Called on 12/29 to make an apt after not being able to do so online and waited 1hr on the phone…read morejust for someone to finnaly answer and then hang up on me as soon as they got on the line I called back again and waited an hour and ten minutes just for the lady to be snappy and rude for just answering basic questions ( that's her job) and then asked me to call back when I had all the necessary information to call back (which I totally understand) Called back a third time with all the necessary information ( an hour and a half wait) only then for another lady to answer and when she asked why I wanted an apt the lady told me that I should refer to their website and when I said I looked wasn't able to find the answer she said she would be able to explain it to be over the phone rather than giving me an appt and when I mentioned I rather to be able to do it in person as there would be questions with the entire application process she said she would not be able to schedule me and apt and then hung the phone up on me! I really don't ever take the time to write reviews but this got my blood boiling. I am sure I will be able to find the answers and get outside help to make sure benefits are filed properly but it's unacceptable that you can't easily make an apt online and then have the workers refusing to give people the help they need. Let alone the poor attitude from everyone helping today, you could feel the hate for their job through the phone .

The social security administration has no phone number to call. When you walk into the building there is a very nice guard who tells you that you can take a number and then he powers down. Like, "Yea, sure, you can live here until we close." Right on brand, very cold, kindless place. The DMV isn't too bad anymore, maybe this place could rebrand like that too.

I show up with my brother who needed a walk in and couldn't get an appointment until the 28th of July, the lady assisting the arrivals proceeded to say that they don't allow walk ins anymore. This was clearly odd seeing as I was here just 2 days ago and they had a very long line of walk in customers. I was called a liar by the lady and this could have been avoided by simply saying she didn't know anything about that but to call me liar just because she works there all day and didn't know I was in a walk in line for 30 min that week is rude and unprofessional. Also they no longer do drivers test here only at Lakewood. I recommend going to a drivers school for your testing as to avoid being booked out a month or more.

It's been a while since I have had to renew my driver's license and as that amount of time has…read morepassed since my last renewal quite a few licensing offices have closed around Tacoma which makes the remaining ones considerably more challenging to navigate. What I mean by this is in reference to this specific location is that parking can be quite a challenge to this small parking lot for the visitor section and a line of people waiting is accumulates extremely fast and as a result the longer the line grows the slower it's going to be. So making an appointment is the way to go here. Definitely plan a considerable amount of time ahead to get to this location in case you make a wrong turn as well as waiting to find a parking place...because you are bound to have to sit in your car until a space opens up...but the best way to avoid all that in addition to the appointment is take the first time slots that are available when you make an appointment online. Depending on the day it's like 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. If you go with the earlier option that's the best because there are already a bunch of people sitting in the lobby ready to start the line. So key things here....1) make an appointment...2) take the earliest time slot (9 a.m. if you can) which will give you a greater likelihood of meeting your appointment and getting your car parked with relative ease. For those who made an appointment the line is much smaller upon opening and if you check in you will get a confirmation number in which it will be called upon. Once you go up to a representative for me at least the process itself was fast. They confirm your residential address, make sure height and weight are accurate, get your picture taken and if need be you take an eye exam...typical stuff as usual with the renewal process there. You get the choice if you want to renew your license for six or eight years. I went with the eight year option as our lives are busy enough and the longer we can have a license and reduce the frequency of the renewal licensing process the better. Once all the usual information and process was done...which was very smooth and efficient it took only about seven minutes for the renewal itself if you don't count the time of waiting for the doors to open to the department (it took an hour from start to finish from leaving home and getting back to home). Another aside at this office is if you are in for a wait and need the restroom you will need a code. Maybe you can get in if someone else enters the code but if not you will need to probably get it from the receptionist.

