I can only vouch for the service we received-nose ring replacement not tattoo. However there was someone in there doing a full body tattoo that looked epic. My kids nose ring fell out on vacation and not a lot of places have good reviews or any reviews for piercings except this place so we thought we would give it a shot. So glad we did. Super chill vibes. Tiny spot on a small dead end street you could totally pass it and miss it if not careful. Pricing seems super fair based off tattoo minimum and our basic nose ring replacement for $10 (including placement and jewelry). Staff seems laid back and friendly. We show up for our appointment on Friday and waited 30 mins to talk to the artist who was late: " We don't do hand tattoos. They always blow out. We don't do that here." I called ahead of time for pricing. They said the minimum was 80.00. We wanted two small tattoos (half dollar sized) on the hand and front of foot...and they jacked the price to 150.00 because they thought we were tourists and said the reason for the price change was placement. The shop was unfriendly and kinda annoyed by tourists....we left went somewhere else...up the street....better treatment (met the owner of the very busy shop) they charged us the right price price, said placement wasn't a problem...very professional, very quick and super clean business. My sister and I are covered in quality tattoos (we pay for full and half days in the East coast) so we knew they tried to hustle us. I don't not recommend. Also we are both Puertorican and speak Spanish so we weren't tourists. read more

We were looking for a place to get a commemorative tattoo for our honeymoon. We went to another shop and they tried to hit us over the head with the tourist price for a very simple very small tattoo. We both have a few larger pieces and we knew better than to pay that crazy price for a teeny flash piece. Luckily we found this place on yelp and boy are we glad. While my nose piercing was inexpensive ($40?) it got infected immediately. I did see them disinfect it, yet my nose wouldn't heal until I changed the nose stud. I don't know if it's the material of the stud that was provided, but my piercing only healed after I changed it. Told a friend who also went here and had the same experience; even though we both followed their instructions exactly. My experience at this shop was topnotch. I got my first tattoo here after exhaustive research and friend recommendations. The space is small and cozy with posters and tattoo flash lining the entirety of the walls. Hygienic and tastefully decorated for sure. Two days before my session, I came in to talk about my design, location, and other details. The staff were friendly and helpful. I paid my deposit and came in for my session two days later. I was tattooed by the very talented José. My design required a lot precision since it consisted entirely of circles and lines. He handled the job with grace and precision. He didn't talk much, but was extremely focused on his work. The shop owner stopped by our station occasionally to comment on the work. I absolutely adore my first tattoo and would definitely return for another one. A lot of people talk about how this place is pricier than other tattoo shops in PR, but the kind of work they do here is way above the quality of a lot of other places in PR. Don't try to cut corners with something as life-changing and permanent as getting inked. Go to Harisumi and get quality art on your body! read more

I was in PR for vacation a couple years and i wanted to commemorate a family vacation with a tattoo. this experience was so traumatic for me. i went in that day and talked to the apprentice who was very nice and attentive. he made the stencil of my tattoo and it was awesome. then everything changed when the owner came into the shop. the apprentice and owner preceded to chop it up and chat for 40 minutes or more while i patiently waited. apparently he didn't have his glasses and started to just kill time while his apprentice went to buy him a pair from the drug store. during this time we chatted, i told him this would be my first tattoo and that i wanted it on my right side/lower part of the ribs (i knew that this would be painful in terms of the location). he jumped right into working on it when his glasses arrived. i didn't want any color or shading just simple lines. this job was suppose to take tops an hour long. we went WAY over on time. getting this tattoo was paramount to torture and verbal abuse. i tired to remain as still as possible but towards the end i could no longer control my body from shaking. this was an automatic response my body was having, the owner kept telling me not to move and became very angry and agitated. he went on to complain for the next hour or so that he will never again do 1st tattoos on ribs for people. he kept telling me not to move (practically yelling at me) bc he needed to finish soon bc his next appointment was waiting. he continually criticized the tattoo saying that it looked horrible bc i kept moving. throughout this whole time i am literally just balling my eyes out and saying im sorry but that i could no longer control my body. he basically berated and chastized me throughout the whole process, he didn't even finish the tattoo. i was literally traumatized by his treatment. he obviously really didn't care about me as a customer. he made me feel so much guilt and blame. like a broken record player he kept repeating that he would never do a 1st tattoo on ribs or fingers again. the lack of professionalism is astounding to me. in general you do not treat customers like trash. and that's how i felt when i left. i felt like i had paid someone to verbally abuse me. now i have this ugly reminder of his abuse. i can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences of my life. ps his name was dusty or rusty. read more

