There is a walk up window where you order once you come in. There is no sit down table service. We only waited for about 15 mins so the food was prepared quickly. This isn't a place you come for ambiance as the dining area was small and the bathrooms required some attention. But the FOOD.... I heard about Happy Tails Seafood from a coworker. I went there and ordered some lunch to go. I hadn't had any fish in a while so I decided to get the fried catfish platter. After I ordered I suspected that there would be a little wait. I saw other customers in the restaurant that had already ordered sitting down. For what it's worth I didn't wait too long. I'm not sure how long I waited but I would guess less than 10 minutes. It was a to go order so when I got food I went home. When I got home I tried my sides first. I ordered fried okra and an egg roll. The okra was very good. The batter it was fried in was delicious. It kinda had a Creole flavor. Now the egg roll was probably the best egg roll I've had in a while. I didn't expect to find really good egg rolls in a seafood restaurant. One more thing about the okra is they give you a whole bunch of it. I had some left over. Now the main dish was the catfish. It was cooked to perfection. Food was very good. Decent prices for the amount of seafood that you get. The special number two is the snow crab section and a pound of steamed shrimp with corned potatoes and sausage for 21.99. Got the number two special with shrimp and crab legs with the extras of potatoes, sausage and corn and got the spicy version. Hands down best seafood boil spots in mobile. Food is AMAZING... they're not stingy AT ALL ! Seafood is always fresh and served hot. The atmosphere is always amazing the staff here always greet you and super cool. The wait time is a little long but that's no problem if you call in your order. Plenty of space to wait in line to order. Several small tables and chairs to use while waiting for your order. We ordered the sweet Buffalo fried shrimp and loaded fries. The shrimp were PERFECTION!! They were lightly fried and drenched in the sweet heat buffalo sauce. They gave us a side of ranch that was the perfect way to cut the heat and add to the flavor. The loaded fries on the other hand were somewhat off for me. They were soaked in a very sweet sauce, kindof like a bbq sauce, but couldn't tell. Sweet fries aren't my thing. Have had several friends recommended this place so gave it a try. Ordered the fish and shrimp platter, ordered an egg roll and hush puppies as sides. Ok to be honest the fish wasn't my favorite, it was the texture/thickness and I should have asked what type of fish it was, so that one is on me. It was good but not what I personally like, now on to the shrimp. The shrimp were butterflied and cooked perfectly, excellent taste and texture...fresh gulf shrimp can't go wrong. The hush puppies were standard frozen hush puppies, but the egg roll, Oh My Goodness, it was outstanding, wrapped in a spring roll wrapper and fried crispy. My first and last time ordering from here. I ordered the fried shrimp plate with potato salad and fried okra. The sign sign said it was supposed to come with 2 hush puppies but I didn't get any. i tried to eat my dinner but I just couldn't. The potato salad was runny, the okra was tough and the shrimp was a little spicy for my liking. I ate most of the shrimp because I really hate to waste food but I just couldn't eat them all. I was getting nauseous with every shrimp. I was so disappointed that this wouldn't be a new food place for us to start going to. Guess we'll have to stick with Foosackly's. read more

This place was a last minute attempt to find seafood for my mom during the Quarantine. SO GLAD I STOPPED!!! Everything was amazing and piping hot!!! Fish platter was more than generous...the $18 Happy Tails platter was even better and would rival a $25 seafood platter anywhere...the shrimp po-boy was just as generous. If I could give zero stars I would. I bought $60 worth of crawfish for our New Year's party and they were inedible. They were so spicy that you couldn't swallow them and we like ours spicy! No human could eat these and on top of that, they were soft. We tried to take them back for a credit but they refused. This place will not be in business long. By far, the worst ever!
