This being said, I was totally amazed to find a wine store of this quality on a peninsula where most wine is sold in mom-and-pop liquor stores that specialize in hard liquor and stock a few wine bottles with cute animals on the labels only for the occasional misguided soul who hasn't yet converted to Buffalo Trace. The Rockaway Park Liquor & Wine Warehouse about 1.5 miles away is a serious competitor to Ship to Shore, but the Warehouse has more labels with cute animals than I could tolerate and also had long lines for the cash registers when I visited.
