Really nice looking, better then the old one. It was worth making. Love going to see the school perform there.

Good selection of snacks and drinks at concession stand, though they still charge "precio de gringo" like other theaters. This Cinemark location only has 10 screens but if they're offering something you want to see it's worth the drive. They have updated the theater since our last visit. Now they feature comfortable recliners with electric controls. Fewer seats, but more comfortable. When you pay for tickets (in person or online) you choose your seats which are numbered. So you can arrange seating ahead of time if you have a group or family rather than wonder if you can all sit together. The theater and restrooms were clean when we were there (a matinee). Employees were not especially friendly but efficient. I would definitely return to avoid the crowds in McAllen.

Right down the street from where I stay, super convenient, new movies, affordable, I don't have to worry about what might get stuck on my butt for sitting on their chair so that's a big kudo to them. On a different note, some of my coworkers said they spotted a giant cockroach on the screen at the Pharr Cinemark, so maybe this one is safer, who knows!

I was walking across the bridge when I saw this center and I thought that the architecture was quite enticing. I walked up to the beautiful staircase in the building to discover the box office. This was about 7:30pm and the box office had just closed, but there was still someone inside. They gave me two free tickets to a Mariachi Concert. How good could it be? After all this was just some high school / college performance. But I was in for a treat. The level of artistry and the pieces played by the 3 mariachi bands that I listened to were superb. I was never a mariachi fan before. I am now. The auditorium itself is acoustically wonderful. Perfect for listening to music. There is ample seating, but even the second tier doesn't feel like it is far from the stage. Outside of the doors in the halls around the auditorium I discovered a superbly decorated and well kept center. The chandeliers and the main staircase were impressive. Even if you visit Brownsville just for the day (as I did) then make sure not to miss out on this building. Attending a concert here is ideal, but if there is no show on your day then walking into the building and checking out the architecture are worthwhile activities by themselves.
