Our experience started off well. The showroom staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful during the selection process. Unfortunately, everything after that was frustrating. The installation process was long, disorganized, and full of unnecessary delays. The person who came out to measure forgot to template the riser for our basement bar, which immediately stalled the project. Later, (after one rescheduled install due to staffing issues), an installation crew refused to enter the house after being instructed to use the basement entrance in the back. They left without completing any work. That decision alone pushed our remodel back another two weeks and disrupted the schedules of our other contractors. When installers finally returned, it was around 5:00 p.m. just before the Fourth of July weekend. Instead of simply completing the job, they immediately started making excuses about why they couldn't install the riser and suggested another reschedule. Fortunately, my painter was there and called them out, making it clear there was no reason the work couldn't be completed. They ended up installing it, allowing the rest of the project to finally move forward. If you're coordinating a remodel with multiple contractors and working on a timeline, I would not recommend Hard Rock Stone Works. The lack of communication, poor project management, and repeated delays turned what should have been a straightforward installation into a frustrating experience. read more

Came by to check out their showroom a while back. Looking at what to install in a shower stall area and bathroom counters too. Their show room here is quite impressive. It's bigger than I realized from the outside. There are slabs of marble and granite lined up everywhere. The kitchen counters area towards the back of the store displays some of their glass designed partnership brands. The large counter with all of the different counter and cabinet displays are quite good, allows you to touch and feel the texture and material. read more

Sales and measurement went well- on the installation date, which was scheduled for Cu8-12, they called and said they would be detained until after 12. The problem was that my shower door was going in on that same day at 2 o'clock. Susan told me everyone knows "you never schedule 2 contractors for the same day."Well this Susan did not know that and I thought it was a terribly rude thing of her to say, -my response was that if the shower door installation guys were on time and the hard rock guys were there at the same time, the hard rock guys would have to step out of the room so the shower door guys could work-It worked out fine, but I thought Susan was rude and unprofessional. read more

Nothing but professional service from everyone I interacted with, except the guy who looked and acted like a Pirate, but that was his last week, so I'm supposing he turned his customer service switch off with his 2 week notice. Debbie guided me through the design and purchasing process. She was new, but did a fabulous job. The appointments crew, however, never answer their phone and call you back at times when I specified I was not available. Hmmm? Doug, the guy who came out for the measure was a consummate professional. He was detailed, careful and precise. He has to be to make sure my counters will fit snug like a bug in a rug when installed. The installers Troy and Garrett, also were professional, careful, precise, and cleaned up to my satisfaction before their departure. Not sure where all the horrible service reviews come in because everyone I dealt with (Pirate man excluded) were pleasant, professional, and courteous. I just began working with this company and so far the process has been terrible. I have called and left so many messages and can't get anyone to return my calls. They were subcontracted through Lowes and I feel completely stuck with them. I wish we could work with a different company. After finally getting Paige Foster on the phone I was told I should get a call in another week or so to schedule a measure, the measure will be scheduled in 10-14 days from scheduling then another couple weeks to install. So from the time I ordered to our projected install date we are looking at 6 months! When I asked why we had to wait so long when our Cabinet installation is complete and they have my design dimensions from Lowes I was told "that is the policy" when I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to about my concerns she said no. She said "We won't change our policy for your one job" when I said I'd like to work with another company she said to go ahead and call Lowes and cancel the order. I had countertops installed in April of 2022. The sales team were good. The measurements of the countertops and backsplash were excellent. The installation was not professional. I have seams that you can see. The seams are becoming dirt catchers. They claim they cannot fix them. I have spots /smudges on the quartz that the installers left after " cleanup". it leaves rough spots on the countertops that you can feel when you wipe them. I called for service and was informed that I was past my customer service satisfaction window. ????? What does that mean!??And they won't do anything about it. I will not recommend this company to anyone. read more

A couple of years ago I had my kitchen redone. New cabinets, appliances, counter tops. Everything. Everything seemed fine. A little over a year after the counter tops and my brand new sink were installed I had an incident. The sink itself had come loose and fell through. Water got all over my underneath cabinet. I called up Hard Rock Stone Works to explain the problem to see if they could come and take care of it. They explained to me that it was over a year out of warranty, and it would be around $350.00 to come out and fix. Completely unacceptable. They obviously installed the sink wrong. I could not believe that they would not even work with me on this. Horrible experience. I guess that they are accepting the fact that they don't stand by their work. read more

