Taking the ferry to Centre Island is affordable and quick. It was only $9.00 CAD for round trip tickets, and there were 3 points of entry: Centre Island, Ward's Island and Hanlan's Point. We chose to take the Centre Island ferry on a Friday morning. It was very packed but the loading and unloading of passengers was efficient, so things seemed to move pretty quickly. One of the first things you notice about the island are all the bike paths. There are ample opportunities to rent bikes for the day, and we saw many people taking advantage of that. But, if renting bikes isn't on your list, there are plenty of other activities that are totally free. There was also an old lighthouse and a hedge maze to explore. There are also boardwalks leading out to Lake Ontario's coastline where you can get some amazing views into the seemingly endless lake or the Toronto skyline. There were some dining options like pizza or beaver tails, but we opted to skip the food options and have lunch on the mainland. One thing I would note is while we didn't see any personally; a fellow pedestrian jumped when he said he saw a snake in the grass, so if you stray from the paved paths, I would keep an eye out for that. We walked all the way to Hanlan's Point and took the ferry back from that point to the main terminal. It was quick and easy, and made for a fun little morning adventure. What a fantastic resource to have a nice grouping of islands where nature can be experienced right by the water. I loved my trip to Centre Island and to a greater extent, Toronto Island Park. It's definitely worth the visit to get out of the city and indulge in more nature-centric activities.

They have a large selection of both kayaks, one person and two person sizes as well as stand up paddle boards (SUP). And of course there is Cherry Beach, Toronto's hidden gem of a beach that many don't even know is there. We had so much fun this summer in the area on bicycles, exploring the new park nearby and ending up both times at Cherry St BBQ, yummmmmmmm. So with all that positivity in the area, how can you go wrong? Well, we did both times we wanted to go, and for some reason it didn't work out. The second time it was closed for the season, even though the weather was holding out I supposed they had to draw a line. You could even bring your own craft and launch it at the beach right there and bring along friends that need to rent theirs so there is plenty of flexibility. Bring along the BBQ and have a party on the lawns nearby too. There is plenty of parking so you can bring anything by car and have good access to the beach. Highly recommended!!

Everything was very efficiently ran with great customer service - from booking online and finding the location (they have a tent labelled "Parasail Ontario" right by the dock near the lighthouse at Port Credit), to getting outfitted with the PFD lifejackets, getting on the boat, and the whole experience. The person manning the tent and helping with check-ins was super friendly and helpful. You can choose to leave your shoes or sandals on the dock or boat when you do the parasailing (depending on whether you opt for the "dip toes in the water" experience). Don't carry a large backpack or anything big on the boat, as there isn't a lot of space. Everything was on time and on the dot - so be sure to get there at least 15 minutes early to check in, sign waivers, put on PFDs, and get briefing. There were 9 passengers on the boat, and we took turns doing the parasailing (about 10 minutes for each group of 2 or 3). 2 staff were on board - 1 person to steer the boat as captain, and 1 person to help the passengers get outfitted with harness, work the rope, etc. I loved the upbeat hip-hop music on the boat. We felt very secure and stable while up there... very relaxing and you can have conversations (didn't feel or sound too windy). Great view of the surrounding water and city from up above. If you purchase the video package, you get to hold a GoPro in a waterproof case and mounted on a selfie stick for the duration of your parasail adventure. Then they give you the Micro SD card and an adapter to take home. I totally recommend this adventure experience 100%!

