They were out of biscuits, tortillas, sausage. They offered a croissant or sourdough bread only and the sandwich was so smashed and pitiful looking, not to mention small. The staff were clueless what they had to offer and really they should maybe have put up a sign to help speed up the line because it took forever to order at this fast food establishment because they didn't know what they had and had to ask each time someone tried to order an item on the menu. First time ever trying to eat at one of these Hardee's and probably the last. All their tables inside the restaurant were dirty and they were barely even full of guests so there is no reason for staff to not be able to get them cleaned and ready for more guests to utilize, To me that's all was a sign of a poorly ran establishment and company. read more

There are only two food options here and Starbucks. Grabbed a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, 3 piece tender with BBQ sauce and a side of fries for $17.40. The Nashville hot chicken looks flat and sad, not crispy, neither were the tenders. The Nashville tasted okay and had some flavor at least. The fries were not good, really dull and boring. read more

Overall for the restaurant I would say it's good for any greasy cravings you might have for just some basic sandwiches and things like that. But it's nothing really unique or tasty or anything. First time coming here. I was hungry on my drive back to Chicago from a business trip. I ordered their small meal of 3 tenders and fries. The lady hooked me up with a few extra tenders since they're shutting down. All my tenders were overcooked and the fries tasted like garbage which was quite disheartening. I chose this place as a last resort option but I will rather starve instead now if this place became my last resort. read more

The female supervisor was embarrassing and unprofessional being loud talking about a young teen female employee who was apparently upset when her shift ended because she was forced to stand at the register until 2.. to the employees male peers for everyone to hear.. she was telling them what happened and why the female employee was upset and making fun of her and telling them loudly that if she told her to stand in the corner for 5 hours she better cause you do what your told or don't have a job she's the boss and you have a job because I let you be here...and she don't give a flying F etc cussing and acting very above her team. they all just stared uncomfortable knowing she was publicly broadcasting loud and obnoxiously. It was a hostile environment for me i couldnt imagine working for that woman who thinks being a supervisor at the rest stop Hardee's is something to act mighty powerful over. Had the chicken burrito. It was fine. But, they were out of diet coke on one of their soda machines, then I discovered how super slow they were. They only had one cash register open, but the young lady running it took everyone's order in a timely fashion. That just highlighted the fact that the kitchen was WAY behind in making the food. I can only hope it was slow because someone did not come to work, because to be that slow in a location like this where everyone is traveling is almost criminal! Can't comment on the floor, because it is in a food court and they don't have complete control of their space. Better service would equal more stars, but hey, it was poor at best. Hardee's Red Burrito: A Burger Place Tries to do Mexican As we were ordering at the counter, the cashier stood there incessantly tapping a plastic table tent against the countertop, looking quite put out with the customers and seemed to think that this racket would help us decide what we wanted to eat. Two of us decided to get the chicken burrito combo, consisting of a burrito, a small taco salad bowl consisting of refried beans and cheese, a side of chips and salsa, and a drink. First, the chicken burrito. "Chicken burrito" is evidently code for "bean and cheese burrito with a chicken garnish." The small bean dip had a sprinkling of cheese on it and was surrounded by an affront to tortillla-kind. Then there chips and salsa. Well, the chips; nine of them to be exact (the other meal had eleven). There was no salsa to be found. The soda was, well, soda. It's a mark of the level of my disappointment that the paper cup of Coca-Cola was the highlight of my meal. To top it all off, the entire meal was tepid at best. Since Red Burrito was "closed" (even though Hardee's was still open), I couldn't even get a salsa. I've never given a one star review before, but I guess there's a first time for everything, unfortunately. read more

