On a Friday a week ago I contacted Happyhandyman. I was asked to send photos of the project for the "office" to provide a quote on the job. Sent the photos right away -- in fact I ultimately sent photos for more than one project -- but did not hear back Monday. Figured the weekend got in the way, and followed up again via text. Rommel said he wanted to come out to scope out the project. The appointment was set for Friday. He never showed up. He never called to cancel, either. When contacted, he said he had a family emergency. If this is true, our sincere condolences. To Rommel's credit after being contacted to see what had happened, he offered to refer us to someone else. But not knowing who that person is, our phone number ends up out there with no way to look up their reputation, not to mention that some calls from "unknown numbers" end up silenced :-( I literally just spent my entire summer going in circles with a variety of projects from deck repair to fencing with nothing to show for it. (If someone had told us when we became homeowners that it would be a full time job to find help, I never would have believed them.) I try to look on the bright side: "Bidenomics" must be working out really well for so many businesses of this type to pass up so much work and still pay the bills. read more

I found Happy Handy Man & Rommel, after trying Angie's List TWICE! I needed a shed I had purchased assembled. Being new to the area I decided to go with Angie's List since they had "background check" all of their brokered out servicemen. The first guy Angie's List tried to send over called said he was running 30 minutes late (no big deal) 30 minutes turned into never coming over despite calling the tech and kept getting 30 more mins 30 more mins 45 minutes and NEVER showed.
