The pasta was not cooked to al dente, closer to underdone. The salmon was good and so was the risotto. The Osso Bucco was tough and hard to eat. Oddly the meat was falling off the bone but the meat was still tough. The meatloaf was horrible, worst meal I have had in years. The waitress was wise enough to not ask how the meal was. She did not inquire why I didn't want a box for my uneaten meal. The greens that came with the meatloaf were undercooked. The masked potatoes were delicious. My conclusion is that the food is inconsistent and the failure of the waitress to ask how things were or anything reflects that she has wisely learned not to ask. Again, she was great.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.