This is for the Red Burrito by Hardee's in the Ohio Turnpike Blue Heron Service Plaza. You see them make your food Subway-style and it really is disgusting. My teenage son saw the composition of the burrito and decided to go for a burger instead. For Red Burrito: I wish 0 stars was an option. We ordered a quesadilla and burrito as we were given not very much selection for anything else at the rest stop. The cashier kept snorting and coughing as she was working with the food and was rude. The cleanliness of the area was abysmal; flies, pieces of food everywhere, and their horrifying-looking "beans". This review is for Red Burrito. I'm not a huge fan of fast-food burgers and Hardee's line was super long, so I looked forward to something different. I used to work in food service, and these people need retraining and much better management. There was cheese scattered all over the other food. They didn't bother to warm the tortilla before making my burrito, so the tortilla split when rolled. There was a blob of sour cream in the cheese, and I had to stop the guy from plopping that into my son's quesadilla (he doesn't like sour cream). My "toasted burrito" was barely warm (definitely didn't melt the cheese) due to being over stuffed and under cooked, ditto for the quesadilla. My daughter wanted sour cream on the side for her quesadilla, and I had to ask them to please fill the cup after they put less than a tablespoon in it. Everyone was moving like molasses on a cold day - I counted 6 people behind the counter, only 3 of which were actually doing anything, the other 3 were literally staring into space. We did eat the food (hungry and not enough time to go through the Hardee's line), we'll see how stomachs do. read more

Hardees Service-good Timely-reasonably fast 3-5 min wait Cleanliness-clean Food-was good. Overall no complaints. Red Burrito Service-Poor the guy was very slow but nice Timely-was slow took us 20 mins to get our food. He stoped in the middle of serving us to refill the napkins. Cleanliness-very messy, the worker was mopping the floor with out washing hands, then he handled money, and proceeded to try and make my food. I had to ask him to change his gloves. He did but did not wash his hands. Because he is moving so slow I decided to just let it go. But I'm glad I was not the only one concerned the guy behind me in Line was saying he needs to change his gloves after ringing me up. Food- my son ate his tacos he said they were fine. I ate my burrito I served in the military I like to think I have a iron stomach. Overall-I hope they make changes to proper food handling techniques I've worked in food service for 7 years so I'm very familiar when it comes to proper food handling techniques. Haven't had Hardees in years. I was happy to see it at the rest stop when I stopped for breakfast. I love their sourdough buns but was disappointed that the breakfast menu only has one sandwich with that particular bun. I thought ham, bacon or sausage could've been offered instead of ham alone. Worst burgers I have ever had and my standards for burgers is not that high. Generally, if it is a burger, it's at least a three. Not here. This is the danger of traveling by car, you are trapped on the hwy and eat somewhere you know you should not. Don't stop here for lunch, there has to be something better down the road. read more

My Main Course - This is a Hardee's Red Burrito location. I ordered the chicken quesadilla so I could eat and drive, I know distracted driving but it is easy food. Wow this thing was gross. The cheese, was this really cheese? The chicken was rubbery. There was a mystery flavor; I think it was hot pepper sauce. The bad part is that the food comes in an envelope, so I used it as my plate. I looked down at my plate and it looked like I had two burnt cardboard matches left on the plate. Ugh I know this was not the case but burnt tortilla shell. I stole my wife's fries as another item to eat in the car that is easy, just blah. Dessert - none. Service - One cashier and bagger working he orders. The line moved from the cashier to wait for your food. So the kitchen was not staffed for the weekend rush. Future - I hope not. read more