I'm assuming that your company selects what reviews they want to post. I would never hire this company, please follow to find out why you should not choose this company. I purchased cabinets & granite from Lowe's. Figuring it would be easier if one company was responsible for the complete project. Upon hard Rock Stone Works coming out to measure, a few days later I received a call from they saying my order was on administrative hold. That I needed to contact Lowes Upon contacting Lowes, I was told that Hard Rock Stone is charging me an additional $500 for a few feet if 4" backsplash and another person to install because the density is more. What ever that means. So on Saturday, when I was called 3 days after measurements to be told about the administrative hold, I was told that I have to pay that day, so I could keep my install date. So I rushed and did it, Because I am traveling out of state for the next 30 days. They call me today and say we canceled your install anyways, and we pushed you back. I explained to them what I was told. I was notified it doesn't matter. Now my vacation has to be cancelled or my granite has to be rescheduled to when I get back. To charge someone for an extra person becuse of density at the last minute and to cancel my install. Especially when the installers seen the home is in the middle of a rehab. I own a Real Estate company, I will make sure every client, every person I know, does not work with this company. Horrible Service, if I could choose to cancel and get my money back I would. I did not choose this company, it was what I got when I contracted for my kitchen cabinet refacing, which was another disaster. At first, they were the only redeeming undertaking about this whole process. They took care of one issue promptly, then I noticed a small chip in my countertop. They sent out a repairman to "fix" it. I held for a short time, but then the "plug" with which he filled it came out. I called again, and this time they pretty much told me "too bad". Although they were kind enough to SELL me a kit for another $100 to now repair it myself. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company. It is my belief that they could not fix this problem without replacing a large piece of quartz, so they relieved themselves of responsibility for it. I am not speaking out of anger, I am simply attempting to save others from the problems dealing with this company causes. And in case you were wondering, I'm a Christian senior citizen whose only intention is to shed light on this company. read more

I am giving Hard Rock Stone Works a one star rating only because it won't allow me to give them a zero. They have multiple internal groups who do the customer service, accounting, scheduling and follow up. Getting them to schedule the measurement and installation dates was a nightmare. If you have a problem, they give you the run around and put you on hold indefinitely. I wish I had looked at the Yelp reviews before I allowed Lowes to use them to install my countertop. I see that they have a tremendous number of one star ratings -- that are well deserved. They told me they'd replace my sink with an identical new sink. They installed a different sink. It will require that I get a second plumber, pay the plumbers almost $700 and delay the rest of my kitchen project indefinitely. They told me it's not their problem BUT they'd call Lowes. The customer service person wouldn't write anything down. She stated resolution of their mistake is Lowe's problem. Disgusted is an understatement. Dont use them. read more

Horrible service. New kitchen through lowes. The people at lowes were great, contractor is great, Hard Rock Stone Works suck. They call a month ago saying they will be out in three weeks, and wanted to make sure the new cabinets were installed. I passed the phone over to my contractor and they made the appointment. Fast forward 4 weeks. Cabinets have been done for a week, and no word from Hard Rock. They tell the people at Lowes the product is damaged which is bs, since they said they had to template first then order the product, not the other way around. I wait another few weeks, still no word. Whole kitchen is not usable, and in a state where it can't be finished until the counter tops are in. They suddenly refuse to talk to my contractor which is crazy. They will only talk to a Lowes rep who is in Indianapolis, and has nothing to do with our job. HRock is not interested in working as a team. They would rather tell lies about damaged stone they hadn't even ordered yet. I got in touch with another stone counter top company, product in stock, will template in two days, and job completed within two weeks. So I called Lowes and fired Hard Rock, and they are refunding my $6100.00. Lowes has made the huge mistake of making Hard Rock their exclusive stone counter top company for the whole state of Michigan. You want stone counter tops? Don't buy them from Lowes or you will be screwed. read more

I recently used Hard Rock through Lowes and would NOT recommend them. I am of the opinion that problems/mistakes happen, it's how they get addressed. Well, that's why I'm giving Hard Rock 1 star. They measured my job incorrectly and came up short on one side of my kitchen. Once the installers realized it, they called the main office and left my home. For the record, the installers did a good job and were professional, but the main office failed them. After examining the job further (1 hour later) I called Hard Rock and told them I would fix the issue with some wood trim. I asked them to send someone back out. They REFUSED and said they HAD to cut a new piece. Well, 5 days later that piece did not get measured correctly and did not match. I ended up using the piece that was originally short and I fixed the problem myself. After waiting 5 days with a torn up kitchen. In my opinion, I would never use Hard Rock or Lowes again for this type of job. read more

