Stopped here looking for good Chinese food. The rating was ok so we gave it a shot. We sat in the restaurant but really it's meant to be a takeout only place. Some things they could improve on: 1. Cleanliness and clutter. They still have the plastic sheeting up from Covid days. 2. No A/C. 3. Food was served in plastic to-go bowls. 4. No bathroom and no water. Stopped in for some take out tonight... didn't want to head out to late after the snow. When I picked up my food and got home I was missing two spring rolls... Called them back and let them know... instead of an apology I was told that they were in the bag...I said no they were not. Then she read back my phone number and again insisted they were in the bag...which I once again said they were not!! I told them I would be back to pick them up...I did and instead of an apology I watched the girl set them off to the side...not a word!! Wow!! That was the main reason I used to love to get them from my work, and I enjoy their food and their prices are good and they deliver. They also had some great deals for lunch if you were ordering before 3 o'clock if you wanted to spend less money and they had very good amount of food, you could always have leftovers for another meal. read more

This is the WORST Chinese Restaurant. Got fried rice with vegetables and moo shu pork. Thankfully I asked for two pancakes and extra plum. The pancakes were so stuck couldn't do half of them. The moo shu was all oil, almost no pork, but lots of lettuce. The fried rice were not fried. They were white rice, a little of carrots, and MORE lettuce. I guess they had extra lettuce today as that was pretty it. For $20 for greasy moo shu with a small rice (put it right into the garbage, not even my dog) were again. They must be a new chef or owner as I have them before but again, never before. read more

I love this place, the food they make, and the family that works there. We have ordered from them hundreds of times at this point. Usually, we get some combination of sweet and sour chicken, boneless pork spare ribs, Singapore noodles, cold sesame noodles, pan fried pork dumplings, wonton or hot and soup, chicken wings, beef sticks, and, well, whatever else we feel like. It's always a pleasure to stop by and say hello. On nights that are too busy for me, I'm grateful for their speedy and efficient delivery! read more

We order "cheap Chinese" take out food from here about once a month when we are pressed for time or it's too late to start cooking dinner. The food is passable but inconsistent in that depending who is cooking will affect how spicy the food is. Generally the food is pretty sleepy but we have tried so many places within a 3 mile radius and have found nothing better except the place in Media but it is also expensive and not a quick event. Typically we order from an abbreviated list of the fried dumplings, Kung pao chicken, the General Tso's chicken, chicken with broccoli, moo shoo pork, house fried rice, roast pork lo mein and egg foo young. Don't order delivery. They underestimate the time significantly. The youthful voice on the phone gets the order right every time but has a rude edge. read more

First time for us here. The service is not good, in fact they are very rude. They are not "happy". We ordered a general tsos combination platter and a shrimp wonton soup. Since we didn't want pork egg roll and pork fried rice, we asked if we could get veggie spring roll (which was the same price as the egg roll), and veggie fried rice (which consisted was more or less lettuce greens instead of veggies). They charged us extra for both items to NOT include the pork. The general tsos was not bad, but the shrimp wontons in the soup were undercooked with raw dough. The flavor was so so...nothing to write home about... All in all, we did not enjoy the food nor were we pleased with their rudeness, so, we will not be going back. read more

The Chinese take-out place by my house is horrible. Happy Wok is the Yin to Wong's Yang (meaning, it's wonderful). This establishment has a few tables, but does most of its business in take-out. The staff is friendly, the menu is great, and the food is delicious (the orange chicken on the perfect spot of the crispy spectrum, and the dipping sauce for the dumplings is amazing). It's really quite a find, and I'll never go back to Wong's again. read more

I'll admit that the only reason I came here was that it was close to my favorite spot, Cheng Hing, who on this night didn't answer the phone and I felt compelled to investigate. I almost cried when I saw the place darkened with a "For Lease" sign up. It really was the best place around with some unique choices. But I digress, Hings loss is Woks gain. I've had a hard time finding a spot my whole family likes in the Ridley Area. Often a place will do one staple right but fail at another. For me, one of the nonnegotiable things are dumplings. I like the smaller, more doughy ones as opposed to the thin half moon ones. I was relieved to see Happy Wok does them my way. Not perfect, but very good. Everything else was decent. My daughter is a recent vegetarian and there were some decent options. One of the draws of Cheng Hing was their Udon soup with mushrooms. Is really like to see more soup options like this for vegetarians. Something with noodles. We ordered the vegetable and tofu soup and they didn't seem to like it. That said, for now, Happy Wok will be our place, but I'll still search out the perfect place for us. read more