I am a professional truck driver I pulled into the service plaza expecting to get something to eat I walked up to the counter it was 8:59 p.m. and she said we close at 9:00 p.m. . All the grills are shut down they're wiping things down people are standing around playing on their phones summer cleaning up summer breaking down machines and all this happened after 9:00 p.m. or was it before 9:00 p.m. nevertheless I couldn't even get a dessert. You don't have to fix the dessert all you have to do is ring it up you have one minute to spare surely your drawer isn't broken down already or is it? When you're on the road and you're looking for a place to eat you depend on places like this to be available and willing to help you and serve you something just to get you over the hump until you can get to your next stop. Not very customer oriented don't even care if you get the food or not they're only concern was it's time to leave but it's 9:00 you close at 9:00 and is already your time to leave. The Red Burrito is the sadest burrito I know. With an empty tank of gas and 3 hours past lunch time we stopped here in shear desperation. After 15 min of waiting for "fast food" our order came up. The bean burrito was just poorly spiced refried beans in a flour tortilla. We also had a chicken strip version that was not much better. What we got was the absolute bare minimum which could have been rescued by tomatoes, lettuce, corn, cheese, etc; but there were no fixings. They dropped the keys into the fryer and had to fish it out with some other object!! After three people were waiting at 1 in the morning for someone to come to the register while 3-4 people where horsing around in the back, clearly aware that we where present, one person left, the other had to go behind the counter to look for someone to take our order, and that person came by slowly. I only wanted a sweet tea to keep me up after a long trip on my way to Chicago, he took his sweet time, gave me the cup and when I want to fill it up, I found there was no sweet tea, went to the other station, also empty, had to go back wait for the person to take the other of yet another poor victim, and let him know that there was no tea. I did not know if he was going to do anything about it, but ended up telling someone else to see about preparing the sweet tea, everyone just seemed to be horsing around back there and where finally starting to come back out, but still horsing around. I did not know if they where ever going to prepare the sweet tea. Apparently someone dropped the keys into the fries fryer, and all 4 people where trying to figure out how they would take it out, got the keys out with some item, but I now question how tainted that oil must be if they drop the keys in and use other items to fish them out, I was really starting to reach my frustration point. It did not seem like they where going to prepare any sweet tea and my party had been waiting for me for a while already to leave so I just asked for my money back. Mind you it had already been over 15 minutes since I had ordered the sweet tea. The person called the person whose keys had fallen into the fryer to give me the refund, and she decided it was appropriate to tell me that she had dropped the keys but was about to prepare the tea, then threw the money on the counter. It took a lot out of me to resist saying anything to her arrogant self and will opt instead on making sure the managers check the cameras. In the mean time I would strongly suggest anyone that thinks of stopping at this location to keep in mind that the the employees here are so careless that I would now question the quality of any food item that comes out of this restaurant. read more

It was my lunch pit stop for the long road trip back to Chicago. The only options were Hardee's or some Italian eatery. I ordered two fish tacos and some chicken tenders. The order took awhile to get to me, but I guess they claim to make everything fresh. That would make sense. The fish tacos were okay. The taco soft shell was really cold and the fish was lukewarm. I wasn't used to eating a cold taco. The chicken tenders, though, came straight of the frier. It was piping hot and so good. It was also deliciously seasoned. Everything was a little pricey, but there aren't a lot of restaurants around so it's smart if hme to home up the prices. If you're hungry and have nothing to eat, you will buy the food at whatever price. read more

So we have been driving around and stopped at this travel plaza. Saw Hardee's and like the food so figured we would go there. We walk up and the kids not even paying attention to us, then after we order we go down to wait. The whole time we're waiting all the employees are being really obnoxious and one girl yelled bitch. Then after our sandwiches are done we see the kid go over to get our fries then he has to cook new ones because there aren't enough old ones. He fooled around the whole time when he could of had the fries down the whole time, he's too busy flirting with everyone and not paying attention. Then he comes over and asks if we want onion rings instead..no we want fries. Then when the fries come up another kid puts new fries on top of the old fries in the boxes. When we asked for all new fries he dumped the old fries back in and just stirred them in. The whole time the manager was doing nothing. If you can avoid this Hardee's I would. The guy at Red Burrito moved slower than molasses on a hot day and seemed to not care about his job. Hardee's only had my boyfriend and my son in line and took about 8 minutes to get us served. Terrible-ordered chicken fingers and fries ended up waiting over 10 minutes for my order. Chicken fingers soggy and I did not get my ranch like I asked for. The fries were bland I barely ate half of them. Coke and diet coke were empty at the soda machine. The tables were extremely dirty obviously they are seldom wiped down and flies were rampant in the establishment. The service station also employs a fat greasy troll-like creature who will cause you to lose your appetite if you see it. Don't even bother with this place, if you need something fast I believe they have a BK at the next service station about 12 miles away, this place is not worth anyone's time or money. read more
