad thing is that a week ago I would have given this company a four star review but after how I was treated today by the owner Kyle I can not tell enough people to stay away!! We have been a customer for about 2.5 years with no issue except for sometimes an uncommunicated change in our dog walker. Well yesterday I came home to a note requesting we move our dog kennel to the first floor so that the dog walker could get in and out quickly. I left a response in our notebook this morning that our dog sleeps in the crate in our bedroom at night and we didn't want too move her downstairs. I also pointed out that previously we were in a third floor apartment and stairs hadn't been an issue. Today I received a call from Kyle where she started out nicely enough saying they were no longer going to do stairs because of liability issues. When I started to ask her a few questions and ask about how much time we have to make a change she became quite unprofessional and hung up on me mid sentence. When I called her back she sent me to voice mail and then sent me a text saying they would return my key since I would not comply with their safety policy. It is hard to believe this is how a grown adult would run a business and treat a customer that uses them several times a week, every week. If you are still a customer watch out!!! read more
