I hired Don, the owner of A1, to help with a long list of upgrades, repairs, and installations throughout an older home, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. What began as a detailed work list quickly became a full-home improvement effort covering almost every area of the house: bedrooms, closets, kitchen, exterior work, fixtures, faucets, appliance installations, plumbing, toilets, concrete repair, masonry, and more. Don worked on the property for over a week, and every day we coordinated schedules to make the best use of the time available. I also gave him the green light to identify and address anything beyond the original list that could affect the home inspection. That turned out to be extremely valuable. Don identified several electrical and plumbing issues that needed to be upgraded to comply with code, explained them clearly, and we added them to the scope of work. One of the things I appreciated most was Don's ability to solve problems creatively. Older homes always come with surprises, and on several occasions, we had to figure out alternative ways to get things done. Don never approached those challenges with frustration. He thinks outside the box, looks for practical solutions, and clearly takes pride in helping people fix real problems. He also brings a level of experience that is rare to find.
