It seemed like a sort of active town little with all the needs such as little markets, offices and a few restaurants. There are a few things to do in town - Godola tours as well as looking at ships and a preserved sea farers dock. An "Audio brewery" that features audio vinyl's to be listened to and learned about, nearby trails, boat rentals and more should you really be looking to spend time in the area. There is history in Gig harbor - There is the Gig Harbor Boat Shop where I suppose you can get your boat needs and info if you're on the water with your person vessel. Wilkinson Farm Park which features a historic barn with trails nearby and Historic Net sheds which has among large boat nets for catching fish and other aquatic things, lots of preserved boat tools and essentials for fisherman who resided in the area. Gig Harbor is a nice little stop and likely a cool place to live if you're about the Maritime life.

The Olympia Host Lion's Club and the Corbin Low Vision Center were amazing! My 93-year-old mother…read morerecently had a drastic loss of vision due to macular bleeds. She lost all sight in one eye, and the other was significantly reduced making it impossible for her to comfortably read. For someone who loves to read, this change for her was devastating and resulted in some serious depression. Mom had a legally blind friend who used a magnification reader, and she asked me to look into getting her one. I did some research into low vision magnification devices, but the high cost was way too high for someone on Medicaid. She was really disheartened when she learned how very expensive they are. Although I was not really expecting to find anything, I went to Google to see if there were any resources that might provide an affordable opportunity for a senior citizen to access what she needed. I found a link to the Corbin Center and reached out through their online contact form. They reached back out to me the same day. The Corbin Center was able to loan my mother a modern Divinci low vision reader free of charge! She can read again, improving both her quality of life and her state of mind. We are so grateful to the Lions and the service they provide. For my mom, it has made all the difference in the world!

I don't believe a child has ever been stolen, wow. The staff is loving, caring and professional at all times. The care that children get here far surpasses anywhere else. This is an establishment that goes above and beyond on a daily basis, not only do they make sure that every child is in excellent care, they go beyond expectations when it comes down to giving back to and being a strong pillar of support in the community. This is not a corporate type for profit center, you know the franchise names- this is a family owned and ran center. Their hearts and hands go into making this an excellent choice for anyone considering or needing excellent quality care for their children. I went with the caffenated Chai while Steve went with a decaf Chai. Both tasted very different from each other. I really liked mine as it had a great flavor profile filled with all kinds of spices which I love experiencing with a well made Chai. Lots of other options to explore on teas so well worth returning and trying them out. Once the entire family met up, we climbed back into the car and headed to Bellevue. Not sur if it was due to the time. But we were surprised there was a lot of parking available. We spent a good 2-hrs here which included getting lost and finding other street entries into the botanical park from a school and from other busy street corner at the bottom of the park. Nice and shaded, quiet little creeks, plenty of seating for those that were inspired to journal, plenty of elderly people using this time to exercise and stretch. We enjoyed the different areas like the swinging bridge, the Japanese garden and even the little cafe they have there. Fairly priced items and plenty of tables to enjoy a refreshment and snack. By the time we were done, the gift shop was already closed. So I took the opportunity to drop a donation into the box instead.

No trouble with parking, and it is free to enter, so you really should stop by if you are nearby. It's worth it.
