Let me take you on a captivating journey through my incredible experience. It all began when I stumbled upon a friend's Instagram post, brimming with enthusiasm about hardcore Fitness. Instantly, I felt an irresistible pull, beckoning me to explore this thrilling new world. Without hesitation, I swiftly registered for the irresistible promotion they were offering. To my surprise and delight, I received a prompt call back, arranging a 7-Day trial that would forever change my perspective on fitness. Anticipation bubbled within me as I eagerly awaited my inaugural session of pilates, a discipline I had never ventured into before. Little did I know the challenges that awaited me, but also the immense joy that would accompany them. Parking is a naughty little hassle, but I digress. As I stepped foot into the studio, my heart raced with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. However, any apprehension quickly dissolved upon encountering the extraordinary instructor, Claire, who also happened to be the owner of the studio. Her infectious enthusiasm and warmth embraced me, transforming what could have been a daunting experience into an unforgettable journey. The Pilates session proved to be nothing short of superlative. Each movement was a testament to the sheer determination and strength of the human body. Though the poses pushed me to my limits, the instructor's guidance and unwavering support propelled me forward. With every breath and muscle fiber engaged, I relished in the challenge, knowing that greatness was within my reach. To my delight, I convinced a friend to join me on my subsequent visit. Together, we embarked on this exhilarating fitness adventure, experiencing a harmonious blend of laughter, camaraderie, and yes, even sweat. Our bond strengthened as we navigated the poses, spurred on by the infectious energy that filled the room. Sadly, unforeseen circumstances interrupted my trial period, preventing me from completing it. Yet, the flame of determination within me burns brighter than ever. I yearn to become a dedicated member of this incredible fitness sanctuary, participating in their unlimited classes and embracing the transformative power they offer. The instructors, a dynamic duo of a husband and wife, radiate passion and genuine care for each individual that walks through their doors. Their unwavering dedication ensures that every participant is guided with precision, challenging them to push their boundaries while fostering an atmosphere of joy and fulfillment. I cannot help but admire their ability to strike the perfect balance between pushing us toward greatness and ensuring we find delight in the process. With uncontainable anticipation, I eagerly await the moment when I can officially join their fitness family. But until that day arrives, I implore you, dear reader, to seize this opportunity for yourself. Embrace the call to sweat, to push your limits, and to sculpt the body you desire or maintain the one you cherish. Allow yourself to be captivated by the charm and devotion of this remarkable fitness haven. In the grand tapestry of life, there are rare moments that beckon us to embark on remarkable journeys. This, my friend, is one of those moments. So, without hesitation, take the leap and embark on your own odyssey of self-discovery and transformation. Embrace the challenge, revel in the camaraderie, and let the magic unfold as you forge a stronger, healthier, and more vibrant version of yourself. The time is now--go forth and conquer!

Great pilates studio! The instructor Michelle was so nice and welcoming!! It was my first class recently and had a great time. I did the Cardio sculpt class and it was challenging yet very fun! They offer a wide variety in class types! Good quality, modern equipment, and a lot of pilates accessories for the class. I bought a 3 class package for $45 which was a great deal!! Although the parking seemed limited. Was a little early to the class so not an issue for me. Highly recommend this studio! Can't wait for my next class

Love it! Tried out the free week long trial and fell in love with this place! All of the instructors are super friendly and helpful, they've really built a nice community around their gym. Its also really nice to have a variety of classes to choose from and still have consistent routine of working out!

It was definitely hard and challenging but that's what makes it so great. Loved the reformer class with Kemi. She's great at adjustments and encouraging the class individually and as a whole. Check in was super easy. There's an iPad on the wall and you just check in independently and pick out the reformer you want. Theres a nice big mirror the spans an entire wall. Lots of core strength and a couple of cubbies to place your things. Grip socks are not required but I wore them because safety first. Lots of pulses. If I were new, it would probably be more like 2-3 stars. There's been a turnover of instructors, and they are rallying. While the new teachers are nice and putting in the effort, they lack foundational Pilates knowledge. Classes are similar to a spin class because instructors talk and encourage the WHOLE time. It ends up being a bit chaotic because people can't distinguish between the cheerleading, the necessary cues, or spring changes. Most importantly, the detailed form cues and corrections are missing. Classes feel rushed and lack clear direction on technique, which is the opposite of what Pilates should be. Classes can still be hard and appropriately paced. The cues and form are what makes Pilates hard, not rushing through moves. (Its also physically impossible to do a weighted low squat and a shoulder press within 1 second- let alone safely on a reformer. Why are we doing this?) It seems they all went to the same training class and haven't trained with different instructors so it's a problem across the 6-8 teachers I've tried in the last 3 months. If it weren't for Stacey and Caroline, I'd have moved to a closer studio by now. I hope the instructors undergo more training and are introduced to more than one type of teaching so they develop their own style. People are nice, and they are trying, but they aren't there yet.

We wanted to continue this once we returned to Houston, but we didn't want to find a studio with 30+ students and the Pilates classes at our current gym didn't give us any feedback on whether we were doing the positions/moves correctly. We turned to yelp for help :) We were looking for the following in a studio to supplement our gym membership: 1) small classes 2) personal attention 3) encouraging and attentive teachers This studio has all 3 of these things, but it's not limited to Pilates! They have yoga and cycling classes that meet the above three requirements too! We've only been members since October, but we look forward to our weekly classes. What's really nice is the class feels tailored to us. My husband and I have different bodies (height, strength, flexibility, etc), and the teachers really adapt to us! They'll change certain routines to ensure each student is getting the most of the session. It's a great personalized experience, and your body will thank you. I've already noticed better posture and just awareness of how I hold myself when doing everyday things at home or at work. What a neat find - thank you, yelpers!

She's lucky I brought my neighbor and I was trying to play nice in front of her because were it just me there I would not have dealt with being talked to like that you could tell she was just an angry woman. Another thing I want to point out is it it's all abs here. Like the workout pretty much feels like you're holding a plank for one hour like they only work out the abs. Every other Pilates class I've seen or even the mat Pilates ones (I guess those aren't the real ones) I don't know they work out different muscles. But it's very core centered here so if you like that, go for it. But don't let these bishes try you that's all I'm saying hahaha. From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup. Pro tip#3: going for pilates here makes it so much easier to grab a quick bite or drink before/after workout!
