Tonight was one of those moments that reminds you why small towns are so special. We went to the Wes-Mer drive-in and enjoyed two movies under the stars, but by the end of the second one, our car battery had died. Without hesitation, one of the attendants came over and gave us a jump. When I tried to tip him, he kindly refused and simply told us to keep coming back. It wasn't about the money--it was about helping someone out. Nice historic part of the Rio Grande Valley showing new releases. My only complaint is that it's near the business 83 railroad tracks and trains occasionally come through blowing their train horns and interrupting some showings. No I know it's not Wes-mer's fault but they do not do anything like pause the movie or even issuing an apology. read more

As you enter it clearly says engine must be turned off during movie. Well that didn't apply for people parked next to us. We were inhaling the fumes from the truck next us and on the other side of us they had there car turn on also with there head light turned on but here comes the employees to the rescue putting newspapers on there head light with tape. My very first and only drive-in movie theater so I was amazed! Super cheap admission ($6/car on Tuesday, $12/car any other day), you can bring in any food or drink with you, get cozy with blankets and pillows, full on making out or even get down and dirty and noone would really know or care (Don't blame it on me if you get caught tho. Not saying i have done that here lol) I would come here a lot more often if they remodel the parking lot as well as the restroom. It gives me the creep to go. Make sure you have someone waiting for you outside or buddy up if you reallyyyyyy need to use it. read more

Wes-Mer Drive-In is pretty much the only drive-in left in the Rio Grande Valley. It's the best spot to take your family to enjoy two new films for one low price. They charge by the "carload" and the prices are $10 everyday but Tuesday when it's $5. The snack bar here is pretty good, and offers popcorn, sodas, hot dogs, nachos, cheese-fries, and other snacks.. The prices are pretty low and the quality is okay. I sometimes bring fresh fruit, or pick up some grub on the way. Give it up for Wes-Mer Drive in! It's like traveling back in time. Bring some comfy lawn chairs and relax. You can get hot cheetos and cheese, and enjoy the show. You can also bring your own refreshments, so pack a picnic and make a date out of it. Be prepared for large families with large speakers. Awesome! read more

What I love about it: $10 a car on the weekends for two movies and as many people as you can fit in that car, you can bring your own food and drinks. It's a great place for some nice family memories. What I hate: People are coming in throughout the entire time of both movies and flashing their car lights in your face and being annoying. The sound isn't that good, not sure if it is their station or my radio. And the screen looks scratched up. Oh and the women's bathroom is ridiculously crowded. I love drive-in movie theaters. On the plus side, this is the only one left in the Rio Grande Valley. It is very reasonably priced at $10 per vehicle and offers a double-feature with current movies. Unfortunately, it suffers from poor management and the facilities are in very poor shape. If you are in for an experience... at least be prepared to deal with bathrooms that are greatly under-sized for the crowd (expect long lines) and require significant maintenance. Clogged sinks, dirty toilets, etc. Concession area is very run-down also and is organized badly. Everyone waits in the same long line whether you need a pack of M&M's or a Hot Dog. If concerns are raised with the on-site supervision, they have a 'take it or leave it' attitude. Not very professional.... but clearly because they are the only drive-in around, many locals still visit regularly. I wish that the owner had more pride in improving what could be a great place. In summary, if you go... go early to get in line by the side of the road before they open... bring a cooler with your own food and drinks.... stay close to the comforts of your personal vehicle... and most importantly..... try to avoid using the bathroom. read more

Love coming out here for family night at the drive inn. Where else can you catch 2 movies for $11 that covers a carload of people. Snack bar available for snacks in case you forgot to bring your own picnic dinner or sweets. Good times every time we've been out here. read more

Worst experience ever! Personnel packs in as any cars as possible. Which is fine, but there isn't even enough bathrooms. Had to wait 45 minutes to use the women's restroom which only had 3 stalls. While in line, a little girl was vomiting in the side bushes and 2 pregnant ladies had to wait in line. This isn't family friendly, this is trying to make as much money as possible. If I could I would give it 0 stars. read more

A drive in folks! It gets the stars just for existing. Its ten bucks a car and the movies are new releases. They have two showings back to back and they usually run a week. They do have a snack shack with excellent movie munchies, but you can also take your own food. Take your kids at least once. It is a drive in folks so your gonna rough it a bit I mean c'mon take the bug spray, germ x, comfy lawn chairs, and a pizza. By the way go to the bathroom early. read more

What's not to love about drive-in theaters? Especially withe these ridiculously low prices (please don't mark-up the prices Wes-Mer). Perfect for a date or with family. Just make sure you don't bring them together. Great snacks! I am fond of the cheese fries and nachos. read more

Wes-Mer is awesome, it sure takes you back in time. I started going there when we first got married in 1975, now i am taking my kids who are all grown up and they are taking their kids, which are my grandchildren. It is like having a family picnic with a giant screen tv, yes time have change but i am glad it is still there, yes restrooms are crowded but whose fault is it? Ours they provided a larger section and one time and people abused it, now its small but clean. Really enjoyed it. Keep up the great work WES MER STAFF AND OWNER WE COME ALL THE WAY FROM EDINBURG WILL STILL GO. Again thanks for keeping it up. Good memories never die. read more

i have been there many times. It is pretty fun with the kids. The snacks are very reasonable and it is great.I hope people continue to go and give it good business so it can stay awhile longer. I suggest they do redo the screen so it can be better . All in all it is way more fun and economical way to go to see new movies. You cant beat that. Dont wait and join the fun. read more

They don't have signs that say you can't leave and come back, the restrooms are packed and kids need to go to the restroom and you can't take them to the nearest store. It was allowed but know their policy changed,They charge you again when you come back. They don't even advertise it on their website or at the establishment. They are very rude to their customers. read more
