There was a Day of the Dead festival being held here that we saw from flyers around town. We swung by for a quick visit. We were very impressed with the community center with the walking track, swimming pool, conference rooms and other areas for kids to play such as video games and slides. As for the festival itself it was really cool and a fun cultural experience to have this time of the year. Lunch was served and there were dances and performances to honor the concept of the holiday. We carpooled to the location and arrived early, which was a surprise as traffic coming from the north of Seattle had been clear. The parking lot was large and partially full, but we still found a space without having to circle for a spot to open up. We explored a little bit of the nearby Seeley Lake Park while waiting since we had arrived early. Facilities we used for our activities were nice. Re-visiting yesterday Wednesday 2 August 2023, the parking lot was still large and the building approximately the same on the exterior.

I went with the caffenated Chai while Steve went with a decaf Chai. Both tasted very different from each other. I really liked mine as it had a great flavor profile filled with all kinds of spices which I love experiencing with a well made Chai. Lots of other options to explore on teas so well worth returning and trying them out. There is an extensive senior program, a variety of classes for all ages, a gym and plenty of services. I love going to the toddler gym which starting in September runs Mon, Wed, and Fri and costs $2 for the first child and $1 for each additional child. There are several age appropriate play structures outside in their beautifully kept grounds. And to top it all off, a stunning botanical garden that is open to the public including wedding rentals and has a fantastic fund raising garden show and plant sale in August (this year featured Cisco Morris!) . This is just such a find and is worth the drive because it's just such a great community center.

Pickleball is one of mine and my husbands favorite things to do on a nice day! But sometimes…read morefinding a nice, free Pickleball court can be a challenge. This one however, was just about what we were looking for. Multiple Pickleball, and Tennis courts available to the public. The only issue would be that they are a bit run down. Great new nets, but the courts paint job and cement could definitely use some TLC. The parking is safe, and there is plenty of it, and the location is really quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back often to play one of our favorite sports.