Without a shadow of a doubt the rudest, most obnoxious, and odious salesperson it has ever been our misfortune to encounter. We spent less than ten minutes at Hard Rock Stone Works in Sterling Heights before we walked out of the building, frankly disgusted by the way in which were were treated. After asking multiple questions of us, and quite deliberately 'not understanding' our responses... to the point of absurdity... he deigned to take us into the warehouse area to look at the slabs. His lengthy rant about how we shouldn't be "milling around"... certainly a novel way of describing customers viewing the merchandise... was the last straw, and we excused ourselves. I ordered my granite tops from Lowes and they contract here for the actual install of the counters. There was an option to pick your counters or let them do it. My choice was that I would do it. I was contacted to verify my visit. The place sits in an industrial area not to far from the freeway. You are greeted as you enter. There is a display room to look at various floors or counters in the area. We were told that we would have to wear a hard hat as policy. We were take to the warehouse and shown the counter I selected and I was also shown other similar options. Well of course I changed my mind and picked another color. The change went over without a hitch. They scheduled the measurement and arrived on time. They than scheduled the install date and arrived early on that day. The only negative was that the back splash was not cut correctly so they had to take it back to have it re-cut. They called and rescheduled the appointment a week out. The installation was completed. Mike the install guy explained things thoroughly and was really apologetic about the mistake. overall it was good customer service, professional and I would recommend them as a purchase and install choice. read more

Hard rock stone works, our heroes! For our bathroom remodel we special ordered a double vanity with top and sinks from a big box store. They came as a set but the funny thing was the sinks did not lineup to the cabinets. Being that is one of the last items to do in the bathroom we were stuck. Then hard rock came to the rescue. We went over and picked out a beautiful piece of quartz which they prepared and installed in short order. We ended up with a more beautiful piece, laid out better for our needs, and at a similar price to what we had ordered. I called over and Dave prepared a few slabs for us to view. He really knows the materials they have available and all the nuances. The young man that came over to measure and also the installation crew we're all fast, polite, and professional. Plus they adhere to Covid safety protocols in each interaction which was assuring. Overall we were super impressed. I'm posting a few photographs but I'm not sure that they do it justice. While searching for new Countertops, we came across Hard Rock Stone Works. Going into this-we had no idea what we were really looking for and no great knowledge of the types of countertops/sinks, etc. When we arrived we were greeted by Mark, a salesman who was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. He asked what room we were looking to get new counters in, which was our kitchen. They had a promotion going on, buy a kitchen get one room free (a bathroom, or bar, etc.) We were given a tour of the show room, looked at different options of granite for the kitchen, many different colors and patterns to choose from. My Husband and I walked around for some time and actually chose a style that day and did a deposit. We received a new sink as well! (I'm a huge fan of my new huge sink!) We also picked out the remnant piece for our bathroom (Quartz-almost white color, very nice). After the salesman explained everything to us, they will call us to schedule the measuring. The guy who came to measure was extremely nice, didn't take too long, asked questions about backsplash in the kitchen, tiles, we had our new faucets there for him to measure, gave us some ideas on a window ledge. The installation couldn't have gone better-the guys really knew what they were doing. Troy handled the kitchen and the other installer took care of the master bathroom. Friendly, professional, and were in and out. The counters look amazing. We are so beyond happy with the work that Hard Rock Stone did. We'd recommend them to anyone looking! Worst customer service ever!!!!!!! They called and schedule my delivery then no call no show on delivery day. After several calls and messages were left I was finally called back 3 hours after the delivery window had passed and told I was scheduled for another week out at a different time. I was then told four different stories on when they would receive, cut , and inspect my counters which at this point should have been installed when I questioned the multiple stories I was told by Marley that "it didn't matter why they weren't ready and I had no choice but to wait until wait another week" after this I pointed out that they could easily install on Monday or Tuesday which they are closed on for the holiday to make up for their mistakes only to be told it is impossible because my counters (which I bought 3 months ago) would still not be ready. I cancelled my order. I would rather wait an additional few weeks for my counters to be installed by a better company and not have to deal with being mistreated so badly by a very unprofessional staff when I'm paying nearly $5,000 for their service. read more

Gary, the reasons for the sub par review were dings/scratches in the Silestone on the island and no reply about cleaners and sealants, along with how often granite should be sealed. The dings were brought up in the pre-closing walkthrough, so the issues had to be addressed and fixed within a week, which shouldn't have been an issue, but were! Another company stepped up and replaced the Silestone, along with sealing the granite, which should have been done after being installed, but wasn't...they noticed the issue and sealed the granite in the bathrooms. If installers treated each job as if it was their own home, issues probably wouldn't occur! Since it's not their home, or even someone they know, they could care less, which is very bad business! Employees need to be trained and educated to treat each project as if they are working on their own home! Sad that this has to be posted since it requires adults to work on and complete the projects! read more

