Absolutely disgusting bathrooms. We stopped in for a bathroom break and to grab a quick lunch while traveling from out of town. The smell as soon as you open the bathroom doors is like cat pee and every single surface was sticky and covered in filth. The smell was so intense that is was almost hard to breath. There wasn't a chance we'd be staying and eating anything made in that building with the bathrooms in the condition they were. There's obviously a lack of cleanliness and that's a reflection on the staff (how would your food be any cleaner!?). We even took our shoes off and put them in the trunk before getting back in the car because the thought of carrying anything from that bathroom back into our car made me sick to my stomach. Wow! This place is...really dirty. Just walking in, the windows and doors are filthy! Sticky, gross fingerprints, handprints, splashes of...I don't know what. We walked in to hear employees talking about running someone over. The person who took our order was later witnessed coughing into her hand and then scratching her butt. Never moved from her spot to wash her hands or reach for some hand sanitizer. The floors were unswept, appeared to be unmopped. The bathroom sinks were so gross I opted to use hand sanitizer from my purse. Let me preface this by saying we haven't been here in a while because of the whole "no toy in the kids meal" nonsense, where a manager would tell me every time that they owed me a toy and I could get them when he picked them up, but he never seemed to . The other night, due to a sheer lack of willingness to drive to Rantoul, I decided to try them again . Huge mistake - absolutely bananas and disgusting experience! Between the ADULT employees group bullying one KID- to the point that some brown haired wannabe firefighter who apparently also works there literally came in to bully this boy and interrupt the person who was doing my order to talk about this kid to this bigger older woman literally behind the counter and then into the kitchen following this kid around flipping him off - the rude customer service, the bugs in the pop machine, the disgusting food that wasn't even my order ( and after waiting that long for it you'd think it would have been fresh or at least right when it was LITERALLY thrown into the ready spot) , the wafts of freaking bong smoke and vapes, etc, that by the time two mice ran across the one counter I didn't even want my food anymore . If you're thinking about stopping at this Hardee's in Paxton , don't . The worst service at a fast food restaurant and that's not exaggerating ! They probably benefit from the fact that there's literally no other fast food options available but if anyone had a choice they would never repeat going there because it's an awful place . I dropped in to get some breakfast and my coffee was ice cold . I asked politely to Brittany , supposedly the manager who was serving me if I could wait on another cup . She had a real attitude about it like I was inconveniencing her tremendously and even though there was no one else in the drive thru at the time, she told me to pull up and wait 5-10 min even though the fresh pot was brewing quickly I noticed. I said I would be happy to move out of the way... once another customer was behind me . That made her extremely irate and she started dropping f-bombs on me. At that point I just told her I wanted a refund and to get out of there because there's no way I would trust eating the food given to me by them . Instead of giving me a refund like you are literally supposed to do every time in fast food , she then decided to call the small town of Paxton's "chief of police" Cornett to come threaten me with arrest unless I got off the property. this guy was the epitome of Barney Fife. I was not causing any trouble whatsoever , just calmly but firmly insisting on my refund yet he looked like he was hoping I would escalate the situation so he could exercise his power and authority to arrest me. I didn't give him the satisfaction . When I asked for her gm's number or corporate number for Hardee's both Brittany and Chief Cornett angrily told me to "Google it" . I figured at that point it wasn't worth it to stay there any longer so I took their advice and googled the corporate number and contacted them leaving a detailed description of what I had endured. I also disputed the transaction with my bank . Judging by the low rating here on yelp for this Hardee's I'm far from the only one who was treated badly by this location ! I can't stress enough all of this could have been avoided if they had just given my my 13$ refund. That is corporate policy and it would have ended it right there and no Yelp would have been necessary . Place is filthy, honestly looks like they never clean up after close. Ok, I've been patient, thinking that the poor service was a one-time thing. But, after there was a supply problem two weeks in a row, I have to let fellow Yelpers know what's up. Last week I tried to get some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, which was clearly and