CLEAN WATER FLOWING????????????????????????????? I'm not posting this for sympathy so please don't think that. I just want everyone to be aware how the higher ups in our utility company (Hardin Co. Water Dist 2. General Manager) think. I'll start by saying that I have AFib and congestive heart failure and I HAVE to drink lots of water to keep from becoming dehydrated. That said; a few weeks ago, I think a month this Friday but anyway, the water was horrible. Looked like red clay mud watered down. It was not fit to drink, bath, dishes, cook, laundry (should have seen my white throw rugs) or anything. It stayed this way off and on for at least 3 weeks. Hardin Co. Water District 2 sent people to flush lines etc but then the next morning or so, it was right back again. I had to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking because faucet water wasn't fit to use. I called and ask for a credit ($10.00 to cover water I had to buy) as I pay my water bill and then had to turn around and buy bottled water. They are always bragging about our water quality. Well, guess what. Maybe not so good. I got a call this morning from one of the girls in the office advising me the General Manager denied the credit. I just don't feel it's right to pay for water and then HAVE to buy water to drink. I'll GUARANTEE you the General Manager would not have used the stuff that came from my faucets. I don't know if anyone else had this issue or not but it was so very annoying and frustrating. NO ONE should HAVE to pay for water that looks like this, even if it is only temporary. Horrible customer service. Never missed a payment during the entire "pandemic" and get behind on one bill and they waste no time shutting the water off and won't make payment arrangements or even let it go in anyone else's name. read more

I set my account up on autopay to avoid any late fees/penalties, I get forgetful and always set up to have my accounts to be autodrafted. I was told today that I have been billed a late payment fee every month since my service started over a year ago because they did not deduct my auto pay until 3 or 4 days after my due date with no sympathy and/or credit. I discovered a leak in my crawl space and had a plummer coming to fix it . HCWD2 called me the day it was being fixed to let me know they noticed a large spike in my usage and that I might have a leak. If I hadn't already discovered it this would have definitely helped me get it under control quickly. read more

Just a bit above Kentucky Utilities when it comes to customer service and that's not saying much.Had my water shut off for forgetting to pay my bill , understood it was my fault,but they came back after bill was paid but left s note saying there was water on in the house even though nobody was home and they couldn't turn it on. I called the emergency line seeing if someone could turn it on and the rude person on the other end sad maybe but the forty other people in front of me were waiting too so in other words too lazy to do it. The customer service in the drivers and if you try to give feedback to the supervisor, she is even worse. Believe it or not some companies can have lazy employees who if its raining, or bad weather do not get out in it. On a rainy day the driver said he turned our water on, as I missed the bill by a day so it was off a $22 bill turned to $72 on a bill that came the next day. It was getting late on a Friday so I called and the driver said it was NOT on. They said he had come out already. I had to talk to 3 people, them call the driver etc and since he claimed it was on over 3 hours back and forth, then they wouldn't take calls saying it was being looked into- then another came out and said it wasn't turned at all and it took him 2 minutes from getting out off his truck to back in, we live less than a mile from them. They acted like I was lying about it being off. Who would pay and then lie about it not being on! They then threatened it could be up to 3 working days, so basically could be 5 more days with the weekend, as technically they have 3 days but the recording says within 24 hours. I wish towns had competing utilities so they cant get away with treating people anyway they like. read more

I work for a large apartment management company and find Hardin County Water District 2's service to be the worst I have ever dealt with. They seem to make things as difficult as possible for their customers: The automated phone service just sends you around in circles, making it nearly impossible to speak to an actual person; they sent an account of ours to collections, and even after I contacted them and provided proof that the account had been paid and had never been delinquent, they still would not remove the collection; they shut off water to entire neighborhoods without any type of notification; they have also found water leaks, but determined they were on 'our side', so they were not fixed, nor were we notified that there was even a leak. The list literally goes on and on. It is a disservice to Hardin County residents that we do not have an option as to who provides this service for us. Things ran much smoother when Etown Utilities handled water, gas & sewer and I believe that the City of Elizabethtown should consider going back to handling everything that was switched to Hardin County Water District 2. read more

The greediest bastards with the rudest people on the phone NOT helping you at all. Less than a month ago they disconnected my water for nonpay (my bad, I paid the ridiculous $50 fee for my $19 unpaid bill). However, they shut it off again today, less than a month after they last shut it off, for nonpay, even though my bill hadn't even come in the mail yet. And according to bitchzilla that took my call there's nothing I can do to change it but pay the $50 AGAIN (fucking bastards). read more
