Was actively shopping for a new Jazz Bass and found a very nice model from a brand I was unfamiliar with. After I dusted it off, tuned it, and actually found an Amp that wasn't defective to demo it, the grouchy owners basically chased me out of their store because they wanted to make a phone call to complain to their landlord about some construction going on outside. They were mad that the construction might scare away business; Meanwhile, they were doing just fine chasing away their own business. Oh, the irony! I greatly prefer to shop local for my music gear rather than use big box retailers, so I went to Happy Tunes to get the pedal I'd been searching for. I was initially put off by the need to advertise political affiliations in the window of the store, but put that aside and gave the shop a try anyway. I was blown away by how rude and dismissive the staff member was. I stood by the counter waiting for several minutes before I was even acknowledged. I can appreciate that it can take time to service everyone with limited staff, but the staff member seemed like it was inconvenient to even have me there. I wound up down at Replay in Tampa and it was worth the drive for better service and selection. read more

It is the closest music store when my child entered band class back in the fall of 2019. From the first encounter in renting an instrument to even following up with a few questions, the owners remain rude, unpleasant, and unhelpful. I will find another store to meet my son's instrument needs and never refer anyone to this store. I think it is time they retire from this business and rest up. Maybe then they will both be in a better mood and be able to come back to a business where you should be happy to have customers and treat them with respect and kindness. read more

My wife ordered a super cheap mandolin on Amazon and decided that she needed an electronic tuner to tune it. Since Happy Tunes was close by, we stopped in to see how they could help. Happy Tunes looks like the kind of place that has been in business for years (probably because it has). While, for the most part, things are arranged in a logical manner (or at least we I assume to be logical), the shop isn't as sterile and well kept as some of your corporate music stores. It has a more homely, old school barber shop feel. When we arrived the owners were talking to a man who was sitting around jamming on a guitar. I assumed he also worked there. Turns out he was just a customer. The way he made himself at home and just played around on an instrument is a testament to the atmosphere that the owners have created here. The husband and wife duo quickly took to us, with him cracking on my wife for buying such a cheap instrument and telling stories about putting together drum kits while she helped us decide which tuner was right for our needs and gave us an introductory course on how the tuner worked. She even let us try it out on one of the mandolins they had for sale. The prices at Happy Tunes were not as outrageous as I imagined. At least they aren't on the mandolins. While Happy Tunes isn't Amazon with their prices, they aren't too far off. Throw in the fact that shopping there gets you some good conversation, hands on instructions in a laid back atmosphere and those extra few dollars seem completely worth it. read more

The customer service is horrible. I went into the store today and I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the fucking owners to finish their milkshakes and get off the phone. I had to go into where they were relaxing and tell them that I need help. The staff is rude, cocky, and all around terrible. If it was my choice, I would have them shut down. They are some of the rudest store owners/staff I have ever come across. I can not emphasize enough about how rude they are. One of the owners walked right into me completely unaware that I was walking in front of her. Another one of the owners looked at my amp and pulled a price out of his ass when I asked if there was a fee to look at it. Even though I have him the parts and told him what was wrong. I contacted other stores prior to this and they wouldn't charge me to look at it because I have told EVERY STORE I CALLED what was wrong, and I even have the parts to fix it. Which I provided for the assholes at this abomination of a store. Every time I have gone into this store there has been a bad experience. Each time I give them the benefit of the doubt. I have gone into that store 3 times. The last time I will be going in there is to get my amp back from them. It is taking them two days to look at it, when like I said before, I told them what was wrong with it. They appear to not care at all about anybody who walks into this store. I tried to like the store since it is the only place in the area to get parts and supplies for my children in band. Unfortunately the old cratchety owners have forced me to look elsewhere and order from amazon.com. I have spent hundreds of dollars in their store since moving here last August and they are not only rude but they are ignorant and inept regarding their products they are selling. On one occasion my husband picked up a guitar that had a broken bridge and try to show it to them and they merely put it back on the Shelf to sell knowing that it was broken. The lady owner is not knowledgeable about anything they sell, had difficulty operating the credit card machine, never gives me the 10% discount for the children being in school for band at the husband gives. I kept returning here because it was close to my home and the only store that I knew of in the area that sells parts for instruments. I have never found her friendly, but I continue to go there. Last week was the last time. I went in there to get Reeds for my son and to get a flute pad saver for my daughter and they had nothing but bad things to say about brass and Woodwinds where I get my children's instruments tuned up and fixed. I thought it was completely unprofessional for them to talk poorly about another company in my presence. Brass and Woodwinds was very accommodating and fixed multiple instruments for me when we were in a bind and in a very timely manner of one day or two. The lady then talked down to me because I didn't want to give her my daughters flute to send to their rental company to repair in St Petes. I explained to her that my daughter had a competition within less than a week and they told me it would take a minimum of a week to get it fixed. When I said that wouldn't work they got Snappy with me. I will never step foot in their store to buy anything else and they have lost a customer who spent hundreds of dollars a year. She either needs to get some Prozac or get out of the business. He is friendly but he is incapable of getting up and fitting behind the counter because of his size. I think it's time they sell the store or retire because they simply don't care about their customers and treating them rudely and condescendingly is not how I want to spend my money. read more

YOU MUST CHECK PRIZE OF THE ITEM ONLINE ... because whatever item they got .. they kept it as it with old prizes ... things gets older and prizes get reduces... so request to check item online before buy from the shop. I bought one item which costed me for 279 however when searched that item online ... it was only for 174 ... I talked them and i got response that whatever is sale it is final sale and they take return... in this scenario .. I would blame myself definitely ... because I did not check item online and trusted the cost will up to market currently going on ..which was not case in my scenario. We have been taking my boys to happy tunes music for about four months now. I work nights so I couldn't go to most of the lessons but the couple times I would get to go with I would leave saying I really don't like the way Marsha is with my 6 year old. I felt she was harsh with him but my husband said she was fine. Well this past week during a piano lesson my 6 year old put his head on the piano and she didn't like it so she pulled him up by his hair. We will never take our children back to happy tunes music. I just wonder what she could have done while my husband was checking on my oldest. Keep your children safe. Don't go there ever. I wish I could have given less then 1 star. read more

I was so excited to be able to rent my child's band instrument in Lutz rather than driving to Brandon. The rental went fine but when I returned the instrument I was told I didn't need to wait around for them to contact Veritas and tell them it was returned. Thankfully I kept my contract and return slip. 2 weeks after the instrument was returned another monthly charge was billed to my credit card. I promptly called Happy Tunes to inquire and was told they would look into it and call me back. A week later when I still hadn't heard from them I called Happy Tunes again. Once again I was told they would look into it and call me back. Several days have gone by so I called Veritas directly to inquire and was told they were never notified of the return. Veritas said they would call Happy Tunes and confirm the return. I told the customer service representative my story and asked him to call me if there were any problems. read more