Was under a time crunch and walked in off the street to see if I might get an addition to a current tattoo. What I was requesting was NOT easy. Luis was booked but Dusty said he would doodle some ideas. I left and came back and liked what Dusty had drawn. We agreed on a price of 300.00 and the tattoo work to about 3 hours. I visit PR yearly and usually stay in Condado and a bartender at El Batey had recommended Harisumi to me one night, so I decided to visit. I'm heavily tattooed and usually pretty picky about about where and by who I get tattooed. I dream of getting tattooed every place I travel but...it can be sketchy. The options in the high Caucus Mountains of The Republic of Georgia, for example, were pretty damn shady. Cool, knowledgable artists, tiny shotgun style space (which I like). I was tattooed by Diggy, who I found out last year unfortunately no longer works there and he did a really incredible job. When I came home and was at my regular tattoo shop I shared the tattoo by Diggy and they freaked on his crazy color choices. It's also worth mentioning that I came in late without realizing they were about to close and they kept the shop open for me to chat and once I decided on the flash I wanted, Diggy stayed a couple hours late to finish it. Afterwards, they invited us to drink at a Mexican bar next door. Rad shop, rad people. read more

Went to Puert Rico week of June 20th 2015. My girlfriend and I decided to get tattoos to commemorate our vacation. This shop was recommended to us by a local. We went to get our tats done on 6/25 by the masterful artist Luis. The shop may be on the small side but is professionally appointed. Luis and Harry were both in the shop that night and are a couple of really awesome guys (Harry also has a shop in Honolulu Hawaii). Both Luis and Harry are very knowledgeable about all styles of tattoos especially American traditional (Sailor Jerry) tats. Luis has an amazingly steady hand and puts down strong solid lines and the colors the shop uses are amazing and vibrant. All in all I'd say one of the best tattoos I've ever gotten and I have alot. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in the San Juan Condado beach area looking to get some fresh ink! You won't be disappointed. read more

I went on an inspiring trip to Puerto Rico recently and needed something to take home with me forever...a tattoo! Even though I arrived at 7:30 and they closed at 8, Luis took great care of me, inscribing the two worded tattoo I wanted. He was done in just 15 minutes and without loss of perfection. I chose the font and he wrote it beautifully. He was also just generally a cool dude who knew people from my home state, California, so that was a cool quick binding moment. And also I got the tattoo underneath my left boob, which, usually if boobs are involved, guys get weird, but Luis made me feel comfortable. I was in Puerto Rico for the weekend, I am a native,born and raised in PR. For the last three years I've wanted a tattoo of a Taino Coqui..... I went there on Saturday to finally get my tattoo and had a bad experience .... The place came highly recommended. The artist Luis thought maybe that my tattoo was not up to his "standards" and he had bad energy. He didn't even introduced himself to us and was very negative thought out the whole experience. This was my sixth tattoo and he was just not in the right frame of mind. my tattoo hurts like crazy, he had a very heavy hand and transferred all his negative energy to me. My tattoo hurts and it shouldn't, I have bigger ones that have taken a lot more time and they did not hurt as much. He scar my skin........So my advice to Luis...... Keep it simple .......... And if you're not happy working as a tattoo artist then find something else to do...... You should always take pride in your work. read more

Can't really argue with $35 nose piercing. All in all, I'm ok with the job done and the jewelry they used. She did mess up during the piercing and it went through on a big angle, causing too much of the rear to constantly slip out. The placement was satisfactory but not exact on the dot. He took his time to ensure that I was pleased with the design before he started. He explained the process and talked about how important it was to always see that the equipment is clean and that the instruments had been sterilized. I am a stickler of places being clean, and my expectations were exceeded in all areas. He pointed out all the sterilization equipment and made me feel comfortable in the process.