My husband and I are in the process of 'working' with them and it has been nothing short of terrible. Bad service, clueless employees, no teamwork (just to name a few). They do NOT honor their commitments. We were lured in at the Troy location by Tom but once we got to the warehouse and started working with Erica, everything went downhill fast. I have been waiting for my installation to happen since 8 am and no one has shown up or called. My sales person is 'out' and there is no one else to pick things up and help us. Professional and knowledgable. Measured, Delivered, installed, and paid for without issues. The missing 3 stars are due to the overall experience. Story: Met many many fabricators. Most of them were shady, over priced, or lacked fundamental knowledge. We felt good about hard rock. They do the sales part right. We chose a slab, checked its availability, and made plans to buy. Due to a glitch in their system, the slab we picked was actually sold and it was the last of the batch. So we transition. They have remnants of the same material. I hand them my card. They take my money. Remnant is already sold to someone else. I accept the excuse about the system being glitchy and so issue with proper labels... whatever. Back to shopping for the right material. I tell them to keep the deposit- ill call them when i find the right slab. I find it (universal in royal oak... great people). The slab i want is gorgeous. There is notable consistency in 2/3s of the slab. The remaining 1/3 is slightly less desirable. Its all great, but i ask if Hard Rock could please favor the 2/3s we love during their layout. They say this will be considered during the layout, but if i want to be more involved its $250. Ok, I dont want to pick a specific cut. Just favor these 2/3s over those. Guess what 2/3s I had installed? I get why. The remnant of the slab they kept was the nicest. Easiest to sell later. If I were a business, I'd have to consider this as well. IF THE CUSTOMER WAS COOL WITH IT. Wrong mentality. Wrong situation. My recommendation: add $250 to their quoted cost if there is even a chance you care slightly about what you get. Otherwise they will favor their bottom line in the layout... not you. I'm not sure who is better than Hard Rock, but I'm not sure i can recommend them either. Its bittersweet. I am happy with my countertops. Seriously. I don't gamble and anticipated this result. But it should not have played out like this. Way below expectations. $9600 worth of granite and about 2/3 of it feels unfinished and scratchy. "Customer support" will answer a phone call but will just remind you of the contract that this is natural rock. No one will come out and take a look at it. If you have any expectation of smooth granite do not choose White Galaxy. Gets 2 stars because it does look good and seams are great and all the installers were professional. Also double check your layout and don't assume their measurement on sink placement will be centered on a window. Also don't expect a smooth seal around undermount sink. read more

So we had an install that needed some work ... a few chips in the seam and a 3/4 inch gap at one of the corners ... they scheduled a 12- 2:00 p.m. window to have it fixed and we finally called to check on them and got a response about 3:15... finally got a call from the installer coming to fix it saying he would be at our home about 6:00pm.. A little history. We decided after shopping for months to use Lowes for our kitchen upgrade. $25,000 later the upgrade is complete. At first no issues. One day we are sitting in the living area and we here a very loud crack, like a gunshot in our house. After starting our hearts back up we look around and find the counter top cracked wide open above the dishwasher. The counter is warm but not hot to the touch. The crack is 1/4 of a inch wide.... Its just before a few big party's at the holidays. Once the counter sat for a few hours the crack closed up some so its hard to see but its not fixed. Lowes says the counter is under warranty from their supplier however hardrock says they provide no warranty when they install for a OEM like Lowes. Stay away from both Hard Rock and Lowes for any work you need done. read more

This review started out as a 5 star review until all of the mishaps. Walked into the show room, had good conversation with salesman and found our quartz! Then we called and called to get scheduled for over 2 weeks! No one contacted us back! Until someone called and was like "are you ready to schedule yet?" Uh yeah we have been trying to call....her excuse "well we are super busy." I don't care how busy you are! Business is business and there is a little thing called customer service! Install was scheduled as discussed at the purchase. 10-14 days out.. Guys came to install, didn't wear masks, came into our home with no shoe coverings, when asked they said "oh, we don't get those provided, the customer has to provide them. " Same comment as before...WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! Now, install was super quick as anticipated. However, the caulk job is horrible; all over my freshly painted walls! There was glue on my brand new tile & a dent in our wall where the sil was installed. As many of us do, we paid a lot of $ for this stone to enjoy our new bathroom. The company that comes out should not cost us more $ with our contractor to fix your mistakes. We will absolutely NEVER recommend this company to anyone! I had a really great experience with Hard Rock Stone works. The sales rep was very helpful and responsive. The measurement professional and installation crew were polite, respectful of my home and did a great job. When I ran into a service issue that was on the part of the manufacturer, (not Stone Works) they went above and beyond to try to resolve the issue and make it right.