Bathrooms and interior can use an upgrade, seemed like it could use an good cleaning in the building, but it's run by government so don't expect any changes but a nice color of fresh paint and decent designed peel stick flooring could make a huge difference. (shouldn't be over the top pricey..i j s). That parking..OH EM GEE.....that was ridiculous. You can ride around and around until someone comes out of the building then be on top of them like white on rice to get their parking space when they leave. I did however find out you can park out on the street which only had 2 cars parked there. Plenty of room for lot's of cars and it's not much farther to walk if you are able..plus you won't get any door dings.

This isn't just a one-time issue -- it's been like this every time I've come in. The office feels disorganized and inefficient. The check-in and calling system clearly needs improvement, whether that's better staff coordination or updated computer systems. People coming here are usually dealing with important, time-sensitive needs, and the current setup wastes a lot of their time. As I got over to the right lane to make a right hand turn on a yellow light - car next to me went through the yellow light too only he went straight and I turned right. I got a ticket in the mail for running a red light so I go to review my dashcam, go through it and sure enough, I went through two yellow lights, even the ticket shows a yellow lights. BUT, after researching it further, evidently. there was a red light "arrow" over on the sidewalk for this specific lane. 1. I was looking up at the two lights above that were TURNING yellow at the time I made the right hand turn, always look to verify no one was coming from the left or across the way. 2. Why on earth would the light on the sidewalk be red BEFORE the other two lights above? 3. Why would all three lights not be in sync? 4. Why is there no signs alerting drivers to a THIRD light for the right hand lane is on the the SIDEWALK and that you have cameras on that specific lane....seems like a set up. I am 55 years old and have a flawless, and I mean flawless driving record, and I sincerely believe I was innocent as I made a legal right hand turn on a yellow light. It's beyond me, why there is a need to have a third light off to the side on the SIDEWALK that would be red BEFORE the other lights turn red (NOTE: THIS LIGHT is much lower that the other two lights) This was unfair to have to pay $124.00 for taking a right hand turn on a two yellow lights. AGAIN, two out of three lights were yellow. NO REASON FOR THE TURN LANE TO BE RED BEFORE THE OTHER LIGHTS TURNED RED. This was their response...."I agree, the lights for the straight ahead traffic were amber at the time you made your turn, however the light controlling your lane was red. Also, I reviewed many "3 light set-ups" like this in my town of Vancouver WA and they are ALL in sync, I can't find even one sidewalk light that is RED before the other two turn red. Many sidewalk lights or right lane lights are green while the other two are red but never red before the other two turn red. To me...this three light setup is DECEPTIVE and it going to get unsuspecting drivers every time. BUT, this is REVENUE for the City of Puyallup.

Here is something new. A courthouse with huge colorful Chihuly glass art decoration hanging from…read morethe ceiling right in the middle. How cool is that! First of all, the ancient building itself is quite a masterpiece. I love the big Rome style round roof with beautiful decorations. The rustic red brick and green sculptures reminds you of those old ages. Its old name 'UNION STATION' is still painted at one side of the building reminding people of its old glorious days. The first thing draw your eyes is the huge glass art piece hanging from the ceiling in the center. You can always a Chihuly piece from others by its distinctive beautiful colors and Medusa hair shape. Usually you expected to see one in fancy mall, hotel or museum, but not in a federal court house. You got to admit it sure added some color to this place. And at the second floor there is another Chihuly art piece, lots of color as well, and kind of like herd of tadpoles swimming in a pond. Downstairs is the cafeteria, restroom and some historical exhibitions. The soda machine here is quite cheap, only 50 cents for a can. Over the window you can see the glass museum cross the highway. Please note that bring your Id when visiting the place, because the guard will check it. It's a federal courthouse after all.

There was a Day of the Dead festival being held here that we saw from flyers around town. We swung by for a quick visit. We were very impressed with the community center with the walking track, swimming pool, conference rooms and other areas for kids to play such as video games and slides. As for the festival itself it was really cool and a fun cultural experience to have this time of the year. Lunch was served and there were dances and performances to honor the concept of the holiday. Fun first time experience at this community center!