This might sound like an odd take since it's quite normal in Ontario, but being from BC originally, I can tell you that it was quite surprising (for here, and all other paid conservation parks). It's frustrating that the nicest park in the city - by far, which also has it's only natural lake, is gated and requires an entrance fee. I'll still give it 5 stars since it's part of a norm for the entire province, so I can't really hold that against it. I'll also have to admit that having a fee has perks which become apparent - namely: much cleaner, high staffing ratio (which helps cleanliness), no overcrowding, well maintained and even the configuration. It's similar to hating the cost of the 407 but having to admit you also love being able to cross the GTA in half the time. Heart Lake itself is a nice lake, and as mentioned the only natural lake in Brampton and probably one of the largest for quite some distance around it. Even without having visited, you may have seen it without realizing it since it was used in the movie Tommy Boy years ago (when Chris Farley is sailing and being taunted by kids). There is fishing, various types of boating, which now also includes boating at night with clear boasts that have bright neon lights around them. There are trails to walk along it too, but sadly not to go around it since city planners in their infinite wisdom years ago allowed a handful of houses to back onto the lake. There's also a some cross country trails in the wooded area for that type of running and cycling. The treetop trekking here is fantastic, but a completely different fee and business listing. But worth noting it is located here. There's an insane amount of picnicking spots. A perk with it being paid entry is that you're very likely to find a table and they even offer spots for charcoal disposal. They do offer being able rent out large spots for very big gatherings as well. They have a big splash pad and a nice large outdoor pool which has proper rope separation between shallow and deep ends. Again, the pool is quite large, so even on a busy hot Saturday in July, there was reasonable room in the shallow end - but considerably more space in the deep end. There is another fee for swimming, but it's quite reasonable. Good lifeguard ratio as well. So you've got to 'pay to play', but I also can't say there isn't value for the money. I'd highly recommend looking at an annual pass (family pass especially) which probably pays for itself within 2-3 visits here, or to any of the other TRCA conservation areas. I believe Brampton library does offer the ability to borrow a pass, but you'd want to plan ahead as I wouldn't be surprised there's holds for it.

If I'm not mistaken, the job of a customer service person is to provide information. I phoned because I wanted to speak to a real, live person who could add up the costs for me. After going to their website and phoning again, I got amelia again. Upon realizing it was me she angrily transferred me to another woman who at least was friendlier but still had to be coached to give an exact, everything included price for the summer (she kept giving me the individual fee amounts which is useless to me, I need a final figure) and when I gave up she said at the very end of the conversation "make sure we are the right place for you," passive-aggressively and in a snotty tone. Pretty sure I knew it wasn't before that moment. Bottom line is- membership could be a positive experience but because the customer service and attitude towards younger customers is so poor I wouldn't bother.

We went as a group of 6 to Treetop Trekking Stouffville for a friend's birthday and did the 3 hour…read moreexperience. 4 of us took a Lyft from downtown Toronto and it cost around $60 after tipping, which wasn't too expensive after we split it. We arrived in the morning with all the little kids and their parents on a Saturday and it was raining. But the park didn't close and it was actually not that bad in the actual trees. However, we did get very wet and some of the wooden obstacles were quite slippery. I would definitely recommend wearing the right clothes! Wearing grippy running shoes helped get through the obstacle course - even in the rain. And the long pants and long sleeve hiking jacket kept me from getting rope burns. It was overall a good time and would definitely recommend it to other people. The only thing is, we were only able to get through 4/6 courses with a short break in between because we were a bit more cautious than other groups. It took us 4 hours so we ended up getting kicked out in the end because it was only supposed to take 3 hours. I wish they had let us stay a bit longer. 6 courses in 3 hours would only be possible for people who are already quite athletic I think. Otherwise staff were friendly, the orientation at the beginning was helpful, and the snacks are a really good price. I think it was less than $3 for a mini can of Pringles or a small bag of chip nuts. There's also water and popsicles available too. Washrooms weren't the cleanest but I wouldn't expect them to be in an outdoorsy place like this.

The team from the orientation and sizing of the suits to the walk leader Stephen were to best in class. They are supportive and amiable, not to mention patient. They know your names, relative skill and fear level within 30 seconds more or less. They ensure your safety and comfort in a friendly and amicable manner. The views of T. At night are the most pectacular I've ever seen, and hanging several 100 feet off the ground was well worth the $195 plus tax. Don't forget you also get a ticket for the elevator and Skype, witha coffee or hot chocolate which we used right after. That alone is worth an additional $55. I went up by myself while my guest waited below. I will say everything is VERY WELL EXPLAINED. You feel extremely safe and are secured by two harnesses. I love how to the tour guides take the time to learn everyone's names. While you're on the edge, the tour guides point out landmarks and explain some history. The guides pose you for individual and group photos. This was very exciting for me, but I wouldn't do it again just because I don't need to. If a friend was paying for my second trip I'd definitely do it though!