rather largely displayed on the drive-up menu. When I asked for it at the window the girl stated that it was no longer available. She offered Hardees BBQ sauce as a substitute, said she didn't know if it was the same or not, and asked "do you want to try it, ma'am" through clenching teeth. I got some of the sauce and it was nothing like Sweet Baby Ray's. Ugh! Then yesterday I went through the same drive-up with the same worker at the window. I ordered coffee with sugar and creamer - and lots of both. She came to the window with om;u ONE pitiful container of creamer, telling me that it was the only one that they had and a delivery truck was expected the next day. I couldn't believe it! "ONE CREAMER in the whole store?" I asked. A nod was her reply. Unbelievable! These problems might seem trite, but when it's a chronic supply problem, I am irritated. Ok, downgrading to one star. Went there this morning and ordered two egg and cheese biscuits, small hash rounds, and a drink. I had to repeat my order three times at the drive-thru. I got the food and was a mile down the road when I unwrapped the biscuit and took a bite. Didn't taste too good. I looked inside and there was no egg, just cheese. And they gave me large hash rounds instead of small. I drove back to Hardee's and told them I wanted my money back. The girl who waited on me couldn't have been more sullen. I don't think I've ever been in a more disgusting bathroom. Seriously, the men's room was worse than an outhouse. They'd be better off boarding up the bathroom and putting a portable john outside. That way it would have to get replaced periodically. There was crap (and I mean that in the literal sense) all over the place. There's a black soap scum film on the sinks. The seats are falling off the toilets. My friend said he felt if he washed his hands they would actually end up dirtier. I would be embarrassed to say I worked here. I'd be embarrassed to be the owner or regional manager! What is wrong with these people!? Fortunately I didn't see the bathroom before I ate, otherwise I would have walked out. I just went through the drive up for lunch. The service was good and the person a the window ws friendly, although I don't know how she could be...the Manager...a big guy with a belly was berating her in earshot of me at the window...heard him tell her "you can go home now you know!" He wsn't invitiing her to go home he was threatening her. Come on now! Does Hardees not train their managers how to manage their staff? We ate here while travelling. Nothing wrong with the food and the employees were friendly but poorly organized and slow. The major issue is that the entire building is dirty. The bathrooms were horribly dirty and the dining area was visibly dirty everywhere. Floors, tables, chairs, all dirty. There is no excuse for this in the food industry other than laziness. read more

About the only good thing i can say is that they are convenient to the 57 express. Otherwise it was completely unexceptable! We were in a hurry so figured fast food. NOPE, would have taken less time at a sit down restaurant. Placed our order and noticed it was dirty with fried and stuff all over the floor just kicked into and under things. Should have left then but thought the 5$ meals would be economical for a stop on a long road trip. 1/2hr later we were still sitting there waiting. When they did bring our food, 3/4 of the order was wrong so they had to remake it(management yelled loudly from the front at our table that the gal who took our order took it wrong, you NEVER repremand it of customers!!!). Another 10mins go by so I go up and ask because we are on a road trip and loosing time on the road due to this delay. Alot of yelling in the back finally after more then 50mins we got our order super sized, they doubled the chicken and gave us super sized fries. The fries mostly went to waste and found the trash, but had enough chicken left over to have some bites in morning since we were on the road. All in all a very disappointing experience and i would personally never return to this store. The bathrooms were dirty,tables were sticky, they claimed they were busy but I really didn't see many orders go out that night, a group of 3 before us, and the rest(maybe 6 boxes) of an amish order that also got wrong orders(they spent some time getting them fixed) and 2 drive thru in the 1st 30min wait. read more

Stopped by here today on my trip home. Everything we ordered was hot and fresh. Employees were super nice and let me know it would be a few minutes for my food to be prepped bc it was being made fresh. We don't have Hardee's in the Chicago area but their big chicken sandwich is better than most restaurants have. My friend had the double cheeseburger and it too was hot and fresh. Stopped in to get lunch, floors and restroom were dirty. The cook came out of the kitchen dressed in dirty clothes,no hair net,yek! Our food came out cold,but the entertaining feature of this place is to watch the help outside, all having a smoke when delivering food to the drive thru customers.