Happy Wok is the best non-elegant (non Da Shin) Chinese I've had in Delco and better compared to other Chinese joints in the area. I'm pretty sure I've said it before but it really grosses me out when Chinese places load up on the sauce. For me Happy Wok scores major points for not drowning their food. I've eaten lunch in the restaurant in a pinch but it's best to just do take-out. My favorite from here is the General Tso's combo which is around (I don't have a menu on hand) $5 for lunch and $8 for dinner which is par for the course for Chinese places. read more

Pretty standard Chinese food. I used to go here before I found China Moon in Morton. Nice enough staff, located near the amazing 320 Market. I used to go here at times as I preferred their Sesame chicken. If you're a Swarthmore College student you've likely been here already. If you're not...well, you probably haven't. I've been eating at Happy Wok for about a year(since I moved to Morton) the food is just ok. Definitely not bad but not great either. The one thing I absolutely love about Happy Wok is their speed of delivery. Without fail it is to me within 20 minutes and on occasion I have gotten it under 15 minutes(even on a Friday night!!!). The other great thing is the delivery guy is the nicest happiest delivery guy ever!!!! My staple order is the Roast Pork w/Chinese Vegetables, pretty good but not great. Along with either wonton soup or pan fried pork dumplings. For a reliably decent meal I would absolutely recommend Happy Wok but if you have time I would go to Media. read more

I am fortunate to have Happy Wok as my local spot. The food is always exceptional. At this point I've tried most of the menu with very few disappointments. Service is always fast and friendly. Highlights: WINGS! Cashew Chicken, Dumplings, Singapore Mei Fun, Beef w/ String Beans, Happy Family, Veggie/Tofu dishes, about 90% of the menu. Lowlights: I think its just that I'm not a fan of this particular style of cuisine, but any seafood in white sauce has not been very good here. We ordered tonight from Happy Wok. The food was terrible. Sesame chicken was so dry it was like sawdust.. There was exactly 2 pieces of broccoli. Rice was completely undercooked. It was so bad that I call them on it; The lady actually argued with me about the rice saying it was cooked and I didn't know what I was talking about. Then hung up the phone. *Disclaimer* I ate the General Tso's, so any remarks on food should be taken with that in mind. I've trying out Chinese places in the area in search of a good, inexpensive General Tso's Chicken meal. After searching online, this place received some pretty decent reviews and I decided to try it out. First thing is that the meal was made quick. I ordered for pick up and arrived about 10 minutes later and my food was waiting for me. The person at the counter was nice and seemed genuinely friendly. Happy workers is always a good sign. I ended up paying about 17 bucks for a large GTC with rice, a small wonton soup and a small chicken and broccoli. That's not really all that bad I suppose, but a small really is small. My large was at least twice the size of my friends order. When it came to the food, I was a little bit disappointed. The chicken seemed too...battery? Or whatever it is they cover the chicken in. It was a bit crunchy on the outside, but mushy batter on the inside with some okay chicken. The sauce had an okay balance of both sweet and tangy, but it's nothing abnormally great. The broccoli was limp and didn't taste all that fresh. My friend said she enjoyed her chicken, so maybe their GT just isn't that great. Overall, it's okay. I'd recommend it if someone wanted something fast and cheap, but not if they were going to get the General Tso's. read more

Our favorite local takeout place. The prices are fair for the portions. Egg rolls are always under cooked. The only reason I give this 3 instead of 4 is because they re-did the interior and so we wanted to go sit down and eat, but we didn't realize that they didn't wait on you. It's really just buy your food and grab a seat! Lol so we are still looking for a good little chinese food restaurant to eat in from the area where we can sit, order, get served some tea...ect...but for now we just order their take out! read more
